  1. I think it’s vital we get another goal. If they equalize we will just crumble mentally. Certainly missing a Peter Hartley type in the team.
  2. You can see when the froze the review clearly stud raised pushing into Goss’s leg.
  3. Don’t screw this up Motherwell. Too much pussyfooting around at the back in that first half. Liable to shoot ourselves in the foot. Not saying howf it up the park all the time but several occasions where that would have been the safest option. Need players to show for early out balls.
  4. Set up nicely for embarrassing defeat now but let’s hope not. COYW
  5. Did someone actually put that forward as an excuse?
  6. It would help a lot if they had some sort of communications to allow clubs to ask questions regarding incidents and for the officials to reply. I know that could get messy but surely they could sit down for a bit and come up with some controlled system to address issues rather than just have a blanket “no response” from officials. The lack of explanation/accountability can be quite infuriating. So with VAR being new you would think they would want open dialogue to address issues/complaints/understanding of the system. Simple question, “defender clearly grabbing Lamies shirt literally almost off is back. Why was there no review or there was a review that said no foul”? Let officials or their organization respond and decide if we need to improve the VAR procedures or if cameras didn’t catch it or we saw it and decide no PK. Even just in general there needs to be a forum for dialogue between officials and clubs.
  7. We didn’t play well at all today and yet we’re still in the game. I know it’s goals and points that count but stats for the game are decent. We are not as far away from a decent team as made out to be on here. However, the run of poor results does seem to be taking its toll on the confidence of the players and certainly the fans. Stating the obvious but we have to cut out gifting the opposition goals and start taking our chances. Hammy needs to work with the players to resolve at least one of those, preferably both. Perhaps the World Cup break will do is good and give the players a chance to recover full fitness. edit: dammit! World Cup break further away than I thought
  8. I knew that McKinstry was a great player
  9. Have to say I was expecting more from him. First I head of him was when Leeds signed him but so far I’m not sure why Leeds snatched him up.
  10. Need big improvement second half. Slattery not contributing. Need more movement from the players when in possession and better passing. We seem very lethargic.
  11. Yes we are very disorganized looking. Too many slack passes.
  12. But defender should have booted it away after Kelly save
  13. They already embarrassed Rangers and Hibs and United
  14. McGinn Sol Lamie Penny O’Donnell Goss Slattery Effords KVV McKinstry I think I’d go along the lines of above. Despite our basic mistakes at the back I think the back four picks itself. If they can just cut out the basic mistakes we will be great. Goss has to be in the middle and KVV has to be middle in attack. The ready is up for discussion. So I’d say we have 7 players penciled in and need another 4 to fill in the gaps around them. The four players I’d like to see would be Cornelius, Slattery, O’Donnell, Effords, but not sure I could pick a good formation when adding those 4
  15. So what would team and formation be? I started to think about it and it got messy
  16. What Are the injuries to Effords, Moult and Aaron’s? I haven’t heard much at all. While we looked pretty bad against Celtic last night I think it’s their speed that kills us most rather than skill level. Our players just look so sluggish but fortunately the other teams out with the OF don’t really have that same level as Celtic. Spittal and Slattery looked dreadful last night. Lamie as well and then add in KVV and McKinstry. We just don’t have players fast enough to challenge Celtic but I’m hoping we will see much improved displays from our midfield to help the forwards create and score chances. Our defence actually plays well for the most part but just too many killer lapses or mistakes resulting in goals for the opposition. If we can cut out the mistakes it will make a hell of a difference. Mentality I think. Be more aggressive in attacking the ball. Get to ball first, Don’t dither. When in doubt boot it out. As mentioned in other posts it’s not even that we give up a goal as much as how big an effect it has on the rest of the team when we go behind. A win here would be a big confidence booster.
