When is Vale projected to start playing again?

If Miller is good enough to play for the national team he should be selected. Many players have started their full international careers as teenagers. So do we regard Miller as good for an 18 year old or good in comparison to other players? I sometimes wonder if we actually do our young players a disservice by treating them with kid gloves due to their age.

Some very civil posts. Am I on an alternate steelmen in line? š No trying to convince each other that your viewpoint is correct. Just sharing opinions on individual perceptions of SK and his time here. I find it quite interesting seeing how each person views his performance and interested to see if peopleās assessments will change/align as we go through the season and beyond and also to see if SK changes/learns as he progresses.

He will decide where he goes so we can only hope that he gets better offers from outwith Scotland.

Well first game at Fir Park was a dour 0-0 tie

We have a run of about 6 games ahead of us that are winnable if we play well, although for some them of a draw would not be a bad result. Since we have already won 2 league games in a row the chances of us achieving 8 wins in a row are slim and probably the chance of us going 8 in a row undefeated are less than 50/50. So all we can do is focus on one game at a time and weāll see how things end up. COYW

I think the law talks about natural position and that natural position can be different depending on what the player is doing. I donāt know how they coach the refs on determining the correct call nowadays but in my mind first two questions should be 1. did he deliberately touch the ball with his hand/arm? 2. did he deliberately make himself bigger? if the answer to either of those questions is yes then the player should be penalized and be at least yellow carded. Red card for saving it being a goal. No question regarding proximity to where the ball was played or if it ricocheted as that comes under consideration in the questions. That covers the defensive end at the attacking end itās much more clear cut 1. did the scorer (deliberately or accidentally) touch the ball with his hand/arm before the ball went over the line? if the answer is yes then goal is disallowed. However that then leads us onto the question of punishment. I think the following should apply 1. accidental. No card 2. Deliberate scoring goal red card (balances red card for a defender saving a goal). deliberate controlling ball yellow card I think that leaves one point to be resolved discussed. The attacker will have goal disallowed even for accidental hand ball so if a defender stops the ball going into the net with accidental hand ball should a goal be awarded? Penalty? doesnāt seem like there is 100% way to guarantee the same decision for every situation but surely it can be much more consistent than it is now. I donāt think it should have been penalty against Halliday. To support my impartiality, I donāt think Lennon millers goal should have been awarded earlier in the season when the ball ricocheted around and clearly hit his arm before he scored. So much for my earlier statement above āat the attacking end itās much more clear cutā š

If the ref gives a PK and he disallows the goal, surely both players should have got yellow cards but neither did.

Iām not sure he deliberately used his hand/arm. I think he tried to header it but totally mistimed it and it went in via his arm. However, regarding the jist of your argument, Iād agree. edit: just looked at highlights. It was deliberate. A volleyball-esque move to direct the ball into the goal. Did he even get a yellow??

SK doesnāt have a monopoly on signing bad players. Itās been going on for a long time.

I agree with your sentiment but I think 3rd is a typo, you mean 6th.

Good to see Paton back. Good to see some of the new players putting in good performances and improving. Good to see Wilson established a first team regular and then of course, just good to see Miller strut his stuff. Plus we have a keeper who looks safe and confident. So lots of positives. I think we are now reaching the stage where the players we have are not suited to the style/tactics employed by SK. We have Watt, Stam,Moses,RobinsonHalliday not suited to be closing down bodies and chasing hopeful (hopeless?) long balls. With Nicholson and Slattery still to come back I think we are approaching the point where SK will have no choice but to play a more attacking formation against most teams. Credit to everyone for grinding out games and putting points on the board up to now. However, I think we could win games āeasierā and with a more enjoyable style utilizing the players we have, in a more attacking style which will get more out of the players we have.

Thought over the whole game Kaleta was our best performer. He is turning out to be a good addition.

Obviously still a lot of inconsistency with hand ball. The guy hammers the ball very close to Halliday, his arm in a normal position for his movement. No way he could get his hand out of the way. Their disallowed goal correct. Rule clearly states even if accidental you canāt score a goal with your hand/ arm sounds biased but I think Iām being neutral
