  1. Well played Stephen O’Donnell. Another fine game for Scotland. Read some amount of shite spouting forth on face book, pre match. Half the fkn idiots not even aware that Patterson was suspended. Maybe they need to sort themselves out before talking crap about others.
  2. I’m assuming he aggravated groin strain he got a couple of weeks ago?
  3. Gave it to KVV for 2 goals and not getting sent off. When their guy went marauding up that right wing in first half, KVV actually had the sense not to stick his foot in and pulled back.
  4. Difference today was that we didn’t shoot ourselves in the foot. We had a damn good try at it a few times but managed not to. Next game against Hearts which is not beyond us winning. We gifted them 2 goals at Tynecastle. If we can avoid the self destruct button we have a decent chance.
  5. I also like O’Donnell and I do think he is a good player. However, I’d say he is going through a run of bad form. That’s said as a comparison of how good he can be and not as a comparison to other players. Mugabi has played well enough to merit maintaining a starting spot in that position but remains to be seen what GA decides for the hearts game.
  6. Well Bevis has given GA that problem to deal with. Does he drop him after another good display in that position? Im still not keen on McGinley. Dare we put Lamie there or is Lamie only reliable at middle o defense? I prefer Carroll over McGinley but obviously GA doesnt. Hard to argue with top 6 placing after away win at Aberdeen, 2 games into second round of fixtures.
  7. Credit to Lamie coming on and playing well. He’s looked solid this season so far. Bevis again having a good game at right back. Woolery contributed well when he came on to take pressure off the defense and we managed the last 10 mins pretty well. If only we can fix the midfield. Did see a wee bit more from Goss this week so maybe he will continue to contribute more as each game goes by. Thought O’Hara put in a power of work but still no “football” from the midfield and still too many slack passes but certainly more tolerable when you get the 3 points.
  8. Didn’t think we would last 90 with 11 players.
  9. Was good to see KVV scoring a couple. If we can decent balls in more often I’m sure he’ll keep scoring.
  10. Well that was very unexpected especially after the first half. Just wait till we start actually playing football.
  11. Our big hope of a goal is Joe Lewis but we can’t even get the ball near him
  12. Dodgy on the yellow cards. So I hope we can keep 11 players on the park. Not an ounce of football from us. At best we might get a 0-0. Don’t look like we have a goal in us
  13. Slept in. Doesn’t look like I missed much. No surprise there
  14. Well that’s thing it’s not so much the formations a team plays but more applying the principles of the game. Spread out when in possession and compact when not in possession. How do you transition between defense and attack or attack to defense. We are terrible at these basic concepts, because I think, the tactics seem to be howf it and chase. So your point is valid in that, regardless of formation, if we persist with the same tactics we are not going to make any formation work.
  15. I think a lot of people on here agree with moving to 3-5-2. It seems a better system to get the best out of the players we have. However appears that GA doesn’t see it that way. I think we would have a solid back 3 with decent cover for any injuries etc. probably get more out of O’Donnell and Carroll would be a better fit on the left side and up front Tony Watt plus one would hopefully be getting more chances created for them. I think the performances, individual and team wise would improve immensely moving from 4-3-3 to 3-5-2
  16. Was 2-3-5 when I started going to the games. Must be older than I think I am.
  17. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect players at the level to be able to control and pass a ball around. However, I think they are being told not to do that. Which is mind boggling when you set up as 4-3-3 which is based on being able to maintain ball possession. He’d be as well playing a 6-0-4 because effectively we pretty much have 0 in most games we play and generally miss out the mid field anyway.
