For me it’s more the manner of the defeats rather than the fact that we lost the games. Frustrating when you see how little there is between the majority of the teams and we can’t raise our game enough to take advantage. As you say, I think we need to beat St Mirren to pick up 3 points and finish the first round of fixtures in the top 6 which will be a very good achievement. Then we have to pick up more points in the second round than we did in the first round.

A lot of fair comments Regarding our play today. Can’t see why the manager thinks we played well. Having said that I am struggling to recall Kelly actually making a save. Of course had he made 2 saves that would have been better but not pinning the blame on him. Similar to the Hearts game, but we just give away soft goals. I thought we had fixed that but the last three games have seen that become our trademark again. Also despite not playing well we see the opposition keeper called on to make some pretty decent saves. Alexander needs to shore up the defensive part of our game again and sort out the midfield to where we can actually play some football. Up top I think we have enough to get by and score some goals.

I thought that as well. We certainly had the edge at that point until McGinley effd it up. Yes terrible defending from the free kick but we should never have been put in that situation. He has acres of space and time to start counter attack and decides to pull some fancy move

I like O’Donnell but he really should be contributing more to the team and has been suspect, defensively, the last few games. A few changes needed for the St Mirren game. Hoping for a good display and 3 points since my son will be over in Scotland next week and going to the 2 games. Maybe he’ll bring some luck with him.

We are giving goals away. Considering how bad we are playing we show up fairly well in the stats. If we can actually get some kind of improvement, even a small amount, and stop giving up stupid goals we might start to pick up points again.

McGinley needs to be dropped. Put Carrol in. Goss is invisible, O’Hara instead of him. McGuire in for Grimmy. Roberts in for Woolery. Shields in for KVV
-
Get McGinley off and never put him back on

O’Donnel needs to get the cross in

I think we have enough to take a point or even all three. Like most games this season it will depend on who turns up on the day. Since we haven’t scored in our last 2 games I think we are due a couple of goals.

For all we have lamented the last 2 performances, Kelly really hasn’t had much to do. Although he has looked a bit dodgy I’m sure he will recover quickly and be one of our standouts again. I think our squad is better than it has been for a couple of years and that Alexander needs to be a bit more savvy/flexible with his tactics or formation/selection. We have players who will fit formations other than 4-3-3 and I’m pretty sure 4-3-3 is not the best choice for every game. Here’s hoping we get back to scoring and winning ways against Utd.

I’ll take it

That would be the excellent ball winning challenge that Mugabi had where the referee did not even consider blowing for a foul but unfortunately Turnbull got hurt.
-
Agree. I thought his inclusion would be more gradual. Found it surprising that the manager kind of threw him in at the deep end.

I’d say Justin has shown more than Goss and more suited to a right midfield role. perhaps as below with +1 being any one of Sondre, Lamie or Mugabi kelly O’Donnell Ojala +1 Carroll Justin Slattery O’Hara Roberts KVV Watt Alternatively stick Grimmy at right back and push O’Donnel up to mid right
-
Not a terrible display but far from a good one. We just didn’t look fired up for it. At least Justin looked up for it when he came on. Despite loosing our last 2 games we are still only 6 points behind the leaders which is pretty decent for us considering the last couple of seasons. Need to start scoring again and pick up some points for the last 2 games of the round.

Too many invisible players today.

Done

Still in it. Just need better second half performance all round.
-
Might be worth sticking KVV on against their center half and take off Woolery or Roberts. Need a bit more out of Goss.
-
Haven’t seen much from Goss

I’m always hoping they do well and certainly happier when they win. So am I a Scotland supporter? Yes, yes I am. Possibly tougher than being a motherwell supporter. While I felt good that we beat Israel I did have some other feelings in that i began to think of the reaction, comments and reports. Such jubilation at beating Israel 3-2 at Hampden. Changed days indeed and a reflection partly on how many smaller countries have improved but perhaps more so on how far we have regressed or failed to improve along with the major teams. Yet, we still managed a decent result against euro finalists at Wembley so how far away are we from being a decent national side? Quite the conundrum. Die hard ‘Well fan and still patriotically supporting Scotland.
-
I’m hoping for a “Where did that result come from” kind of day with a legendary KVV performance but willing to accept a crappy 1-0 fluke goal, stolen 3 points. Hmmm actually that might even be better.

…… and we are done!!

Did I hear them say Dykes and Christie to miss Moldova game? Who will they draft in?
