See when it comes down to it, pick any combination of our current midfielders you care to choose, and put them out on the park. Then replace any one of them with Stephen Hughes. You've just improved it. If he's interested, for reasonable and affordable money, then fucking tie him to something until he signs.

Randolph Hateley ----- Clancy/Hutch ----- Craigan ----- Hammell Jennings Murphy ----- Lasley ----- Hughes ----- Law Higdon I'd take that right now.

If we had an out-and-out goalscorer or a poacher, the nature of the game means that he would be out of it for long periods....he'd get absolutely crucified by the crowd for not working hard enough. If he then did work harder and drop off to win the ball...he then wouldn't be in the right places when it drops for a "poacher", and he'd get crucified by the crowd for not getting into the right places. Then folk would still be calling for a poacher type player, and if we got one he'd be out of the game for long periods and he'd get crucified by the crowd for not working hard enough, so he'd put in more of a shift and as a result, not be on the 6 yard line when the ball drops and the crowd would be on his back for not being on the end of things. Then...... Or "Michael Higdon", as it's more commonly called round Fir Park way.

Good post, that pretty much sums up my feelings on the matter in a nutshell.
-
Okay if you're struggling to follow the flow of a conversation:- Someone said that hopefully with us doing so well then perhaps a few people that have stopped coming to games may come back. I made the point that for the most part, the cost of going to games regularly is a huge part of the reason behind their non-attendance and that being the case, being 2nd in the league doesn't make it cheaper therefore they are unlikely to come back on a regular basis regardless of us doing well. If you're struggling on any of the other topics, just wave your tongue in the air and i'm sure someone will come along to help soon.
-
But being 2nd in the league doesn't make the games any cheaper, or give you any extra in your pay packet. If the price is too expensive to attend when we're 7th or 11th, it's still gonna be too expensive when we're 2nd.

I saw an old woman get hit by a car yesterday and she was trapped underneath, and someone came running over and actually lifted it single handedly off her! Both her legs were badly broken but this guy just kinda like..breathed on them or something, and they completely healed. Then using his fingers he gently massaged the metal of the car which just sort of melted, for want of a better word, back into shape. The somehow this guy must have hypnotised both the driver and the old woman as all of a sudden it was as if the memory of the whole thing had been erased from their minds, and they both carried on like nothing had happened. Everyone that was in the area just stood in shock and disbelief at what we had all seen, but then this guy finally stood up and when he turned around we saw it was Danny Swanson, and straight away we all understood.

I do agree with that.

Yeah, it's not embarrassing that an email was sent out, it's embarrassing that that email had to be sent out.
-
It's embarrassing as fuck that that email had to be sent out. A manager has more important things to be doing than sitting at his desk trying write an essay explaining his actions to a bunch of fucking idiots that have probably never played the game in their lives. (Which is fine in itself...nothing wrong with having been shite at football, but that should probably tell you that your opinions on the game should be a wee bit less vocal, and may just be ill-informed at best). Fair play to the guy for doing it though, plainly obvious how much he gives a shit, and that's all I'd ask for from anyone at the club.
-
Personally the big guy would be one of the first names on my team-sheet but it seems I'm not the only one who's glad he's at the club. Apparently there's a new Michael Higdon fan club being started up by the women and children all over Lanarkshire who get a couple of hours break from being battered on a Saturday afternoon. One wee boy turned up for school on Monday with his face all over the place and the teacher just knew straight away that Higdon hadn't jumped for a high ball.

Humphries is bad enough, but who the fuck is this Glancy that you keep talking about?
-
Are you joking? The Cooper is every bit as bad for it as the East.
-
If I want to enjoy the game by chucking stones at our players, is that cool then?
-
Are you actually joking?
-
Maybe you didn't, but someone today said that, and plenty other people were shouting various other things of different content but with equal unacceptability. And you're saying he deserved everything he got. Well, no...he didn't. You're right, we do all pay our money to go see our team play, and anyone not pulling their weight is bringing the team down. But what's pulling the team down are the fucking mongos voicing anger from the stands during a game which we won to send us clear in 3rd, 2 points behind Celtic (which actually shouldn't have any bearing on this anyway). So as a fan and a supporter, start pulling your own fucking weight or people will have a go at you for the same reasons you're having a go at the players.. It's doesn't start and end with paying your money.
-
Really? So because he didn't pull down a ball that Randolph aimlessly launched in the vague direction of his head, he deserves to be told that he'd be more use if he just died cos at least then we'd play someone else? If you believe he, or any other player deserves what they get from our fans at any time, let alone when we're clear in third place and almost a third of the way to the split, then maybe you should take up painting or chess or something, in the hope that you'll realise it's only a fucking game, and come back next year with a wee bit of fucking perspective on life.
-
The Cooper isn't any different. Was really depressing today, no matter how results go if I ever stop going to Fir Park it will be because the crowd just gets me down. There also seems to be some kind of direct ratio between the volume of a fan, and their lack knowledge of the game. Screaming at a player to say you think he's shite is bad enough to have to sit and listen to, but to hear someone sitting roaring instructions on what they should do, only go start going insane if the player does anything different is just mind boggling.
-
And the highlights showing that the ball wasn't over the line
-
2-0 up with 5 mins to go, and getting pegged back to 2 each? Last minute winner or not, if that was us then this place would be going apoplectic about how we were defensively pish and how they had let the rest of the team down after managing to get a 2 goal lead and then throwing it away, and how we can't close out games when we're ahead, and how McCall should have changed it at 2-0 up with 15 mins to go because they were all fucked.

If you look on the official site in the photos from pre-season training Here, there's hardly a pick of fat on him...and that's on the first day.
-
Oh aye! I mind now. Sorry Omar, took your vote back.

I don't even remember that! A fair sign in itself of how the game went...
