  1. It will certainly make it very interesting tomorrow with the last day of the transfer window....very nervous indeed
  2. Apologise if in the wrong thread, but does anyone think the international break will hinder us this time, as it appears we are improving as each game comes along and let's hope the break does not stop our momentum. Past seasons we have welcomed the international break to help with our injuries, but this time I would have liked us to keep going, anyway we cannot really complain and I am sure we will manage a good victory against Killie
  3. I am sorry I just don't see how this will progress the club with all these nationalities, why can't we look for some decent players from the Scottish Championship /Division 1 and I am sure the under 20's and fringe players must be getting p****d off with all these players being brought in. This new guy might be ok nobody knows that, but sounds it will take until the end of the year to embed him into the team and even then it might not happen. I can see why we just offer 12month contracts in case he is another Blythe but unless he is exceptional I can only see him being used as a fringe player with only getting a game when injuries/suspensions kick in. We went down this road around 10 years ago along with most Scottish Premier teams and didn't work then and cannot see it working now. It might be ok in the short term, but in long term I cannot see how this will make MFC a stronger club especially when it is owned by the community
  4. Hopefully going but listening to SC it seems a big step up from Queens Park game so looks as it will be difficult, but looking forward to it anyway, maybe they could play Louis Moult and Henneghan as over age players!!!
  5. Decided to give it to Campbell as he did make the difference in the second half, but a lot of credit to Richard Griffiths as did make a couple of good saves and also Bowman, Cedric, Tait and Dunne all had decent games. I thought Camden had one of his quieter games, once again the referee was a bit erratic with some of his decisions, especially Henneghan's booking early in the first half,
  6. I think SR deserves a lot of credit for being bold enough to realise that first half formation/s were certainly not working and manage to get it sorted out at half time, I honestly think he will be a good manager for us and most people have underestimated him when appointed. i also have to say that Ross County for the first half were a very good footballing side and certainly looks like they miss Boyce, it will be interesting to see how they perform against Rangers next week.
  7. We must be due to win as Steven Thomson has predicted Ross County to win 2-1 I am going for a 1-1 draw
  8. No he is there to stop the leaks in defence!!
  9. What I worry about is his form now, with all this transfer talk, I would hope it would not be affected, but have to say Moult has hardly been on his best form with all his transfer talk. I can see why the English league want the transfer deadline before the start of the league.
  10. I see they are appealing both Carson and Dunne's red cards, I assume they have taken advice from someone that thinks Carson's was not a red card e.g. An ex referee. They could also think of Scott Brown's red card being downgraded to a yellow, this should be a benchmark for all teams, but I doubt that will happen. Personally I think we could live with Griffiths in goals unless he gets injured or sent off!!
  11. I was wondering why he was taking the pre match warm ups up at Dingwall, now I know. Excellent servant to Motherwell FC, let us hope he continues to hopefully coach some new talent for us.
  12. Did we officially appeal Dunne's red card from Ross County game? According to Bill Leckie we did as that was the only reason he was playing on Saturday. I am not sure on what basis we can appeal that red card
  13. Having seen it a few times, I still think "technically" it is out the box and that is everyone looking at the replays where referee has one look at it and has to be 100% sure before deciding, it would be interesting to see if the assistant referee had any say in the decision. I think we have more chance with Dunne's appeal and I am sure we can live with Griffith in goals for next Saturday. Out of interest who is in line for Captaincy next week with McHugh suspended and Hammel injured, personally I would give it to Henneghan
  14. Not so sure about Carson, his body was inside but his hands think was just outside, a bad decisionmyCarson IMO Dunne was just unlucky I thought, ok he did clip him but I thought he was shot with a sniper when the St Johnstone guy went down! I am not sure if it will be worthwhile appealing the red cards, But after Scott Brown's winning appeal at the end of the season I suppose we might be in with a chance....sorry it is Motherwell so no chance!
  15. I would need to see McHugh's second yellow as he seemed to have got the ball, the other two sending offs were at the other end of the park and would be difficult to judge the decisions but certainly the linesman never flagged the Carson handling outside the box decision, which means a very close decision for Thomson to decide, which in my opinion he has to be 100% sure before giving the handling decision!! I think it was just an anti Motherwell decision day. I think it sums up when Moult beat 2 men and clear through when Thomson gives a foul for us, obviously advantage rule does not count for us.
  16. Is it made public what the club gets from BT for televising the game, if memory serves me correctly I think it is not much for the group stages, but I think as the competition progresses the money increases?
  17. Quite concerned about our injury list after Wednesday night's bruiser. SR mentioned in his post match interview that there were concerns on a few, I suspect Tanner a big doubt and cannot imagine Frear being fit either for Saturday, maybe our first test for our small squad of players?
  18. Does Dunne's red card mean he misses the next league game or does just miss the next league cup game?
  19. Just back from Dingwall and have to say a cracking game with both teams doing well, but have to say the best team won and was well derserved victory with Carson (who had a wonderful l save when scores were 2-2) Henneghan, McHugh, had excellent games, but the man of the match was Cadden, he gave the County left back a torrid time. All the rest of the players still had a good game, only worry was Tanner was limping badly at the end of the game and would think he might be a doubt for Saturday. There was even about 300-400 Motherwell supporters there tonight, which during the week has to be commended
  20. Nice to see Connor Ripley getting a new 3 year contract for Boro and then out on loan to Burton, obviously Boro see him for the future
  21. Having watched the highlights I think Mr Moult was a very lucky man not to be sent off with that tackle just outside the penalty box, especially when he was on a yellow card.
  22. I also thought that Dunne had a reasonable game, my worry is Rose, I just hope he improves!!
  23. I really do hope SR knows what he is doing. I did have faith in him last season, unfortunately I have my doubts. The team certainly needed refreshing after what we went through last season, but I am just not 100% convinced that we will be better of than last season! Fortunately he quite rightly addressed the goalkeeping problem from last season. I just feel we are getting third or fourth rate type players from the English lower divisions and as someone also mentioned I think our team will have the lowest amount of Scots playing for us. Our latest addition Ellis Plummer I know absolutely nothing about him apart from being a product of Manchester City youth team, but does not necessary mean he is any good. My own worry is also if we loose Moult/Cadden at the last minute with no replacement before the deadline. I will be estatic if we do better than last season, but with ten new players in place I have my doubts.
  24. I am sorry based on our last few games, I think it is us that are there for the taking. I really hope I am wrong, I think our team like Rangers are still bedding in new signings, I am still hopeful, but I fear Rangers will be just too strong for us.
  25. What's this got to do with former MFC players!!
