First time I've seen Clancy and although he played well and seemed comfortable on the ball he missed or lost a fair few headers particularly in the first half. Higdon is my vote, thought both goals were taken well, he put himself about and his linkup play was intelligent. The absolute textbook target man performance!

Win the league without the OF = 10/1 on Bet365.

We are currently 10/1 with Bet365. If I had money to spare, I'd stick it on, but I don't.

Just yous wait and see! OK it's early in the season but, assuming we bring in a player or two and keep Randolph and Murphy, why the hell can't we?! Negativity for negativity's sake. Why is it that we cannot see ourselves as 'best of the rest'? It's already negative enough to assume (unfortunately correctly) that the extent of any non-OF team's ambitions is 3rd. Why I've seen enough signs to suggest that we will be in amongst it and I would be surprised if Motherwell and Dundee United weren't fighting it out for 3rd come the end of the season.
-
I'm not getting carried away, I thought at the start of the season before a ball was kicked (after the Leeds game actually where we were easily the better side IMO) we had a very good chance of 3rd. Now the season is 3 games in I believe that more. Seriously, and without amber tinted specs, who are better than Motherwell outside the Old Firm? I wouldn;t say anyone. The window is not yet closed and although that means players can go, I don't see it. Instead, I would expect to be strengthened by probably 2 signings. We may appear light on numbers but we are only light on experienced numbers outwith the first 11. There are players there and signs are that a good few are ready to make a step up. With 2 extra players, preferably a striker and midfielder, and the contribution from younger players, surely to fuck we can finish top of a pile of dross?

Bold prediction I know, and it's easy to say at this stage in the season, but there are plenty of reasons why: - one of the best keepers in the league - a settled nucleas of a team who achieved top 6, a semi final and a final last year, and European footy for 3 years - the right blend of youth and experience - see a potential back 4 of Saunders, Craigan, Hutchinson and Hammell for an example. - football that is played the right way, with passing, build up play, guile and craft - a lack of physicality in previous years has perhaps been addressed by the addition and emergence of Hutchinson, Saunders and Higdon - a lack of a clear frontrunner as the 'best of the rest' - Hearts are in disarray, Hibs and Aberdeen will again underachieve. The main competition for 3rd is Dundee Utd and they have lost their main striker. (I also think Killie will finish top 6) - McCall seems to have a good rapport with players and fans, and players seem to have good team spirit (see Twitter). Discuss....!

Geez peace. You assume Higdon is gonna be any good for us. You assume Forbes is shite (he's not, he's one of the most technically gifted at the club). You assume McHugh is shite (he's not, he's barely had a chance in the first team and if you were there yesterday he wasn't shite). And to wellfan09 - what have you seen of Gary Smith that makes you think he's better? We have seen very little of the two of them for any length of time so lets just all wheesht.

I don't really know what to make of that game. Part of me thinks it was pish, part of me thinks there was some really good football played. Kind of reminded me of Jim Gannon football a bit in that every goal kick was short and they were playig about the back 4. I think both teams lacked a real killer instinct but Kenny Shiels made a good point in his post-match interview in that both keepers made excellent saves to keep the scores level. I was sure Jennings' was in and without seeing a replay iId be surprised to see a better save all season. I was pretty much right in front of the penalty shout from Killie after 5 mins and veryone around me thought it was a stonewaller. As for individuals, McHugh should never be getting the pelters he's getting - OK he wasn;t a worldbeater but he worked very hard, created a few good chances and should have scored the winner with a great burtsing run if Law wasn't greedy and tried to score himself. McCall should have changed it and put on Smith after 70-75 minutes cos he was blowing out his arse. Not Murphy's best performance and particularly cos I had a tenner on him as first scorer! I felt the big lumps at the back were there to be ran at and he or Humphrey never really did that, although Killie were constantly showing Humphrey inside which stunted him big style. Great defensive performance from Hutchinson and Craigan I thought although they both had dodgy moments in possession. Oh and Dayton is a prick.

Got to disagree. In my experience, Rangers fans I know deny they have a problem, thinking it's all in the past, and that the media are against them. If anything, Rangers fans take on the paranoid ramblings of Celtic fans and do them just as well if not better.

I did the 'innocently passing by' enquiry this morning about 10.30am - place was dead and I was out with 4 tickets within 2 minutes. Wasn't willing to leave it to chance. I was asked for name and address and they had my ballot entry that I wanted 4 tickets. They said it was murder trying to get a hold of people for the ballot and that was what the delay was, people at work etc etc. Their plan also has B7 allocated to us with a question mark on it, and my tickets are towards to front of B6. That would suggest to me they are filling the sections back to front and once B6 is gone there is all of B7 left.
-
Thats a nonsense. People MIGHT no get a ticket cos the system hasn't actually registered their ballot entry, or the Well end becomes full of first timers and Old Firm fans. Let's see you buy a travel ticket for £100+ when the club can't even tell you if or when you're getting a ticket and it seems to be completely random. If there are genuine fans who do not get a ticket, there will be an outrage and rightly so.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13345913.stm Would you want him back? If he could keep fit and take a pay cut I definately would!
-
Exactly. My case in point - there are 4 of us intending on going - 2 of us go to as many games as possible pay at the gate and 1 is a lapsed season ticket holder who now lives in London who would be booking time off work and travelling up. Obviously the longer you leave travel plans the more expensive they become, so next week just isn't on really. I really wouldn't mind queuing for a few hours in a general sale queue today if it meant things could be sorted. I'm sure there are several others in the same boat as my friend.
-
This is a bit of a nonsense and not letting people know til NEXT WEEK is cutting it fine! To be honest I'm sweating a bit - only reason I can't have a season ticket is because of work but have been to a lot of games this season. If anyone has a spare voucher or 4 ballot tickets that they are gonna refuse sat together I would be hugely appreciative!

I think a card display spelling out MFC would be ideal. This could be displayed in claret (or white if cheaper) writing with amber background. Would need to have printed on every card something like "Please hold above your head immediately before the players leave the tunnel and keep held until players emerge". I would be willing to do the calculations and seating plans if required. People are correct in that we will need 3 full sections but no reason why we can't have this.

I disagree, but there we go...

Ok Jeffers is better, but they are similar players. Not an out-and-out striker (depspite the fox in the box tag) - CHECK Plays just off a forward - CHECK Slight build - CHECK Ability to spot and try through balls - CHECK Teammates not quite on the same wavelength all the time - CHECK Good technique - CHECK Willingness to bring the ball down and try and make something happen - CHECK

Don't want to piss on anyone's parade, far from it, and it's great that we have people wanting to do something. But, in a dispersed stadium with Well fans in different locations, in amongst a 2/3rds empty stadium, do you really want to spend over a grand for something that will last about a minute? Would the money and effort not be better spent on the final providing we get there, and/or the remaining league games?
-
Prices are pretty standard no? £22 is an entry to the away end at New Douglas Park, and this is the semi final of Scotland's biggest cup competition and you can get a ticket cheaper than £22. It's not the prices that are the issue (well OK it'd be great if everyone lowered prices like the QF), it's the layout. Truly bizarre and counter intuitive.
-
Funny, Alan Gow was a similar type of player and yous all hated him...
-
To me, that is a completely bizarre layout. Why not have one set of fans along the North lower tier, one set along the South lower tier. Who gives a fuck what it's gonna look like on the telly, whatever way you sit everyone 15000 fans in a 50000 seater stadium will always look empty.
-
OK the entire U19s team has had no full team game time either. Lets punt them all.
-
Admittedly no I wasn't. But I remember there being mixed reviews on here. Any time I've seen him on the pitch he hasn't looked out of his depth, albeit for 5 mins at a time. And I know it's nothing to go on for a game, but his ball warmups are easily most entertaining to watch! Ball goes to other guys feet every single time, and he's clearly got some skill about him.
-
Or, especially in Charalambous' case, he's just not ready yet. Doesn't mean he won't be. Just because you're not in the starting team at 17 doesn't mean you're crap. Has anyone actually seen Charalambous play?! Serious question. It's like saying, well, Peter Innes, he's not good enough clearly, lets get rid of him what a waste of a jersey cos he's not in the first 11. People seriously need to get a grip.
