  1. I was a bit worried about today after all the effort expended at Aberdeen but well done to the players for maintaining the energy level and dominating possession. Missing 2 of our starting forwards today so perhaps not surprising we failed to score, especially against opposition whose main focus was to stop us scoring. Hoping we get back to full strength as quick as possible for our remaining games.
  2. While there is a long way to go we should be aiming to go into the split with 4th place minimum guaranteed or very close to it. It’s unlikely that any of our competitors are going to get 15 points post split more like a max of 9 points. We are already 10 and 12 points ahead of Livingston and Hibs so it’s a reasonable target to aim for. Having said that we do have to keep our feet on the ground and just take each game one at a time, focus and apply on that game before thinking about next game. COYW!! 10 games to go and if we can muster equal amount of points that Hibs and Livi get them we are there
  3. Gallagher has one scary moment which hopefully turns out to be a good reminder to him not to be too casual. Hartley seems to be improving with distribution and less aimless punts up the park. Thought Donnelly has a good game but had he caught that guy it would have been a straight red instead of a yellow. Scott has a ton of skill but needs to add end product, whether that’s a goal or a dangerous ball into the box. McIver needs to be a bit quicker and more aggressive in the box which will come with more game time I’m sure. MoM for me was Campbell, just his usual self showing for the ball, solid tackling, always supporting. I think this is his best season so far.
  4. And of course a chance to put Livingston in their place next week !
  5. We moved another point ahead of killie, Livingston gained 2 points on us but I am more concerned about Hibs and obviously the did not gain anything on us. So........ c’mon St Mirren !
  6. Especially with 2 of them being a against Aberdeen and Hibs.
  7. I’m not sure about Scott and illic where they are. Think I’d rather see them switch to normal side.
  8. Also doubling up on Scott so we need to move the ball quickly to take advantage of any space they are leaving. We are on top but need to get a goal or two to reflect our play
  9. Polworth getting caught on the ball quite a bit so far
  10. So 4-4-2 at home Scott and illic up front? Or 4-3-3 with Donnelly Campbell and Polworth midfield and Scott, Manzinga and Illic? Or does Seedorf start? Of course the formation can change during the game but not sure how we will start. I’m thinking since Long is out he may start 4-4-2 to include O’Hara and keep the game tight and move to a 4-3-3 if we go behind
  11. Any news on Long? Late fitness test? What formation do we start with?
  12. Felt good the other week when we done it. I could handle that again.
  13. Actually I think that’s where Turnbull stands out. He very rarely gets caught on the ball and always seems to have plenty of time and space. Donnelly and Polworth tend to get caught on the ball, more so the later it gets in the game. Edit: having said that Polworth is quite clever at cutting across players catching him up from behind and “making” them pull him down. Donnelly just uses brute force to win it back.
  14. I thought last night was a tremendous physical hard working effort from the whole team. However I felt we didn’t really play any glowing football when we had the ball. We have played some nice stuff this season in flashes. If we can combine last nights hard work with some nice football then 3rd place will be a skoosh
  15. So who do we drop for Turnbull? What formation do we favour ?
  16. Maybe we should wear it at home! 5 of our 8 defeats have been at fir park.
  17. Thanks! That was a good read. Not sure how far back you went but my favorite was one guy saying “ Long could cause our defense problems” to which another sheep replied “long john silver could cause our defense problems”
  18. A hard working well earned 3 points. Every man put in a great shift. I think right at the end that was Carroll pressing up past the center circle. Was worried when we showed our hand and put Mugabi on with 15 mins to go but the team done well. After all that effort I hope we can recover for the weekend. But fir sure, our boys showed up.
  19. We don’t have enough energy to press high and get back
