We have let Livi have the ball a fair bit in their half as we decide when to press and when not to press

2 goals, hit the post, defender off the line and some good saves from the goalie. Big mention to Ward though, for that early save. I hope we can score another couple and keep clean sheet to improve our goal difference. Might come down to that at end of season

I agree, expecting them to get right in our face. I think this will be a very tough game but as long as we score one goal more than them, I’ll be happy. bonus if we come out of it with no new injuries.

I think someone had a related comment a couple weeks ago on that same line of thought but saying it’s probably to Celtics advantage to have him play for us to increase chances of us beating other teams challenging Celtic amd of course we can’t use Welsh when we play Celtic.

Could be! Then Celtic can be telling him, “it’s not our fault, it’s those Motherwell bastards who won’t pay their share of your wages”. I don’t know how the loan deals work but we had him on a season loan, with an option to recall him, obviously. However, once they recall him is that the original deal/terms cancelled or are the original loan terms still active? Maybe depends on wording in the contract? If they had any decency or integrity they would send him back to us to complete the loan deal as originally agreed upon rather than put the boy on the shelf for half a season.

I never realized that. Killie and Livi. Losses to the uglies and 7 draws. I think we have a bit more about us now so hoping we maintain our home form and improve on away results this round of fixtures. Hearts may struggle to keep their momentum going with Devlin and Shankland out for a bit.

I wasn’t overly impressed with him but that was a totally different team/set up so if he impresses JBA in training he may well get a second chance.

I’m more hoping for incoming news but obviously it makes sense to part with players who don’t appear to be part of our future plans and either save that money or put it to good use attracting or keeping people that we need. I’m sure quite a few people will know better than me but I get the impression that we are getting to a stage where our player base has a much lower number of players surplus to requirements amd that the ones we have all have something positive to contribute to squad strength. It seems like for several years we were Lucky if we had 11 decent players to Start games and any subs or injury fill ins were always significantly a weaker option. I’d say we have a squad with some better individual players but also that JBA’s approach has made it more conducive for players to perform better on the park.

I don’t see us selling any of our (key players) to another Scottish club in this window and hopefully not any window. Watt’s injury probably helped quell speculation about hm. With respect to Welsh, Celtic are really doing the dirty on him and messing us around as well. Again, reading what Celtic are saying, they apparently have no plans to play him and so will be paying him 10k a week for nothing. I just don’t get the point in what they are doing.

I really hope we keep them for next season. What a great group of players as a team and individually. Been a while since we have had so many talented players in the team at the same time. We had a few years there where we struggled to have even 1 player who could pass or control a ball amd now look at us !!!

John Sutton, another good example. Scoring regular for us but went to Hearts and didnt cut it there. Came back to us and started scoring regularly again. Definitely a lot depends on your team Mates and what style/tactics your team plays. Perhaps a similar situation for Watt, absolute standout player in our team but would he excel if he moved to Rangers? However, bottom line, individual will have much better take home pay after a transfer. Other consideration (or gamble) is wait longer to move amd make even more money after a transfer.
