I did say before the game I’d rather get beat and have no injuries. I have a Hard time getting worked up about the league cup, ao I’m over it already.
Having said that, it was a dreadful performance on a dreadful pitch but might have brought us back to earth with a bang and help us realise we still have a lot of work to do to be. Good team. With everything rolling along smoothly we might have been getting ahead of our station. This is a stark reminder. So hopefully gives us a kick in the arse to be up amd at it on Thursday night.
Agree that there are benefits to get from playing more games but AJ mentioned in one of his interviews about the drawback of not being able to train and practice the tactics physically.
So when you look at how we are playing now, without being able to practice, with our injury list and hopefully with couple new players to be added, we are going to be in for another enjoyable season I think
I’ll be surprised if we don’t give away a gift at some point. Hopefully not one that costs us points or knocks us out of a cup. But we are all aware of the risks and willing to take the risk to watch our team play some lovely stuff.
I was a bit disappointed with Said the first half but as someone mentioned he was probably asked to play a specific role. Second half the shackles came off and we saw the real said.
Many good/great teams have that special player who they just put on the park amd let them strut their stuff. For us, that’s Ibrahim Said !
