  1. Letting ourselves down badly here.
  2. Wouldn’t know that slattery Goss or effords are on the pitch
  3. I’m hoping we can put this one to bed early and then sit back and enjoy watching the live table shifting about below us.
  4. Put your short guys on the post. Not like they are going to win any heading duels. Leave speedy guy up the park.
  5. Really? We did not concede a goal from 170 corners? You might be right but without checking that’s a difficult stat for me to believe. I’m with Yodo on leave a man up the park. Of course I’m also a “put men on the post” proponent which the pros don’t seem to do anymore.
  6. Hopefully get a good support thru for this and even more so, hoping to send them home very happy. If we can continue the good play from Saturday and improve on our defensive display it should be a good day for us. COYW!!
  7. So if we manage to maintain top 6 after next week, I think it’s not so much that the manager deserves congratulations and pats on the back because sometimes you can achieve things despite what you do as opposed to because of what you do. I hope he decides to stick with the attempt to play football rather than the eye bleeding fare that’s been on display too often this season.
  8. Im pretty sure we were as bad as a lot of people made out. I also think there was a huge amount of frustration because a lot of people believed GA had choices available that could have sorted, or at least improved, the results via team selection and/or tactics.
  9. Agree. We had two players out right who could have closed down the guy (or at least one of them) to put pressure on him crossing the ball. Both of them ran away leaving him plenty of time and space to deliver ball in the middle. O’Donnell covers well but Sol gets in the way of header.
  10. That would maybe the only change. Efford done alright but Woolery had been playing well and surprised he was dropped. I think at least see how Efford plays first half and be prepared to bring Woolery on at HT if we need a bit more.
  11. I’d say Lamie and O’Donnell were better today than Bevis or Sol. Not sure how we are going to revamp the defence. O’Donnell, Bevis Lamie, McGinley? I think the midfield played better today at the expense of some defensive duties which left us quite open on occasion but we got the benefit in attack. But agree too much fannying around on the ball at the back. That’s not too say howf it away but make the easy pass, there were plenty available.
  12. I thought O’Donnell done a decent job at LB and i’d be happy to see him start again there next week.
  13. I hope that instills some confidence in the players and we take care of our result next week and not have to rely on help from the other results.
  14. Aye! You are right. I was thinking Utd were safe in top 6 but those results are not too far fetched for that scenario to happen. I’d gladly go along with that.
  15. Still some long balls but that is perfectly fine. Coupled with some midfield play, it strikes a balance so at least the opposition don’t just have to sit back and mop up the hopeful (hopeless) long balls all game long. Surely he starts same team next week? O’Donnel decent performance at left back today. Over to you Mr Tombola!
  16. At least there appeared to be some attempt at playing football today. Thought we were very wide open defensively but if you can score goals then you can afford to take that risk although I’d rather fix that AND keep scoring 4 goals.
  17. GA making subs to try and throw the game
  18. We have fell away a bit. Need to get ourselves back on top and get a goal or 2. I don’t see us lasting 20 mins like this and not conceding.
  19. I was the same. Then he just calmly placed it in the corner.
