I forgot all about Blaney. Seems a decent starting line up. Obviously we need to tighten up defensive side of our play but we can make things so much easier for ourselves if we stop giving the ball way time after time, when we should be completing simple Passes with ease. Cut down on the long hopeless balls and play wide or through the midfield. Generally, execute on the basics and we stand a good chance of getting 3 points.

Not a popular post, I’m sure, but I’m with you. The board need to take him aside and have a word with him. Calm him down, redirect his focus onto the things that worked, re institute a firm grounding in the basics and tweak from there. Do not make radical wholesale changes from week to week. At four games or so into this bad run we were still playing very well and had we continued to play that way we would not be in this mess. However, we now have confidence/mental side of things causing us issues as well. The players and manager need to get the last 11 or so results out of their head. The focus is going forward. Consider the next 17 games as a mini season starting from scratch and focus on that league table. I’m done with sacking managers. We have already have the advantage of hindsight on that, it doesn’t work, it just leads us back to where we were. We are all in it together so the board, the players especially, and the fans need to support and encourage the manager and team. As mentioned, I think it’s very cruciaL that the board Support and guide him to keep his head straight and steer him away from panic actions.

I like O’Donnel but your last paragraph is the way to go. Spencer on right with Gent on the left. McGinn Bevis Casey back 3. Slattery Spittal Paton in between Spencer and Gent. Top two Mika and one other from Obika/Shaw/Wilkinson Having Spencer and Gent should help stretch defenses making more room in the middle or if not then it should afford some space for Spencer and Gent to fire in some crosses all round, more focus and effort is needed. We should look like we are fighting for our survival, because that’s what we are doing. We are sadly missing a Peter Hartley type leader on the field. oooopsss! Casey probably injured so O’Donnel in the back 3. Hopefully McGinn ready to come back in.

I don’t suspect he is different to any other manager. What he says on camera and what he says with the players is probably entirely different.

Yep! Number 10 ran past several defenders when ball in the air. There weee 2 or 3 other players in offside positions but none of them made any attempt to play the ball. Officiating ok in this instance. The red card is another matter though.

Fair post but can we afford to pry a “winning” manager away from a team? Even more difficult if other teams are also interested in said manager. Even then still not guaranteed that they would do any better once here but perhaps a better chance of success?

Agree, we need some financial backing for the club. Having said that I don’t think fan ownership was implemented as the be all and end all. I think any decent fan would welcome appropriate well managed investment in the club.
