Think you're lumping it in with Bebo, Facebook and the whole "social networking" scene. MySpace is a cornerstone of the music community...one of the most important tools we have.

    Yesterdays Chants

Not aimed at you in particular Melvin, just I think that line there, in my opinion, is a big part of the problem. A fair amount of people trying to work out how offended they are supposed to be. It bothers some folk, it doesnt bother others. Someone said something you don't like....move on. There are certain things that the majority of people think just shouldn't be said. Over 33% of votes on the other threads poll, show that the word "paedophile", isn't one of them. That might be hard for the people who think it is, to hear...but the fact of the matter is that there are a lot of people who dont agree. Not a comment on what I think of it, just an observation of the situation we've been left with. In fact edited to say, yeah...I will give my opinion on it. I think it was a bit of a pathetic thing to say, and there was no need for it. However, I think the level of outrage for the sake of outrage is ridiculous, and to be honest, that bothers me more than what was said in the first place.

    Yesterdays Chants

I was at the game with my bird, who is Catholic and a Celtic fan, and she'd be the first to assure anyone that there were no sectarian chants, and no uses of the word fe**an whatsoever. Also, i've heard first hand plenty of times, chants of "wee boys...ye only shag wee boys...ye only shag wee boys...." towards Celtic fans from ourselves, United fans, Hearts fans and Falkirk fans (others might sing it as well, but those are the only other teams games i've been to). Not debating whether it's right or wrong.....but why highlight it this time? What's the difference?

    Paul Mcgrillen

I agree with ML1 actually. People die all the time...in fact, everyone does. Fair enough there are exceptions when it's a person who has really touched a place, (Phil for us, Bobby Robson at Newcastle as examples), but in those circumstances you are honouring and acknowledging an outstanding achievement or contribution. When you start honouring everyone then for me I think it becomes a bit of a nonsense personally.

Macheda and Wellbeck...christ help me. Take the bottom 3 teams from last years Premiership that are still in it this year, and add the teams that have just come up. Then look at their squad lists and take note of all the strikers that you've never heard of. This guy will be on that list.
  7. To the tune of the Boney M song.... "Brown man on the wing, tra lala lala There's a brown man on the wing, traaaaa la la la la la Brown man on the wing, tra lala lala....."
  8. "Ted" has to be in the running for his nickname then!
  9. Forbes had a fantastic second half but needed the momentum of the game to change him, rather than him being able to change the momentum of the game, so im gonna go for Coke. His composure seems to give him a few seconds extra on the ball in a similar way that Latapy always seemed to have (albeit they are completely different types of player), and thats something you cant teach.
  10. Been trying to figure out why we looked so all over the place in the first half, a few different words came to mind but I had dismissed one because I didnt think it was possible given our pre-season. Mulled it over though and I dunno about others but for me it seems to fit....in the first half we looked nervous for some reason. We settled though, and it looks like it will be a fun season. Going forward we look like we could potentially score every time we attack, and every time we have to defend I shite my pants. Really enjoyed todays game overall.
  11. Thats me just in. Firstly, all the teams that folk posted earlier are wrong. We lined up first half with.... --------------------Ruddy-------------------- Hateley---Hutchison---Craigan---Hammell ------------------Reynolds------------------- ----Murphy---Coke---Forbes---O'Brien---- -------------------Sutton--------------------- Second half switching to pretty much... --------------------Ruddy---------------------- Hateley---Hutchison---Reynolds---Hammell ----------------Coke---Forbes----------------- Humphrey-----------------------------O'Brien --------------McHugh---Murphy--------------- Hateley had a really good debut considering he's only just in the door. Reynolds didnt get to grips with his holding role in the first half at all, and Hammell had possibly the worst game i've seen him have in either spell at the club. Forbes was very quiet first half, Sutton was winning knock-ons but with no-one supporting him. Second half was a totally different kettle of fish apart from Hammell who continued to be really poor. Humphrey got a few good balls across the box, and the front players looked much more confident....potential to score every time we went forward. To summarise, St Johnstone looked much better than most established SPL sides. If they can keep that kinda performance up then they will be looking at a 8th/9th place finish at the very worst. Certainly look to have so much more to offer than the regular bottom-feeders. Ross Forbes equalised with what could end up being goal of the season already....but Jim O'Brien was an inch away from topping it with one of the most sublime shots i've seen. If you remember Novo's goal in the cup final, or futher back Steve McManaman for Liverpool where they let a throw-in go across their body then turn and smack it from 30 yards...it was exactly like that, and cracked off the corner of the goal-frame. When Ross Forbes confidence is high, he is fantastic to watch...need to be careful not to fade away when things arent going our way though. Giles Coke is the most assured and composed footballer i've ever seen in a Motherwell shirt. Touch, awareness and timing are unbelieveable.
  12. In my time watching the 'well i'd say Tommy McLean, Phil O'Donnell, Davie Cooper, The Kaiser and Faddy. A very jealous someone certainly didn't like the esteem that The Kaiser was held amongst the fans...did you Mr Leitch?
  13. Terry Butcher used to have all the threads in the Club Chat section printed off and waiting for him on his desk every morning.
  14. My only prediction for the season is that we won't have a single 0-0 draw. I think we'll come out flying on Saturday with a fairly comfortable win.
  15. Indeed! Gannon seems to be the kind of manager that plays the specific opposition of that day, rather than having a standard setup. We could have an educated guess as to the basic structure of it, but the team we put out at the weekend will be designed to try and take points from St. Johnstone away, and could likely be fairly different to that which is put out to try and take points from Killie at home the following week. Your stick-on's will be fairly accurate though, Ruddy in goals, Craigan and Reynolds will both play (although where Reynolds plays will depend on where Gannon thinks he will be most effective on the day). Sutton will be up front, more than likely with Coke and Forbes somewhere behind him, and Slane out wide. Anyone else could be anywhere, again depending on what the boss feels is the best setup for St. Johnstone.

Getting all worked up over a tshirt...going mental and swearing at a wee 12 year old boy trying to write a wee book of stories about his team on another thread.... Could we be about to see TheLip making an appearance on a certain controversial compost corner thread soon? Seriously mate, get yourself a beer...have a walk...listen to some Stevie Wonder, anything that stops you being such an uptight wank would be good for you, you'll feel better for it. Edited to fix a typo, just in case you spotted it and popped a vein in your forehead.
  18. Aye you have, mind you thought you were funny once? Turned out you were wrong and I remember you gettin into bother for that.
  19. Im talking about the european records that have been mentioned elsewhere. Many of us were intimidated by your European Cup wins, finals and semi-finals. Of course Steaua are a club to be highly respected, but recent events have shown how things change over time, and while there will be huge respect it's important we dont allow that to turn into us being intimidated by the past.
  20. See around the time Steaua were racking up those impressive wins that we are waxing lyrical about....Flamurtari were pumping Partizan Belgrade out of Europe, and creating a record against Barcelona of P-4, W-1, D-2, L-1 Sides of the past have no bearing on current sides. If we are intimidated by their record then we are already behind before a ball is kicked. Especially when the above shows that there is no reason to be.
  21. Cool!! That is now being used

Fuck sake! I dont care if he's shite, sign him just to scare people.
  25. If he comes back it will be because he's failed at Bristol. If thats the case, why would Rangers or Celtic even be interested in him?
