All 3 of them can actually control the ball, hold it or beat players. Will take some time to get used to that after watching our more recent signings over the past 2 years or so.

Maybe some will be allowed to leave the club by mutual consent, after the deadline, so they can go find a club. I think that’s allowed?

No! They must be judged now before seeing them play. If you wait till after seeing them a few time that is just going to bias your decision.

For me playing the right formation is more about getting the most out of your players on the park than it is matching up against the opposition. If you get the most out of your players then you have a better chance of winning. …… having said that I miss the days when you would stick a player on top of the opposition star player and not give him a minutes peace. I see that as a perfect role for Grimshaw.

Not many hours left for us to bring in a star midfield general

The trouble with a flat back “any number” is that one pass can take them all out. So hopefully we beef up the midfield as well.

I think it’s fair comment to expect a better level of play than what we have seen for the most part. I’m sure GA would probably agree with that and hopefully has a plan to get us there. Most people seemed to really enjoy the Hibs game even though we got beat. Obviously we can’t be dropping points every week but why can’t we play like that more often and pick up points?

I can’t recall 100% but I think both feet were off the ground and literally went flying in. Once you do that I think ref is going to deem it out of control and issue a red. There some comments about the refs line of sight but hid he sees both feet off the ground that’s probably enough to make him pull the red card regardless of what else happens.

The short glimpse of Goss, looks like he might be handy signing. Would like to see Van Veen start next game. Decent start to the season points wise but still not convinced by us playing 4-3-3. Would be nice to see us play some football…… and keep picking up points as well

Thought we done well to see the game out with 10 men.

Initially I thought Carroll’s tackle was a good hard challenge but in the brief replay looks like both feet left the ground so pretty much not under control.

Not sure what that is but when O’Donnell and Woolery both play Woolery clogs up the wide space and O’Donnell has nowhere to go.

I thought he struggled that game because he was stuck on the left wing but maybe just a bad day.

Watt playing just behind the front 2 of Woolery and Van Veen with freedom to roam where he wants? Or is it a narrow front 3 to leave space for the wing backs to attack ?

Just as dreadful to watch but much better running down the clock up in the corner as far away from our goals as possible. My preference would be to maintain possession of the ball by passing around but I’m not sure we have the ability to do that.
