Again I do agree with you to a certain extent mate, the only difference being I just think that Gannon's ideas seem like they will have us in a position to maybe push for a european place in a couple of seasons time. When McGhee came in we hadnt even been trying to play football at that point, and so in hindsight it was a relatively easy task to provide a dramatic and instant improvement. Those type of short-term fix's never really last though, and what seems to be happening under Gannon is a complete re-birth from the ground up. Changes like that take a long time to get into the bones of the players, but once its there it stays. Thats why I'll be over the moon with a comfortable 7th/8th/9th place finish this season, because I think the changes that are being made and they way they are being implemented will mean that we could potentially have a good, solid top 6 finish the season after that, and in the future actually be in a strong position to push for a little bit of (relative) success that has substance and depth to it, rather than just a flash in the pan surprise season.

The other thing with regards to Hughes is at the moment, he's not getting a pre-season with anyone. Regardless of where he goes if it doesnt get sorted soon then he's really gonna suffer, particularly as a central midfielder.

Im no sure how anyone can predict a scoreline, or even a result, of a game against a team no-one knows anything about, from a league that no-one knows anything about! Thats like me going, "Im thinking of a team. Not telling you who it is but what do you think the score will be?" And then folk actually trying to justify a guess.

That actually wouldn't surprise me, as it seemed that one of Gannon's stamps on the side was for Reynolds to drive forward anytime he had the ball at his feet and space in front of him. Playing in that hole would allow him to do that, and give defenders/midfielders a nightmare of a time having a split second to decide whether to leave their man to shut him down.

I like Steve Diggle. His name rhymes with wiggle. If this makes him laugh then his man boobs will jiggle. however if it doesnt make anyone laugh i'll get a warning, and quite possibly a ban, depending on its level of un-funniness.

The players all have mates at other clubs, and every single one of them will have been getting the pish ripped out them the same as we have been. Fair enough it shouldn't take that to get a performance out of them, but I reckon we'll see a very different approach on Thursday.

Just was having a wee look through old seasons results and noticed a wee error. Don't know if it's the kinda thing you'd bother about changing as it's as trivial as it gets but it just happens to stick in my mind . In the fixtures & results page for season 1998/99 which was Kampman's half-season, we played East Stirling in pre-season friendly. It's on the page as having been played at Firs Park, and you're right it was away, but it was actually played at the Grangemouth Stadium.

Yeah I must admit even at Falkirk I liked the look of him. Only thing I can think is that like you say, he just wasnt ready for that move and didnt settle. Possibly the main SPL player that i'd like to see come to Fir Park!
