Just watched last night's Sportscene there and having had the chance to see things again in isolation, actually can't believe the folk criticizing Higdon. We had 6 clear cut chances in the match, 2 of them were Higdon himself where he did everything right and but for 2 good saves would have been goals. Murphy's shot which produced another great save was from a neat lay-off by Higdon, Law through on goal which was again made by Higdon pressing Goodwin and poking the ball through for Law. The other 2 chances being the goal, and Forbes' shot from distance. I'm actually not sure what more you'd want from a striker playing up top on his own!

I actually didn't think Higdon was too bad at all. He was clearly getting frustrated as the game went on, but he won a lot of ball and played it into space, but all too often there was no-one running off him. Murphy was MILES away from him at times and if he's not getting the support then it's a waste of time anyone playing that role, regardless of whether it's Higdon or not. He'd have scored a couple today if the keeper hadn't had such a good game, and if better runs were made off him then we'd have been through on goal 4 or 5 times from his knock on's.

As far as I know, the pitch can't flood unless the drains break or block. There's a big massive pond-type thing behind the stand that all the excess water from the pitch runs into. Will be sodden, and may well affect the quality of the game, but it will be on.

When they have the away kit wrong, the sponsor wrong, and all of the home kit and sponsor wrong apart from the collar which is correct for this seasons kit, but wrong for the kit they have put it on.....im not even gonna bother reading their squad list.

From hearing the chat about it beforehand I expected to see some huge miscarriage of justice, but i've watched it plenty times now and i don't get why folk are complaining...he pretty clearly and deliberately swings his arm round behind him with force. Some ref's wouldn't have given it and some ref's would, but there's been no shocking decision there!! No way it will be overturned.

I think that was actually previous season when we finished 3rd if I remember right? It was very tight at the top and came down to those results as you say, but the following season although we were 2nd it was by quite a distance. Much closer to winning the league when we finished 3rd than we were when we finished 2nd.

There were times in the second half when we were playing the exact way football should be played. Think we've got a bit of teeth about us as well which is needed at times, so it seems we have a very good balance of ideas, patience, ability, and toughness.

I wouldn't be unhappy with that. I too think McHugh would get a bit of joy out of partnering Higdon.

That's one of my problems with the whole current "retro" trend. No-one's creating any identity for now. History and memories are great, but that's exactly why trying to re-introduce it can be counter-productive if too much hinges on it. We should be creating tomorrow's history, otherwise in 10/20/30 years time, right now will just be a big gap with nothing unique to date it. Sure it might end up being something that people don't like...but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Lots of people think the jester kit and the Dortmund kit were horrendous, but they mark a time in our history that people can identify and relate to. I worry that with too much focus on today's history, tomorrow won't have one of it's own.

You should remove the "stay and do the place up" option, as it's not an option. Whatever we do will require the sale of the stadium and land to part-fund it, so if we stay where we are...we cut off our only source of funding for any change.

What about the time when everyone was doing their nut after a game at Ibrox after seeing Bob Malcolm go up to Barry Ferguson to get Ferguson's shirt off him in exchange, which infuriated the 'well fans firstly because they thought it was ridiculous that he was still pandering to Rangers and their players, and secondly but more importantly, the shirt the Malcolm gave away was one of the embroidered Phil O'Donnell ones...and there was a mass hissy fit about him disrespecting us by Ferguson's shirt meaning more to him than his player-only issue Phil shirt. Until afterwards it was revealed that it had been arranged beforehand because Barry Ferguson and his wife, and Phil and his wife were extremely close friends, and Eileen had wanted Ferguson to have one of them...so Bob agreed to the swap so that the rest of the 'well squad wouldn't have to give up theirs as they had played with him and was a friend and colleague, whereas Bob hadn't joined the club til after. Also at a player 'do shortly afterwards, another Phil player-issue top was up for auction with Proceeds going to Phil's family, and Bob Malcolm paid 2 and a half grand for it so that he could replace the one he had given to Barry Ferguson. Although obviously that doesn't fit in with the "Bob Malcolm is a Rangers-loving prick" angle mind you.
