  1. I’m surviving almost 2 years of the pandemic but not sure if I’ll make it through the 3 week winter break with no football
  2. True statement to start with. Had the pre contract been with a team from another league I’m sure most people would have been delighted for him. However, since it’s with a direct rival it’s hard to wish him well, although having said that I hope he does well personally for his family but that Utd don’t finish above motherwell any season. The hard decision is do we sell him now(would Utd pay enough?) or do we keep him till end of Season. Personally I agree with your last statement that we do not move the league’s top scorer to a rival mid season. So then we come to the issue of play him or not. So that will come down to Watt, the manager and how other players perform.
  3. Was fairly subdued game with both teams not doing much. Not sure I would say we didn’t play very well or that we played well. It was just “meh” not good but not bad. Having said that, the defense looked comfortable and we did score 2 good goals. So Hooray, 3 points to us.
  4. A wee bit scary how “easily” we have won the last 2 games without playing overly well. Last 2 games very comfortable.
  5. Strange game. We didn’t do much but scored 2 goals. Looked totally comfortable the whole game then gave one up. Then basically seen out the remainder of the game with some very good time management. All in all a good finish to the year
  6. I’m surprised/disappointed that it’s been done now. I thought end of season to consider any offers he got. Perhaps this one is really good for him and that’s fine but from motherwell perspective to sell your “best” player to a close rival during the season does not make sense. If this had been him going to a team out with Scotland it would be a different story.
  7. I’d like to see us offer a bit more going forward.
  8. Take his goals away and see what position we would be in. Take that number of places and multiply by 80k. Then double to cover the remainder of the season. If Utd don’t want to pay that then he stays. Whether he plays or not the remainder of the season is up to him and the manager.
  9. As long as he does earn it, that’s fine.
  10. What the consensus, will Watt be playing against Livi? Will there be any statements from the club or Watt? Either way I’ll be up to watch it at 9am. COYW!!
  11. I think pre contracts should be scrapped. Just stick to the windows for any transfer talks etc. they just put teams and players in awkward positions.
  12. Lol yep. She’s got it but since she was already vaccinated she’s doin fine. You wouldn’t even know she had it. Other than we made her eat in the front room last night. Merry Christmas and happy new year to everyone. Hoping we make it over at the third attempt, this coming year.
  13. I still find it hard to believe that him or his agent would have already accepted an offer from Dundee Utd. Rather than wait till end of season to see what offers are on the table. So I guess we will learn more over the coming few days.
  14. That was my point. Not upset with motherwell. Upset with whoever leaked it ahead of the club being able to say anything
  15. My issue is not so much with Tony Watt as it is with the way we have found out. Would have been much better all round had an official announcement came from Fir Park which would have been able to also explain the details. Not intricate details but at least how it was going to work and when. Just now it’s just hanging there. Not sure if it s agent or Dundee Utd or who but should have been kept under wraps and announced when finalized. I also wonder how this has happened. Are there not fixed dates for when negotiations can take place? Obviously someone has been negotiating, are they violating any rules? Should be punished if they have done.
  16. In the likely event he doesn’t stay I hope he goes down south and has a good 2 or 3 years or more. But first of all I hope he has a blistering rest of the season for us.
  17. That’s still positive just not as positive
  18. Expect a tougher game next week but still winnable as long as we put the effort and focus into the game. Would be nice to go into the new year, clear in 4th but 1 game at a time.
