I think St Mirren, Falkirk away, Ayr and Ross County would all be more dangerous games.

Norriiiieeeeeeee....left the heater on, Norriiiiieeeeee...left the heater on.....

I doubt we will. Im not saying you're wrong, but It's like spending a good Friday night pointing out that it will soon be Monday morning at work.
-
Really? Tell that to Jenno. I'd enjoy it more if every time a player looks half decent for us, someone didn't feel the need to trot out that same old line. Relax....take some of your own advice....
-
Big difference was the boys position within the support...centre stand at the back makes everything infectious, the sound spreads out amongst everyone. Obviously not much can be done at home games but noticed at the likes of St Mirren the guys went for the very end section of the stand. Maybe to try and get some banter with the home fans but it meant the sound doesn't travel through our own and even though I was only along a wee bit just behind the goal, I couldn't make out any of the words, where as yesterday everything was clear as a bell and it's easy to join in. Definitely think it works much better to ignore the other support and just be loud on our own steam. Being the centre of our fans works MUCH better than being on the edge of it.

Few excellent performances, but Nicky Law just knows how to boss a game.
-
McCall getting his Black and White stripes mixed up on the official site? That's St Mirren?
-
Maybe so, but when you've spent a lot of time and putting a lot of work into planning and funding something (bearing in mind it's probably been fairly low down the financial priority list), you can see their point of wanting to have a proper full launch surely? Weeyin...you've pretty much hit the nail on the head though regarding the interest mainly surrounding the match footage. After all the work that's gone/going into it as a full package, it would be absolutely mental to release your main draw early, and then when it comes time to launch the rest of the features that have taken a lot of time and money and planning...no-one cares because they are already getting the main thing they are interested in.
-
Nope, McCall's opinion of him dived drastically after his attitude was found wanting during his loan at Swindon. No interest there at all anymore.

I think the plans are a wee bit more grand than "some guy with a camera", more akin to a proper online tv channel. Im sure they could start battering highlights and the like up, but there's little point in getting something like this going in dribs and drabs.

Yeah I couldn't argue with that at all, thought he had a great game...went for Forbes as he had a bit more riding on the game, wee bit more pressure to deal with but Hateley has fast become the kind of player everyone would want at their club I think. Committed, reliable, able to cover a couple of positions, and maybe more importantly you don't play 100 games in two and a bit seasons without being fighting fit and really looking after yourself. From being a signing that seemed a bit of a punt at the time, you have to say it was a grand bit of business by Gannon. His best probably? My only criticism would be that for a guy that loves a free kick and has all the technique in the world, he needs to work the keeper more consistently.
-
Going for Ross Forbes, thought he did everything very well tonight. I do think though, that he'd struggle to play like that against higher quality opposition. He was able to put in the performance he did because he had a bit of extra time that he wouldn't get against an SPL side. Man of the Match tonight I reckon, but would have to be a bit sharper and a bit more accurate against a better side...however you can only play who's in front of you so who's to say he wouldn't have.

There was a point in the second half where the Clyde defence were holding a pretty high line, and Higdon was our furthest forward player...ball goes up in the air and is obviously coming down to Higdon who wins the header and knocks the ball behind him into absolute acres of space between the backline and the goal. The amount of folk around me that were bawling out "fuck sake ya dick, theres naeb'dy up there!!", and "hold it up for fuck sake" and "what fuckin use is that Higdon?!"...just absolutely boggled my brain. There was indeed a fuck-up there...but it certainly WASN'T Higdon. If you watch top-level attackers, they assume the header will be won so that by the time it is they are already flying onto it. McHugh, Law and Lawless all stood and watched him to see if he won it, rather than getting past him regardless...and then worrying about whether he won it or not. If he's on the 18 yard line and the ball drops to him, then yeah...he should be holding it up, laying it off or trying to turn his man and either play someone in or get a shot away. But If he's 10 yards into the Clyde half and their backline is that high, then what he did is EXACTLY what he should be doing!! When the ball is in the air and it looks like it might even be close to dropping onto Higdon's head, then McHugh in particular, but also Law and Lawless who were playing more attacking roles, should be spotting the space in behind, ignoring Higdon completely and be off their mark straight away into HALF A PARK OF SPACE...by the time they are level with Higdon he's flicked the ball on and they are already at full pelt...the defenders don't have a hope of turning and getting back....whoever takes that chance of Higdon winning it has a one-on-one with the keeper.

Really?! I thought he played very well...was being doubled up on as soon as he came on, and skinned both of them a few times. On one occasion he put one on his arse, powered past the other into the box and almost scored with an identical shot to Hateley's goal. Another that sticks in my mind was again being doubled up on, and going outside to the by-line with a decent back post cross the Smith (i think), just didn't get enough on. That's just off the top of my head....
-
Agreed. Im desperate for the guy to be shite now just so that Dazzer looks more like a complete bell-end.
-
I think for the pressure O'Brien would take off Jamie Murphy to be the creator, he'd be worth it. Regardless of what anyone else thought of him, he always seemed to worry defenders...so that's good enough for me really.
-
They have got the volume in the Cooper just about spot on....which is not bad after the 17 years of me being there. Although I'd love to be party to the ongoing discussions regarding "don't put this CD in". That's a conference if ever there was one. Musical taste is totally subjective and you won't play something that suits everyone, but I reckon everyone's starting point would be to play actual songs, instead of sounding like you've got the radio and MTV playing at the same time. It's like a wee deaf boy has been given a shot at mixing just to keep him happy.
-
Oh aye...I'm sure if there was anything in it, he'd talk about it on Twitter. All those Barnsley fans that pay good money to go see their club would love that kind of committed chat from their players.
-
I genuinely don't know a fan of another smaller club club who's team could spend 5 weeks at the top of the league, who would look at it as everyone else being shite.
-
I think what happened yesterday was ridiculous given the context of the opposition and their "largely ignored" mass behaviour, but come on...seriously? Anyone that make a point like that just sounds like they are blatantly trying to cover something up, it sounds more guilty than any banner itself would! If someone turned up with a banner with a big fuck off swastika on it, I think me, you, and everyone else would know that weren't intending to convey an ancient Egyptian message of peace.
-
Yeah I remember him being pretty decent. Bit of a habit of getting his goals against the bigger sides if I remember rightly.
-
The most effective front line we've had was the Clarky/Porter/Rossco trio. Could Higdon play the penalty box Porter role with Murphy playing the McCormack role?
-
It's not positivity mate, In no way have I said I think he'll come back just now. Im just saying that the reasons people give for him not coming aren't accurate. That doesn't mean I think he'll come, but however many options he may have...we're a lot higher up that list than some people seem to think. Like I say, im sure we all would love it to be different, but the fact is that no-one in England gives a shit about James McFadden, because they have no reason to. He's basically "that scottish guy who scored a cracker against Middlesburgh years ago".
-
Just as an aside regarding the possibility of holding out for a Premiership club to come in with an offer.... Newcastle United, who are publicly trying to keep their costs as low as possible to claw back their previous debt, and who have an owner who's pockets basically only operate in one direction, were in the market for a player who could play either a wide midfield role, or up top. Did they go for James McFadden who would have been completely free, and more than likely would have signed for the Premiership version of minimum wage? No...they thought it was a better option to go for Gabriel Obertan. 3 million pounds for a player that can barely run without the fucking ball, let alone with it. I VERY much doubt he's holding out to see what premiership clubs make an offer. As much as every single one of us would wish it was different, barring some kind of last minute deal where their first 10 choices have failed...James McFadden isn't on anyone's shopping list at that level.
-
Was. WAS a 5 million pound player. Francis Jeffers WAS an 8 million pound player. He's also played for a bigger club and had a higher wage than McFadden ever has. And he's only 2 years older. But he played for Motherwell for 6 months, because he had fuck-all options and he hoped it would lead to something bigger. James McFadden is a professional footballer, sitting at home watching telly when every league in the country has already started. Aside from that that he's a boy that fucking loves playing football. If he had any offers on the table, he'd have taken one already. It's also not a secret that he's been without a club for months...if a Premiership club were interested, they would have made an offer by now. Not saying he's likely to come to Motherwell...but let's not kid ourselves that he's in a position to pick and choose. We have an affinity to him for obvious reasons, and he rightly has a bit of a god-like status at Fir Park, but the odd cracking goal here and there aside, he hasn't actually done all that much of note at club level since he left. In actual fact there are plenty football fans all over the country who have no idea what he did at Motherwell, who think that James McFadden is fucking shite. He could do a lot worse than come here on a 6 month deal. It may well do him a world of good because right now, outside of Fir Park, he has pretty much ZERO reputation. In fact, theres huge debate amongst even Scotland fans over whether he should be in the squad, let alone the team. That's reflective of his status within the game, and he needs to do something to change that.
