Earlier in the season our defence looked very comfortable. Our midfield were playing some lovely football but we couldn’t score. Now our midfield and our defense are posted missing but we are scoring a decent amount of goals. SK needs to figure out a formation, players and tactics where all 3 aspects are working. With the league being so tight a decent run of form and results will catapult any team up the league.

We need to do better at creating chances. We were doing a good job at that for a while but not a shot on target first half of the Aberdeen game. An earlier post made a fair point that it doesn’t matter when you score as long as you score more than the other team but the trouble is we are not scoring more than the other team and are having to leave ourselves even more open at the back than we already are. The players need to up their work rate, intensity and focus because that seems to be the difference between winning games and losing games. We know they can do it and they know they can do it so they just need to get it done.

I like the idea of a separate time keeper or game clock. I’m sure they could come up with a set of rules for when clock stops and starts and game at ends at 90 mins regardless of what’s happening(just like it used to be) and the clock should be available for all to see. (Perhaps just having the clock displayed for all to see might be albthats required? clock stops for below and starts again when play resumes, maybe not a perfect List but simple and captures the vast majority of the time taken up when the game is actually stopped injury, sub, goal, var review,

Heading out to the game now. COYW!!!

Well we do have an international break so let’s hope for some crappy weather in November as well

I think a big part of our issue on Saturday was we lost our focus and effort level especially for goals 2 and 3. Although goal two was a nice finish the issue came when our players all got dragged to ball and let the runner move into acres of space with no one tracking him. For the the third goal we switched off cause their goalie had the ball. This meant Gent was Miles away ffrom their attacker on the wrong side. At the same time Mugabi takes a few steps and manages to violate 3 principles of defending. He moves forward never going to close the ball down, gives upnacres of space behind him and leaves a player unmarked. Hopefully SK will get their brains working again for the next game. Also too many players walking or jogging instead of busting ass to get back between the ball and goal

Per SK’s post match talk Beireth very unlikely to make an appearance till some time in the second half. Not sure about Butcher. Bevis has played some great games but mistakes have crept back into his game but can Butcher last 90 mins?? With Miller available again I’d start with 4 midfielders and Wilco or Shaw up front then set Beireth on them. Hope the pies are good since I’ll be at the game COYW!!!!!

…. But hopefully the other game will put hearts below us

Any result puts one of them ahead of us

I didn’t go and read what it actually said in the rules and I don’t know if there is any other documents with Guidelines for referees on how to apply the rules but any time there is handball on the lead up to a goal then the team obviously gained and advantage. It may be something more around the ball coming off the players body prior to touching his hand but truth be told the whole handball scenario is still a mystery to me and seems to vary week by week and ref to ref

Accidental hand ball in lead up to goal is no longer an offense and I don’t think it was deliberate hand ball.

I was expecting more from Shaw today but perhaps get more from him playing alongside Biereth.

Well done in not giving up but dreadful in putting ourselves in that position. What a difference Beireth makes with a bit of speed. Young lad showed up well in his brief appearance and got us a point. We look much more difficult to beat when we play one up top. SK will have to figure out how to keep us solid but up the goal threat.
-
We are less effective with 2 up top or T least with the current two up top
-
Spittal struggling to complete a pass so far.
-
Midfield invisible at the moment. Missing the extra man there when we play 2 up top.
-
However you look at it, the more players we have available, the more options we have. Quite a few good options I think.

It’s alright my body constantly reminds me how old I am. No be long till you’re a grandpa!!

I think if We look deep down we’ll find MJC’s blood type is B -ve. sorry! Couldn’t stop myself. I blame Grizzly’s influence.

And avoiding a game played under conditions where it’s just a lottery who wins.
-
But the longer we wait the more chance we have of getting our full squad back and available
-
I wonder if he plans to play Clark second half so they each get some game time?
-
Wonder if we will appeal? Still not sure if VAR reviewed it at the time or not.

I’ve seen it at least half a dozen times and I still can’t see any trip or clipping of heels. You can see Casey at the referee pointing to the ground as if saying “he tripped up on the surface, not by Miller”.

Well, still in 5th after 4 defeats in a row. SK needs to find a way to get us scoring goals the we can start to pick up points again and stop the downturn before confidence starts to erode. 2 week “break” to work on things, recover from tough schedule and get some injured players back in contention.
