Am I not right in thinking that they were never anything to do with the club, they just paid a fee for the right to use the name and kit/colours?
-
Happy to take the penalty obviously! But this... ...is absolutely bang on! Canning has obviously gifted him the chance to win the penalty...and given that its in our favour thats fine by me, but you're havin an absolute laugh if you think the contact between them was what sent Sutton down!

From experience, neither half likes it when they ask what result you're hoping for on Sunday, and you answer with "a fire".

There has to be two defending team players between the most advanced attacker and the goal. It's just usually thought of as being one because the other is generally the goalie. Once Murphy rounds Langfield there would have to be 2 defenders goal-side of Humphrey. As it was, he was about 3 yards offside.

Where did I mention the club? The other clubs have supporters too. "We" as supporters have kept the league afloat for years out of blind loyalty, overlooking on the way the total imbalance of price paid for product offered and services provided, so no, it's not time for us to act like the supporters we are. It's time for us to be appreciated for the supporters we are, and have been for a long time. I agreed with the original poster up til the part I highlighted. Which is why I highlighted it.

Can I just point out that neither of the people that disagreed with the Original Poster, mentioned or referred to the Rangers game.

Are you joking? We get the utter utter piss ripped out of us constantly, and all in the name of us being "supporters". We give WAY more than we should for what we get, to the point where we are actually mental for doing it. I think the main thing thats coming to the fore in this slump, is that more and more people are realising that if this was any other business or product, trading standards would have to open a dedicated department, and the small claims court would have to run 24hrs. It's NOT time for us to live up to our name as supporters. It's time to be treated like the supporters we are.

On a day to day, week to week, season to season basis it's definitely Motherwell....i've probably spent about 20 grand over the years on my love of the club in one way or another. However on a larger scale, if it was a straight choice between Motherwell winning the league or Scotland winning the World Cup, it would be Scotland every time. Contrary to the guy before that says he couldn't bring himself to support players from other clubs, that's actually one of the things I like best about the national team....the way that it brings people together both players and fans, and shows that there is something bigger than the Old Firm bollocks in this country. It give the people that want to...again players and fans....the chance to rise above it, and for me, during a Scotland game it's the closest we'll get to the Old Firm not existing, which is what most people want anyway.

If they were willing to stump up the cash for a keeper who could quite easily have 20+ clean sheets this season, and has 2 years left on his contract....wire in!! Doubt it though!

We better no be using fabric softer for the kits.

Im quite happy to be honest. On the park he's obviously got talent and an eye for goal in there somewhere...just a case of can it be brought out. Off the field, we very rerely get the chance to have a "celebrity" player...and while I know a lot of our more, erm...experienced fans...might not like that, it's certainly a chance to raise the footballing profile of the club, which im always in favour of.

If there wasn't a 400 page thread and a daft story about his signing, folk would be saying Casagolda looked fairly promising and needed a few games to settle in.
-
No, no...but...how can that be??? Surely McCall just clicks on "transfer market", puts a wee tick beside all the players he wants, and then waits for a wee news reel to report which ones are coming, and then he just confirms the best ones? What, you mean.....it's not like that??
-
Slightly less than nae chance.
-
And you said this wouldny happen to you til the morning of the game Mr Henderson!! Underestimating yourself methinks
-
Spot on, pretty much exactly my thoughts.

See looking back on it now, that front line of Clarky/Porter/McCormack is frightening. I know the topic is comparing the two era's above, but on a side note...the team and the form from McGhee's first season would be absolutely beasting the SPL this year. I genuinely think if you could take that, and bring it into this season, we'd be giving the league a bit of a fright.
-
You'd give it to whoever gave the best interview. The outcome would suggest that on this occasion it was Stuart McCall, and given Boyles relatively successful history with appointing managerial candidates, im perfectly prepared to trust that.
-
Obviously it happens here as it does everywhere, But Falkirk is the best place i've seen in the country for people that support their local team (except me obviously ). Most of my mates from school, right through to mates I have now who are from the local area, are Bairns fans. In fact out of my group of good mates, some i've had since school and others since then, there are only two who support the Old Firm.

Didnt play a position mate, was instructed to go wherever Zemamma went, and did it impressively well. Good move by McCall as he was the only Hibs player that was getting on the ball and making space for himself, but after Page came on as far as I saw Zemamma touched the ball twice, leading to him getting subbed off because they were effectively being forced to play with 10 men. Impressive stuff by both Page and McCall.

In England, emergency loans don't count. Im assuming they Leeds would have thought that as we'd got to the point of asking for a specific player, we'd have checked it out and that they didn't count up here either. We've made an arse of it...no-one else.
-
The rule doesnt exist in England, so why would they check anything? They aren't gonna know the laws in another country. If a club in Sweden came to us asking if they could borrow one of our players...would we then check their rules? Of course not...we'd assume they wouldn't have asked for the player if it wasn't possible from their end.
