After going to cup final last year I'm not getting to this one, home or away, but it's great reading all these posts sounds like everyone is going to have a BLAST and looks like we wil have a decent amount of fans in Greece. Never have seen motherwell play in europe since i moved here in 1989. Closest i can relate to it is having been at white heart lane for the 3 - 2 texaco cup game..... 1970 i think. Scary how long ago that is!!!!! EDIT: Looking forward to hearing all the stories once everyone.........or at least most of you ......gets back.

I'd be surprised to see anyone leave before european games. Big cash incentive for the club with 2 chances at getting to group stage of a tournament. Not sure what all the rules are now for transfers and windows etc but the club wil find out pretty quickly into the season if they will be makin some good cash from europe. Would we ahve to sell before a certain date or else wait till January? So maybe they can hold the squad together to consoilidate place in the premier before selling anyone.

pay for the busses in the hope that it attracts more punters into the game = more money for them EDIT: Although having said that I am not sure that it will increase the numbers already decide to go anyway

I would hope McCall just tries to fill the gaps and leave the teasm as it was. So bascially we need to figure out whos is going to replace jennings and clancy. Leave Hately at right back

And no reason not to mix it up withni a game. If one way is not working then try another. Certanly nowadays it's more about a squad getting you through the season and playing the best team to win each week doen't necessarily mean the same team each week.

No problems with Jenno going nor do I ahve any issue with Mother well withdrawing offer. We stood by him fully expecting to leave at the end of the season. Plus we did'nt want to NOT play him. Motherwell had offer on the table for a while and I am sure agent had been told make up your mind by this date or we are done. For some reason that always seems to surprise people when the date passes and the chance is actually gone. Damn!! how can that be ???

using the same logic JBA they could hav ehtn epushed back on SKY by telling them that it was never goin to happen so why put it in the contract?? They hav emade noises over the years of going to England or transatlantic thingy? so there was never 100% gurantee that they would be here. Not just relegation that had to be condidered.

Not sure what's all really going on over there but if Sky do have a contract that is now being broken then they have every right to pull out. If The powers that be were stupid enough to make a deal which guranteed rangers being in the SPL then it's their fault............or the leagues fault, basically who all agreed to that. Sky are in business to make money and if they want to pull out now that rangers will be gone then I can't say much against them. They have no obligation to save Scottish football. They are playing by the rules which is all we are asking that Rangers get treated by the rules. Unfortunately this means dealing with the consequences. but instead of spending months trying to bend the rules or blatantly just ignore them the governign bodies could have been doing some negotiating and preparing for life with rangers in DIV 3 not waiting till the 11th hour then telling everyone that we stand to loose money from commercial deals because they F**ked up by assuming that Rangers would always be in the permier league. How they could have made any commitments that a team will always be in a competitive league with relegation is beyond me. Now they hav been caught out!! Next they should be thrown out !!

Thats a great article and since all we are trying to do is make sure that They are treated fairly. i.e. the same as any other team. it would appear that they really should not be accepted into the SFL because they have no history. Now had they not been liquidated then they could have been expelled from the SPL and then applied to the SFL and met the criteria of 3 years accounts. However if those accounts were supposed to show legal and proper operations then perhaps acceptance would be more of an issue. I can't help but think that Rangers have dug their own grave. They ignored the old farmers saying "if you dig yourself into a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging" right from the offset of appointing Duff and Phelps i think they pretty much ignored that advice!!................................................Anyway roll on July 20th!!!!

As should all the other teams who kne nothing about this. Perhaps this fiasco may have a positive outcome in that the idiots in charge of runing the game will be ousted and replaced by people who actually have a half idea how to run the game.

Regardless of where they end up I do need to join the Well society and do my bit at contributing to the funds. As long as Motherwell FC are doing what they can to do the right thing by the fans then I am willing to support them as we suffer the consequnces of doing the right thing. I really hope that a lot of fans who have drifted away over the years make an effort to come back and help the club through what will be some tough financial times. I would not be averse to them offering some kind of reduced entry fee for pensioners or unemployed etc. Obviously i do not get to the games but i was always a pay at the gate customer and it would not worry me that some people were getting in for less due to their circumstances. there needs to be som creative thinking in order to increase the money taken in from home games. heres hoping we can make it to the group stages in one of the european tournaments.
