  1. same could be said of many goalscorers, thats why they are called scorers and not playmakers or whatever. how many chances did gerd Muller make for himself? Sutton does his job if others do their's. and this is where it spills over into the managers responsibility to set up the team for everyone to do their job. Howfing longballs to sutton is a proven failed option but yet we have done it over and over !!! Considering how pish we have been and with Sutton's playing time reduced he is still only 1 goal away from being second top scorer ( equal ) in the league Again down to the manager, if you field a team incapable of making chances then don't play sutton. Having said that if you play ainsworth and Johnston as wide players I would have Sutton starting and pick from Erwin or McDonald to support him
  2. Seems to be a lot of discussion for one over the other. I would love to keep them both as they are quite different and give you options as to how you want to play. I do agree with whoever said that we should have went with ainsworth and sutton at the start against St Mirren. Erwin has potential and I think we can get more money for him further down the road rather then let him go now and get development fee.
  3. Hopefully he is aiming higher than being a Celtic player.

    Relegation

then if we draw 1-1 with Partick and Killie draw 2-2 with County then county would stay and we wuld be dead even with Killie
  5. Yep. We have got to win Saturday and hope that Killie and County don't both win Would be good if they both got hammered at weekend and we win by a few to have us going into last game with best goal difference out of the 3 teams so that In effect a draw against partick would keep us out of the play off. However I think that goal difference scenario is probably not going to happen so I am just hoping that at least one of them drop points.
  6. sittin on the toilet with 10 mins to go may be the place to be !
  7. Yes!!!! Someone needs to have a word with him. Only a matter of time before some over zealous linseman cals him for it. Our task is hard enough without giving away possesion in such a dangerous area. It's an easy fix to eliminate one risk from giving away advantage to our opponents.
  8. "McDonald has not been as influential as I thought he would". is what I said ok explain to me how I am wrong You know how influential I thought he was going to be?
  9. i'd rather see Dan in goals than Long. Doesn't seem like Long commands his box or comes for crosses any more than Dan did, plus I think Dan is a better shot stopper than Long. Regarding Hammy, I would start him. if he struggles then straker can always come on. if Laing is out then I would start O'Brien. I just don't rate Kerr at all in any position. Up front is a hard one which 2 out of McDonald, Sutton and Erwin to play? I don't think Erwin needs a rest. I'd be tempted to play Erwin and Sutton. McDonald has not been as influential as I thought he would. We know Sutton can score and Erwin can provide the mobility and although he missed a few against accies he has been creating a lot more chances than he used to. For the longest time he was just contributing effort in chasing down balls and harassing defenders. Now, despite missing those chances against accies, he is more of a goal threat. The more chances you get the more you are likely to score.
  10. I think our best chance is the team that started against accies. With possible exceptons of goalie and left back. The issue for me was the fact taht we chucked it when they scored the second. As you say we might not have been palyin wel lbut we did create so with over 30 mins to go we should have been getting even more fired up to try and get get back in the game. But for whatewver reason we threw in the towel.
  11. It's on here live at 1.30pm so I suppose I'll be working from home tomorrow afternoon
  12. Yep. Not too far fetched! Probably the most improbable thing for that scenario to happen is us winning 5 straight.
  13. Agree! You are fit then you play. can't be any other way.
  14. Even winning all 5 games does not gurantee that we will miss the play off spot. All we can do is take care of what is within our control and that is try to win each game one at a time. COYW!!!!!!!
  15. Unfortunately that's who we need to see winning their games ( except against us of course ) unlikely that we will catch accies so they might as well beat some of the teams above us. unlikely that St Mirren wil catch us so hope they also beat teams above us.
  16. isn't the same every year though?
  17. As we go into the post split it would be nice to get a hand from Accies and St Mirren. Most people feel that us winning 5 out of 5 is not going to happen so in effect we will not catch accies so lets hope they beat everyone above us. I doubt that St Mirren will catch us so hopefully they can string a few results together against the teams above us. As has been previously mentioned I think us playing county at fir park first game would be great ( as long as we win ) if we could beat them by 2 or 3 that would take care of a big chink of the goal difference since it would better ours and worsen theirs by the same amount.
  18. All we can do is try and win one game at a time and hope to get to 46 points.
  19. I think a team stays more settled when you just replace like for like. By playing sutton the manager is messing with the shape of the team that awas workign very well. But still I hope he proves me wrong
  20. With Johsnton missing I think i would have kept Sutton bench and just replaced Johnston with thomas
  21. I don't think it's meant to be fair. I am pretty sure it is meant to favour the team already in the top division so that it makes it harder for the lower division team to oust the premier league team. Regardng the other comment earlier "Its wrong they can overturn, in a few games, a season's worth of form." I don't believe it does that, your season's form either put you near the top of championship or the bottom of the premier so I think the play off between the divisions is fine. WRT to the playoffs within the championship, everyone knows at the start of the season what they are playing for.
  22. Of course, any win will do but it would be good to see us win by 3 goals or more. That would give County a couple of days looking at themselves in 11th spot prior to playin St Mirren and hopeully mess with their minds. Also hoping for some sort of reaction from the St Mirren team to getting gubbed 5-0 by us. So 4 -1 for us and St Mirren 1 County 0 throw in Killie and accies getting beat and it will a superb few days COYW
  23. We have the worst away record in the league but I think we will win this one. We are, literally, a different team than we have been for most of the season so I think the only thing to judge us by is our current form which is pretty good. Thistle seem to be hot and cold so hoping that they blow cold on Saturday. COYW !!!!!
  24. I think we will have the psychological advantage as they were seemingly looking quite safe but now are in real danger of being favourites for that play off spot, considering how us and county have been playing. I think they will be a bundle of nerves. On the other hand we are growing in confidence with each game. COYW 4 in a row please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
