How’s many points do You normally need to make top 6 after 33 games?
-
Aberdeen had a couple of short spells but all in all we kept our game Going for 90 mins which is good to see. We’ve had a few games where our game has dropped off second half or after 60 mins or after subs. Thought subs some well when they came on today but more importantly the team performance didnt drop.
-
No real standouts but probably between Welsh and Slats. Went for Slattery who ran himself into the ground.
-
Only league defeats are Celtic and Falkirk.
-
That’s a compliment to us. My comment was based on some of their more recent results but you’re right about today, we totally dominated them.
-
We can’t fix everything at once so just the fact of us having 65% of the ball is the best way for us to “defend”. I think we all agree we need to improve up front. If we can add the end result To our play then not many teams will beat us, even if we don’t improve defensive wise.
-
Aberdeen have improved a lot since we last played them amd yet we still dominated the game and thrashed them one each. thought we played decent and were pressing for a winner. I think Hendry starts next game.

I’ll take a Point

Slattery looks knackered

Good answer Motherwell
-
They wouldn’t look at it since technically it is not a red card offense in itself.

I thought we have been better at getting the ball in the box butbwithernourntouchnlets us down or no one is getting on the end of it Don’t see their left full back lasting 90 mins either second yellow or hooked. He’s had a few fouls since he got booked. I’d be surprised to see him come out for second half.
-
Our first touch in the box is letting us down
-
Again, a draw here might be best for us with both teams dropping 2 points.
-
Good to see Falkirk drop a couple of points. Good for us if we can take care of our stuff.

You do have a valid point and it may be that the learning curve for that is a bit longer, to find that balance between being patient and retaining possession versus taking the risk in the final third. Having said that we have scored several goals where we have transitioned quickly from defense onto attack and scored. Dundee Utd game being a prime example with the two goals we scored. Also, I do think we have seen us start to use longer passes more often but not with big success rate. To your general point though, we do have to find the killer/penetrating pass more often. Is that due to lack of movement up front or midfield slow to see opportunities or deciding not to risk loosing possession? Hopefully we will continue to improve in areas as required to help us win more games. -

No argument there but will one be available that we can get? Although, if Wellsaid is correct, then perhaps. -

January window keeps getting mentioned but I’m not so sure it’s going to help that much. Would be great if I’m wrong but I suppose we’ll find out fairly soon. -
Hopefully they pick up a few knocks on their travels and come back tired and sore. I’ll take any advantage we can get. we are more than capable of winning this but we need everybody to play well and take our chances when we have them but at the same time, no silly defensive mistakes.

I don’t like it when MJC predicts a win for us, so I’m quite happy to see him predict defeat

I’m not overly upset at 4-1. At 2-1 we had abandoned defending to try and save the game. We didn’t manage to score again amd they punished us at the back. -

Not a good football weekend, Austin FC beat 1-4 at home by LAFC in play off. Porteus was playing for LAFC alongside Som and Loris. -
Not sure how this will go. Hope we get a reaction from the team to help us win this one. We’ve already had 2 shut outs against them so I don’t see that happening 3 games in a row. A draw would be decent as I think they have got better since we last played them but 3 points would make a tremendous difference Toni’s as we have a difficult set of games this month. Killie away then hibs and hearts at home. should be two good games at home, even more so if we can get some wins.

Not sure why Welsh didn’t start yesterday. I’d say our center back pair should always be Welsh +1, probably McGinn at the moment. I’d stick with Fadinger and Watt. Perhaps JT sub and RCC starting? Or start JT to see which one we are getting and then decide from there. Slattery to start. O’Donnell and Johnny. One starts one subs on don’t care which order. Longelo starts since no real option but hope he’s a bit more aggressive down the line, like he was doing a few games ago. Give Hendry a go to start this game. I think he’s looking better each game. No reason we can’t do well in this game other than it’s not very often we beat Aberdeen 3 times in a row.
