Don't worry, I'll write them a cheque mate...........so they won't have to pawn anything

Any bets on our new full back scoring an OG ?
-
I wouldn't say I have singled Sutton out as being the main factor in our slump this year but I do admit to having been one of the guys suggestiong that he should be dropped in favour of Erwin. However, I would certainly not advocate getting rid of him. We know he can score goals and I am sure he will start to score moere again once we get things sorted. I think it wold be a mistake to punt him.

what is this word fact you mention?

Because, sadly, this year, that may be the best bet !

The Next Manager, Who Would You Want And Who Could We Get
texanwellfan replied to stuwell's topic in Club Chat
I find myself more and more hoping that it is someone whose name we have not seen. I have not been very inspired by the names so far. -
I'd say next 5 games are up for grabs if we can string some half decent performances together.
-
thought the flag went up fpr offside on that one ?
-
im with you on that one. I havent seen a lot but from what little i have seen Reid and Ainsworth would be in my starting 11
-
i think more than individual performances the pleasing thing for me was seeing some semblance of players beginning to link up better, running off the ball and a lot more creativity than the rest of the season so far. At last, a glimmer of hope!................however, Sutton still struggling but hopefully if the rest of the team start to play he will work his way out of the slump and back to the goal scorer he has proved he can be.

Ojamaa for me after watching full game last night. Looking more and more like what we were expecting.

Nice touch!!

Why is this thread still going? We now know the answer for a fact. YES!

(29 October 2014 - 10:34 PM) "there was a real danger of the ownership of the club being lost to the local community for the first time." ........I don't think i care about that so much as I do about the club staying in existance and being financially stable. Does this mean we have a potential buyer but the directors all want to continue to run MFC and so need a helpiung hand to ward off the buyer? I am reading it as the buyer would be buying a football club and not buying us to flatten the place and put up a housing development or something.

Well hopefully thats where the security kicks in and helsp you recoup your investment
-
Seems like a good investment opportunity with the security. Hopefully a 100 people think so enough to put out the cash. Although i'd like to hear more on the "quickly sold" and wrong hands mentioned.
-
Like weeyin says its not even a drop in the bucket for the teams down south. I wouldn't be averse to being a feeder team for one of them if they provided financial security. While 1 million is hell of a lot for us many teams down south could afford that every year to support a feeder team.
-
It mentions being "sold very quickly" and also has a mention of falling into the wrong hand. is there a potentioal buyer ?? would that buyer be the "wrong hands" mentioned? if so , why?
-
I agree with your point there STV! i think my point is that untill we start to play the style again that suits Sutton, we need another palyer in there. I don't blame Suttons lack of goals on sutton, in fact I am sure that if we give him the right service he will score goals. Right now we are not doing that but I would fully expect that at some point he would come back into the team and score goals.
-
haven't seen very much this season at all other than the aberdeen game. But based on what I ahve read and the little i have seen I would certainly pen som eplayers in from the start and persevere with a settled team as much as possible and limit the number of changes. Normally I would agree with the approach of shoring up the defence first of all but I think that has been tried and is not working plus the most that will get us is maybe a draw or two. We reall y ned to get some goals to create confidence that we can score so even if we go behind we know we have a chance to equakize. Right now we show very little going forward. Twardzik or Nielson. ( don't care ) Reid Kerr Obrien Hammell Ainsworth lasley vigurs Angol ojamma Erwin Ramsden/McManus not playing well I would persevere with ainsworth.I don;t know enough to put anyone here other than Angol I guess for Lasley and Vigurs we have Leitch and Carswell to replace them depending on perfromance and injuries. I don;t know anything about Thomas other than seeing his name on here. Sutton just not cutting it so far
-
I will give him till scottish cup. if still in bottom half, he stays till we go out of scottish cup. If we are in top 6 then we keep him or of course if we win the cup. There were many people willing to take a crappy season for a scottish cup win............Well folks this is it! I am probably in the minority thinking that McCall and the players can turn it around but time is certainly running out. I would say he has 9 or 10 games left to get us going in the other direction.
-
2 - 1 for the well
-
I seem to recall a lot of people on here willing to take a crap season, just not getting relegated, to win the scottish cup. So I would think thos same people need to allow McCall to at least stay til we exit the scottish cup. Seems like the first part is going to plan ? I stil think we will turn it around.
-
Ainsworth strikes me as a moody character. I think his confidence goes down when not picked. I think we should persevere with him for a few weeks till he hits form. Apparently thats the ploy with josh Law ??
-
Glad to see Hammell back and with Reid out injured the first 5 players pick themselves. Up front I'd go Sutton and Ojamaa Middle 4 Ainsworth Lasley Vigurs Angol or Ainsworth Lasley Carswell Vigurs
