That's a really strong entry into any "extreme opinon on a topic you don't understand" competition. Daily Mail reader...absolutely nailed on.

Tell us more about how Carl McHugh thinks he's a goalkeeper. It's fantastic material, it really is.

2018’19 Game 9: St Johnstone (H) Saturday 20th October 2018

Steve Robinson would have Davie Cooper on the bench as there's parts of his game he need to work on. If we're still in the game with 15 to go he might bring him on to give us something a little different, but he can't rely on him for 90 mins. He needs to learn to do the ugly side of the game first and Connor Sammon did that brilliantly today, he's the kinda guy that Davie needs to look at in training and say you know what, that's what I need to aspire to if I want to be successful.

I haven't been to a league game this season, and I haven't missed it if I'm honest. Don't get me wrong I REALLY miss enjoying going to the football, but it's gotten so dull and boring that I wasn't looking forward to it, and wasn't enjoying it while I was there. As everyone is echoing, that's not tied to results or (relative) success...it's the excitement or entertainment that keeps you going (whether you win or lose), which isn't there. Would I go to the cinema to see a film that I knew in advance was going to be dull? Course not, and that's less than half the price, and isn't every week. At this time of year when you can add in the cold and wet weather, you need to give people a reason to go...and there just isn't one.

You wouldn't know an excellent piece if Gordon Ramsay made you a sandwich.

McLeish is quite clearly not well and it's been noticeable or a good couple of years. Questions should be asked of the people who have put him in this position, it can't be good for him.

The thing I don't like is the rhetoric that we are being punished for individual mistakes and then losing by the odd goal, seems to be implying that we make one mistake, lose a goal from it and lose the game. That bad luck is playing it's part and it will turn. It's absolutely ignoring the fact that what's actually happening is we're making 10/15 mistakes in dangerous areas every single game, and losing a goal from at least one of them is inevitable.

There's no such thing as precedent or standard in these. Each case is judged on it's own merits completely separately from any other.

If he stops saying "we go again", he'd go up massively in my estimation. Its the most annoying thing in the English language, let alone football.

It's just really boring to watch. Even if we win these games and the old "its the result that matters" gets trotted out, well...i can check the result on an app if thats the case. If you want people to actually watch something, then it has to be worth watching. I can find out the result for free at 5pm if thats all that matters. Wait whats that? You need us to actually come to the game? Well, in that case....
-
Given he's a left-footed left back, i'd sincerely hope so.
-
For as much as I wasn't overly excited about the Sammon signing having watched him regularly at Sheffield United (although acknowledging new club/fresh start...and he's proving that to be the right approach), I'd say anyone that had the opinion that he's slow has never actually watched or paid attention to him...or is just repeating rhetoric. He's absolutely rapid on a Charlie Dunne level, and always has been.

2 saves, Main hit the bar, Tait missed the target completely.

I predicted we would beat Stranraer by 2, and BetVictor happily agreed with me!
-
That's my point though, "I don't think you're good enough, I'm not planning on playing you and that will only make things worse for you if you stay". There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
-
Also, I obviously don't know what happened so there's a good chance I could be speaking out of turn, but if a manager not wanting you at a club, not playing you if you stay because you're not deemed good enough and your wages are taking up budget that could be used for a better player, is now being held up as bullying... then football probably isn't the career some people should be choosing.
-
Well, I watched him fairly often as his time im Sheffield coincided with me being there for Uni, so I went to watch United a lot and I'm not going to lie, it was genuinely embarrasing watching him most of the time. But.... We all know certain clubs can suit certain players, we've been on both the right and wrong end of that enough times, so it's a fresh start to my opinion of Connor Sammon and I hope the big guy does well.

He's talking about Joe McBride.
-
Where did anyone say that?
-
That barely beats even Stephen Pearson's post-Motherwell career, let alone the guys mentioned above. Brian McClair has: 1 Scottish league title 1 Scottish Cup 4 English Prem titles 2 FA Cup winners medals 1 League Cup winners medal 1 European Cup Winners Cup medal 1 European Super Cup medal 30 International Caps 471 appearances for Man United. I genuinely can't think of anyone else that comes even close, when you lay it out like that he's actually MASSIVELY under-rated when it comes to listing "The Greats" of our country, let alone our club.
-
Their Motherwell careers were both before my time so I only know their records down south, purely basing it on what they have done post-Fir Park. It's quite strange to be talking like this when my only first-hand experience of Brian McClair as a Motherwell player puts him firmly in the Top 5 worst I have ever seen!
-
Obviously Lambert's success in a Champions League final is the pinnacle of the club game, but if we're talking post-Motherwell careers and sustained success, I can't see a case for anyone above Brian McClair.

I don't even remember this?
