Keith Lasley - Is He Having His Best Season So Far?
texanwellfan replied to David's topic in Club Chat
igonre my previous posts ( which you probably did anyway ) i was unaware that they had changed the disciplinary procedures and of course no one ever tidies up on the internet so I was using procedures from last year. I don't have the daily record or BBC over here to keep up to date with accurate information. -
Keith Lasley - Is He Having His Best Season So Far?

Suspensions are applied based on penalty points not necessarily 6 yellows. Sent off is always an auto 1 game ban. Suspensions are applied at 18 point intervals. points accumulated per section 7 below. So Clancy has 5 yellows but he also has 1 red. so I am thinking that his points tally is 27 [12 + (5 x 3 )] next suspension point is 36 points, So I think he needs another 3 yellows before he would be suspended. I think if Jenno gets another yellow he misses 3 games. ( they take last season into account also for number of times you reached an 18 point mark. Jenno reached it twice) If Hutch gets another yellow should just miss 1 game. Section 7 Schedule of Penalty Points Sending Off Offences A1 Serious Foul Play 12 penalty points (plus an automatic one match suspension) A2 Violent Conduct 12 penalty points (plus an automatic one match suspension) A3 Spitting at an Opponent or Any Other Person 12 penalty points (plus an automatic two match suspension) A4 Denying the Opposing Team or an Opponent a goal or an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity as Defined by Law 12 5 penalty points (plus an automatic one match suspension) A5 Offensive, Insulting or Abusive Language and/or Gestures 8 penalty points (plus an automatic one match suspension) A6 Receiving a Second Caution in the Same Match The penalty points recorded will be the combined total for the two cautionable offences (plus an automatic one match suspension) Cautionable Offences Penalty Points B1 Unsporting Behaviour a) Obstruction involving bodily contact 2 b) Deliberately tripping 3 c) Recklessly dangerous play 3 d) Deliberately playing an opponent's leg or legs 3 e) Adopting a threatening and/or aggressive attitude 3 f) Holding or pushing an opponent 3 g) Time Wasting 3 h) Shirt pulling, etc. 3 i) Handling the ball deliberately 2 j) Feigning injury 3 k) Simulation 3 l) Action(s) deemed by the referee to be inflammatory 3 m) All other offences deemed by the referee to be unsporting behaviour 1 B2 Dissent by Word or Action 3 B3 Persistently infringing the Laws of the Game 3 B4 Delays the restart of play or fails to respect the required distance at the restart of play 1 B5 Entering or re-entering or leaving the field of play without the referee's permission 1 -

after doing some digging http://soccernet.espn.go.com/team/squad/_/id/266/season/2010/league/all/motherwell?cc=5901 looks like he had 7 yellows in the SPL last year so if i am reading the SPL disciplinary procedures correctly I think that incurs a 2 match ban ( over and above the automatic 1 game ) and so misses Dunfermline and Aberdeen games in the SPL. -

I say 1 game for reaching 18 points but apparently they also take last season into account so if he got suspended last season for 18 points then it will be a 2 game ban and so would miss aberdeen game as well. The suspension doe not apply to the scottish cup. 3.7.2 On accumulating 18 penalty points in a League competition, a player will automatically incur a suspension for a number of matches, starting with one match for his first 18 penalty points, and increasing by one match for each successive 18 points accumulation, within a two season period. In effect, a player's record over the current season and the immediately preceding season will be taken into account. -

I think he gets auto 1 game ban and so misses the Hibs game. Thats because of 2 yellows in 1 game. His 2 yellows takes himover 18 points So i Believe he misses a game for that also. However, that suspension takes effect 14 days after the date of the incident which would be March 3rd. So he should miss the Dunfermline game. So we should have Keith for Celtic game and both Aberdeen games. Then he will not be suspended again till he reaches 18 points again. Google "sfa disciplinary procedures" -
Now that's funny!!

Think I am with the majority on this one...............carswell for Lasley. Nice simple change. If it's not working then he has the other options open to him base don how the game is going. The craigan option with hately going to Mid or daley/Humph in mid with law moving inside. I would go for the simple option first and then change it if needed.

stayed up late last night to see if Fox Soccer round up would show the goals ( prog midninght till 1am ) didn't show the goals but was excellent to hear them mention us as they ran through the scores in Scotland. Quote............" Motherwell BEAT UP on hearts despite only having 10 men for most of the second half" Went to bed a happy man.

Chompin at the bit for Yabba to get the highlights up. wish I had been there, Such a great feeling that the lads not only got 3 points from a crunch game but the manner in which it was achieved was apprentlly a joy to behold. Been a long time since I have heard so many poisitive comments. Having already won another similar crunch game against St Johnstone, this team is showing some character!!

Whatever it is long may it continue!

I'm with you weeyin. We al know it's crap so let's not encourage it. We got a raw deal but you have to stand up and say FFS this rule is stupid get rid of it. Not join in and speed up the downward spiral.
-
It's a stupid set up and although Higdon got a 1 game suspension for it, everybody needs to do what they can to stop this crap. Although I see the point being made I think the bigger picture is forget that we got shafted and do what we can to keep the game with some passion and give and take in it.................OK back to the game FKN BRILLIANT
-
If he keeps this up we know he is bound for better things but hope we can keep him till at least the end of next season. if we can keep the same squad together for another season who knows how good it could get.

What the hell, MIC. it's a great day. You go spend it all at once if you like

Haven't been this nervous about a game in a long long time. Emotions range from us gubbing them by 3 or 4 to them gubbing us by 3 or 4. Saturday can't come quick enough. Think the nerves are due to how much a win would mean to us more so than worried about dropping points. Wish there was a live stream to watch. getting updates via the shout box is going to be too agonising i think.
-
I didn't realize we owed money to John Boyle. Guess i wasn't paying attention!
-
Thats my prediction....what oddds they giving for that?
-
Not sure if I can standgeting updates via the "shout box" on my saturday morning. Maybe just go get blootered on friday night so I don't wake up til the game is finished then look at the score....................of course I could just not look atthe score thil the game is over but why miss out an an excuse to get blootered!

So what 4 teams wil bein the semi draw and what would we like that to be?
-
What an awsome move............Fkn Brilliant!!! ............ and he plays for us, can you belive it???
-
But remember Pettigrew was assisted by Bobby Graham. Not many played could control a ball like him. Didn't matter what speed or angle the ball came to him at one touc and it landed at his feet. However in saying that, pettigrew just knew how to score goals. Just natural ability, instinct can't be coached. I still think he got a raw deal as far as international caps go. And he was fast. He used to go to athletic competitions with Dalziel high, run in his gutteis and tan the arse off of all the other high school posers with their fancy track suits spikes etc.

nothing's ever simple any more is it!

i have mentioend a couple of times in differnt threads.............. Just open the gates and make it free. No vouchers no tickets. they got the money from the first gate. Just make it an open invite. simple and easy and hopefully a nice big crowd to cheer the well on to victory
-
Still think they should just open up the gates and not bother about vouchers etc etc. They got the money from the first game so just open it up and see if they can get some armchair fans off their arses to come watch. Surely get a bigger crowd to get behind the lads.

to answer the initial question of the thread 60 points.
