  3. Chance to move into second place, albeit for a short time. 3-1 to Super Well
  4. So where in the states are you going, decorator?
  5. Based on no other reason than happy clappiness*............................. 4-1 to super Well COYW!! * i'd like to register that word now for future use in Scrabble
  6. Yes probably lindsay on the right wing and Quinn at inside left I do remember seeing Delaney play and I think Bobby ROberts was a half back. Delaney, was pretty flexible I think playing full back cntre half or centre forward. From Cleland I think
  7. That's what I remember. The first keeper I remember seeing was Alan Wylie from what I recall he was pretty decent. I think the team was alng the lines of below when I started going Wylie Matt Thompson Bobby McCallum Aitken Martis McCann ???? Hunter Mcbride ???? Weir
  8. he certaily ended up in goals at some point and you may be right that it was his first game. Was it a friendly against Tranmere? I also seem to recall him scoring a hat trick for us as well, early on in his career. we were down by 0-1 to Montrose at home with 15 mins to go. Joe got moved forward and scored 3 goals in a 4-1 victory for us.............. it would be great if someone could confirm that since the mind plays tricks after a while :-) My era of going to the games covered Bobby McCallum, Joe Wark and Tom Boyd. Moved over here in 1989 and so the rest I have only seen on TV or odd game over the years.
  9. I think I agree on McCrae. Excellent keeper and very young too. Also decent outfield player and made severalk appearances there for us, at full back, if I recall correctly? With someone mentioning McCloy, I recall hime playing outfield one time as well........... In the era before substtitues were allowed. I think it was against Killie, he broke his wrist or something and then appeared outfield for the rest of the game.
  10. Exactly!! Gave 100% !! sometime brilliant other times not so much but still a favourite with the fans.
  11. "Wattie" he's right up there with George Lindsay
  12. Maybe Randy put in a good word for us with him
  13. it doesn't sound like he's really saying very much and nothing specific
  14. Where are all the posts claiming that Johnson is shite ???
  15. That reply took 9 minutes.........Longer that I anticipated.
  16. I thought our best option was howfin high balls up to McDonald ? So apparently it looks like we had a plan A and a plan B ...........let hope plan C is to actually play some football
  17. I don't think he is rubbish but as an overall assesment I don't think we are any more or less likely to win matches when he is gone. I'll probably get pelters but I actually prefer Ainsworth over Johnson.
  18. I don't think we will miss him that much
  19. So 0-1 defeat on the cards then ? OMG I've turned into MJC
  20. Hopefully we can start the game well and actually score a few goals...enough to hang on for the win. 4 - 2 for the good guys
  21. The sad thing is that he is in the right. However, pretty much all of the ref's let it go cause there is so much going on in the box from both teams. Rather than call the first thing they see they just ignore the whole stramash. No clue how the referes are advised to handle those situations but it's certainly a problem when one of them is dealing with it in a different manner compared to all the others, regrdless of whether he is right or not.
  22. A wee joke for us older gentlemen on here? OGWT
