Sorry, I don't get the " dead" season and nothing to play for.

Still hard to take even this far away. I was readin Wee Yin's posts and I am finding it hard to think of a worse defeat and it sounds like it's certainly a contender for worst ever performance. definately dreading Friday night. I'm off this coming Friday so if it's on the TV here no doubt i'll still have the game on ....................for as long as I can stand it.

No doubt about it, we are pretty bad just now despite our lofty position in the league. The season is only just over a third of the way done so who knows where we will end up in the league. Over the past few "successful" years on here, there have been many time where apparently we have been on a downward spiral only to end up in a very good position. However, that may be more difficult to achieve this season comapred to the last few but I will reserve judgement till much later in the season. Having said that, I think McCall has done enough to warrant some slack, in that, if this is ends up a bad season he should have a shot at turning it around next season. To be honest I am not even sure what the defenition of a bad season is. No european spot? not in top 6? lack of cup runs? crap viewing ? financial loss? perhaps one of those or some combination. I think if we have a manager who can consistently keep us in the top 6 then we are doing well. I think McCall will have this team finish in the top 6 and hopefully next season get us back in the top 3.

With Celtic playing Aberdeen and Inverness playing St Johnstone, it would be a good day to pick up 3 points. I think we will play better and win by the odd goal..............and I don't care how odd!

3 bad results but more than 3 bad games..............but anyway it just the same old story...........Whn we are playing good you know we are going to hit a bad patch. When we are playing bad you know we will get better at some point, so just sitting back patiently waiting on McCal and the players getting it right and hitting a good patch. it should be noted that, bad as we are at the moment, the teams around us are apparently having a great season. So i am looking forward to a better second half of the season. We get better and they get worse...........I hope!!

Hopefully we can do ourselves a big favour and pick up 3 points from this one. With Aberdeen playing Hibs and Northern Derby game it could be a good weekend for us if the lads can keep it going. I'm going for an away win for the good guys by the one goal. Edit: With the Inverness game on the Friday night the boys should be pumped up either way for the St Johnstone game. Wanting to win to keep breathing down Caley's neck or wanting to win to leap frog them into second place.

I'd love to see us give them a hammering tomorrow to boost our goal difference and confidence, with Sutton grabbing a hat trick. Having said that i'll take any kind of win that gets us 3 points.

I see also that there have been only 2 replies to man of the match thread. pretty sad when it reaches that stage. I blame the strips myself. We need to go back to long sleeve jerseys so they can roll up thereir sleeves and get stuck in. Perhaps, as some have suggested i think, lets reverse the approach. Lets go at them while it is still 0 - 0 then if they get 2 up we can revert to damage limitation. Rather than go down by 2 then start playing.

Could be another avenue for us to unearth some unknown talent with him now going to England and hopefully still retaining some affection for Motherwell. is that selfish?

Some over the top melodramatic posts regarding Faddy I think. He's not playing so well at the moment at some point he will hit form. Thats's it. No differnt to other players or teams. They all go through good and bad patches.

Don't what the financial side is but would be good if we could do a bit of business and tie up Ainsworth and Anier before they attract to much attention. especially if we onlyhave them until January.

Still lots of room for improvement ( ie how we conceded the 2 goals ) but I would say that's our best game so far in that we had much longer spells of playing well as opposed to just "flashes" of playing well. Thought ZFA had a great first half but somewhat disappeared during the second half. Carswell has definately made himself a first team regular now. Well done to the lad for stepping up a notch or two. Probably our most consistent player this season I would say, without ever really being MoM. I think his form is now allowing Lasley to come on to a better game. Can't wait for las to take another freekick, what a belter that was!!

I don't think it's coincedence that Lasley is starting to play a lot better now that Carswell is in ther performing as well.

We should get the Saudi prince instead of them getting McCall

I know we do not have a lot of money but we still need a squad, not just a team. No idea how much Bob is on but I think he might still chime in with a few goals off the bench and added to that we have not signed Ainsworth or Anier, they are on loand ( till January just ? ) So I don't think giving Bob a 2 year contract is a bad thing
