A lot to ask from the team considering our up and down performances this season but if we can beat aberdeen and Inverness I think we'd be in the top 6. That would be 5 wins in a row and we don't do that too often but top 6 finish should be the goal as opposed to the goal being avoid play off spot. Top 6 would obviosuly remove all the pressure and hopefully get us some extra gate money in with larger away crowds, depending on the annual fixture fiasco outcome. Plus the higher you finish the more money you get. should we change the name of this thread to "top 6" ? :-)
  5. The players should be looking forward to this one. Pressure eased a bit, confidence up a level or 2 after 3 wins on the trot but as you say will be interesting to see who we have available. hopefully a good size away support. Perhaps a game more suited to our coounter attacking approach? Looking forward to it. I'm going for 4 in a row COYW
  6. Considering the season we have had, Moult has done very well in scoring so many. I think we may have found our replacement for Higdon/Sutton. Seems like he has the knack of scoring enough that he could out perform them plus he is a lot more mobile then either of those two. Here's hoping he stayson and we get a team that can create a lo tmore chances for him. Our season will no tbe a complete waste in as much as I think we have unearthed 3 very decent players in Moult plus Hall and Cadden.
  7. Definately African! I was also practising some hypocrasy ...no howfing it up the park........(except for the last 5 mins)

The one good reason to end up in the bottom 6 would be to beat Accies in the game that sends them back down
  9. 4 games to get out arses into the top 6 and enjoy a stress free end to the season
  10. At least they have been booked and not got off Scott free
  11. The players have got to go into this game with the right attitude. Get right in their faces when they have the ball but try and play football when we have the ball. no just howfin it up the park............although that wil be accpetable in the last 5 minutes.............. We have to go at them right from the kick off and put them back on their heels. I agree with McGhee that previosu results don't mean anything. If we turn up and play like we are capable of, then we can beat them but we can;t afford to have any players hiding. 4 -1 for the Well

Looking at our 5 games to the split I think we need to take 6 points form the accies and Utd games. Might not get a lot from Aberdeen, Caley and Celtic, although with Motherwell you just never know. Then win 2 games after the split and I think we should be safe.
  13. The team picked today should be good enough to beat Thistle. It's up to the players to step up and put in a decent performance. and in the last 5 mins, if it's close, get the ball into the thistle half and Fkn keep it there.
  14. Playin on a decent park and we are shite at defending so I'd go with line up suggested earlier. For me I think Johnson is more suited to games where we are more likely to counter attack and I think Lionel is more likely to score than Johnson
  15. Suppose I better start buying extra powerball tickets so I can step in when Les takes his money back.
  16. Put faddy into McDonalds role behind the striker and bring on pearson? EDIT: so much for that suggestion
  17. I think we really need to just sneak an extra man on and play with 12 in order to get all that we need. Maybe we can have 2 players wear the same number?
  18. not sure but whatever it was he made a lightning fast decision. I've watched it a few times and still can't believe it.
  19. WHat's the deal with Faddy? I seen comments regarding trying to set him up with a goal in the cup, as his last game but then i see him listed on the bench at hearts. Is he signed for us or not?
  20. Sounds like we messed around with the line up too much. So half time, Chalmers off. Back line to normal 4, Cadden in Midfield. See if we can get a goal or 2 back. Just hope the heads don;t go down and we get totally hammerd. Be interesting to see the attitude in the second half. Get stuck in and play some football or heads down and give up. COYW lets make a game of it. Hopefully Hearts will be over confident and that may help us get back in the game. Over allthough, if it is a defeat as it looks like now, just a bump in the road, lesson leraned by McGhee, then lets go on another run.
  21. Nice to se us ahead of them in the league like it should be :-) So hopefully we give them a hammering to boost our goal difference but i'll take any kind of win to be honest.
  22. Although had he hammered it and the goalie saved it we would have said he should have chipped it. I think he made the right choice, as someone says, just not so good execution.
  23. How much work goes into educating/coaching the refs? Are they full time pro's or this is extra pocket money? You would think that the SPFL and the ref governing body would be working with the ref's week in week out to review their perfromances and learn form heir mistakes. From what I have seen on TV and on here it seems like the ref's are a bunch of part timers with no one mentoring them or helping them improve. It's also time to remove the cloak of secrecy/silence and establish a platform for communication so that the clubs and paying fans can get at least some idea why certain decisions have been made. The referees should be held accountable for their performances which does not seem to be the case at the moment. Everyone makes mistakes and no problem with a ref saying I got that one wrong, of course if they are saying that too often, then that would be a problem. Somehow i think thats what the refs are afraid of, all too often it would be ooops " got that one wrong". Surely, if the penalty called was reviewed with a mentor the questions would be, was it deliberate hand ball? Was his hand in an unatural poition? From the highlights i believe the answer to both is no. Having said that my gripe is not so much at this one incident as it is with the poor poor standard of refereeing. hrrruumph!!!!
  24. Just to add to add to the ineptness of the ref. Since he gave the penalty he should have booked McManus for deliberate handball
