Right. Your opinion, fair enough. Seems to have really riled you, seen as you've posted two seperate places about it. I'd get Flow to have a word about his timekeeping as it's upsetting the fans...

Based on what?! So in your world, performance is linked with what time you get to the ground...?

What time do you suggest he gets there? 9am and be sitting on his arse for 2 and a bit hours til warm up?! I found it much more surprising that after I got away pretty sharp from the Breidablik game, none other than Keith Lasley cut me up on Airbles Road - cannae have had a shower or team talk!

Take it you weren't at the Aalesund game then where for me, he was MotM? Today wasn't his finest perfomance, nor was it his worst. Hutchinson has promise, but for now I'd rather stick with Reynolds cheers.
  5. He was in front of the East Stand when the ball went out or soemething, and lay down on his back and got Saunders to straighten his leg, definite cramp. He looked absolutely knackered coming over for throws and corners near the east/cooper corner too. No wonder, he put a great shift in and I think he'll win a lot of fans this season by the looks of things so far.
  6. Had some guys near me calling him Hammerfist every time he touched the ball
  7. Exactly, I think that was Peter Houston saying that wasn't it? That it was a disgrace to the game, Sutton learned it from his brother and that the World Cup has a lot to answer for. What a load of pish. The number of times Bamba and Hogg were all over their man was ridiculous.

Humphrey was easily the stand out for me, looking dangerous every time he got the ball, and as Craig Brown said on the radio, if we can actually get attacking some of his balls then we'll do well. Having said that, the cult of Esteban Casagolda will no doubt win...
  9. I reckon Brown will go for something like this: Randolph Saunders Craigan Reynolds Hammell Lasley Jennings Hateley Humphrey Sutton Murphy Subs: Hollis, Hutchinson, Page, Fitzpatrick, Blackman, Casagolda,McHugh/Smith I reckon that could turn into a compact 4-5-1 with Sutton and Murphy swapping fairly regularly and the wide players tucking back when we don't have possession, and moving forward in a 4-3-3 when we have it. A compact middle 3 will keep it tight and hopefully win the midfield battle, protecting the back 4. Humphrey will probably have a role to play tracking back to catch Riordan down our right, cos as much as he has good promise, I reckon Saunders is a hot and cold type player. All in all a tight game which will see Randolph tested properly for the first time. I see him and Motherwell stepping up to the proverbial plate and winning 2-0.
  10. Esteban Casagolda is less well-known than his English counterpart but harbours similar hopes and aspirations. His signing has prompted a fair deal of excitement amongst the fans following developments online and he hopes to meet expectations by putting in performances and scoring goals. “I am pleased the fans are happy to have me, I am really happy to be here and playing for a club with a great history,” said the 23-year-old. “It will take time for me to get used to the Scottish game and the Scottish culture, but things are going great so far. My job, as a striker, is to score goals not just for myself, but for the club and the supporters. “Tomorrow’s game with Hibernian is big for the club and if I get a chance, I want to make an early impact!” Anyone else thinks his quote sounds like something Hammerfist would say?
  11. It's pan breid now, Brewer's Fayre. Anyway, congratulations Syd, and I'll throw in Ilie Dummytrescu to the mix...
  12. Believe it when I see it...
  13. No. You have a choice, you can a strip if you want to buy a strip, no-one forces you.
  14. a Looks quite good I think, as far as sponsors logos go. Get the feeling they weren't the 'groundbreaking, Scottish-first' the club were hoping for, but maybe that'll come next year once this runs out.
  15. Spot on. In similar circumstances where I've had to queue for advance tickets the person serving was apologetic and very helpful and accommodating. I know others have had different, but my experience of the ticket office has been very good. As a small aside, I've been following these boards for years, and used to post under the name Kaiser years ago. I decided to sign up and have my tuppence worth after the Aalesund game. Obviously I was happy Motherwell won, but I was also frustrated as hell because I had to tell two guys behind me who were in my ear all game, to shut the hell up as they were nothing but negative - absolutely slating anyone in a Motherwell top who didn't play an inch perfect pass under pressure, or didn't get it forward at the first opportunity. After 20 minutes I'd had enough I told them to stop being so fucking negative and look at the scoreboard. They still didnt shut up slating everyone though. Relevance to this topic? It's just typical Motherwell fan to moan about everything, everyhting is an outrage, the club are fleecing us, the service is terrible, I had to wait to get into the stadium, I had to wait to get a ticket, I'm a season ticket holder and I want it all. As Well Well correctly points out, theres only one fucking computer! It's not their fault and it's a good thing there's a queue. I won't be the first to say this and I won't be the last, but can we please GIE IT A REST with the constant moaning and get behind the team for a change?!? It's embarrassing sometimes.
  16. Most reasonable and well explained post so far I reckon. I agree with it all - Motherwell fans just like something to moan about. Shame on Motherwell for getting into Europe and playing 3 extra home games in the first place, fleecing all those fans who were forced to turn up.
  17. It's not laughable. Dundee Utd and Celtic play in the same league as us. Celtic are better and Dundee Utd are around the same level in terms of the football on the pitch. I would also argue that an SPL team Europa League tie (ie us v Odense) is at a higher level on the pitch than any of Leeds' League 1 fixtures last year.
  18. If the tie is alive when it comes back to Fir Park then I'm so confident that more than 'the 3 or so thousand that attend SPL matches against Inverness' will be at the game, I'd be willing to refund your 20 quid. And I wouldn't really call them 'non-descript' either...
  19. You'll see from my posts in this thread that I think £15 would have brought in a bigger support, BUT if we can keep it alive then I think people will pay it anyway. If the score is say 1-1 or 2-1 to them after the first game, only the really principled or completely skint won't be coming, so we could have your 8/9000 anyway. I see both sides and it's a fine line, it just boils my piss when people go down the 'I-pay-every-game-and-buy-a-programme-and-5-pints-and-a-pie-a-mars-bar-and-a-bovril-and-the-club-just-made-me-buy-the-new-£45-shirt-for-me-and-my-kid' line.
  20. Cheapest season tickets in the SPL for years. What do you want the club to do?! It's a business and has to keep functional. That means charging its fans. Just be thankful you don't go somewhere like Leeds, who didn't reduce their home gates prices for the time they were in League 1, so you were paying in the region of £35 i believe to watch dross like Leeds v Exeter.
  21. Exactly. Stick a students and OAP price in at £15 and that'd be perfect. There's the argument over whether cheaper entry would be likely to bring more floaters in, I think it probably would, but if the tie is still alive by the 2nd leg people will pay the £20 anyway. And as I pointed out at the start, and several others have since, it's more expensive for pretty much every away gate in the SPL. We as fans do not HAVE to go to every game home and away regardless of where in Scotland or Europe it is, we do not HAVE to buy a programme, a pie or a pint before the game. To say you've already spent X amount cos we've had X games and X pies so a fiver increase is shocking, is, well, invalid. The club, funnily enough, is not out to get us and fleece us for all we're worth.
  22. Probably best to get some takings in, probably to go towards Casagolda's signing on fee... Surely having a season ticket would get you a better seat, cheaper per game, first dibs on cup game tickets etc...wouldn't have thought entry to bounce games would have been high on your list. And as for Odense game, shouldn't be on the season ticket anyway so I'm not really sure what your gripe is. Not having a go, I'm just wondering....
  23. £2 quid?!? That's cheaper than a bottle of juice, a bag of crisps and a paper. Seriously...
  24. Yep I agree with that first sentence, and the price increase would have been fully justified given the calibre of opponent we would be playing. Still, £20 is cheaper than getting in to the away end at Accies, Ibrox, wherever, and keeping away from the whole 'SPL too expensive' argument, has to be viewed in this context. I'm intruiged as to why you want the floating fan to stay away?! Surely the bigger the crowd, the bigger the revenue, hopefully the better the atmosphere? You also have the potential to attract people back, or even to secure 'floating fans'. Example- I took my 'Newcastle season ticket holding but Glasgow living' mate to the Aalesund game, him never having been before. He enjoyed it and now says he is much more likely to come to the games with me when he isn't in Newcastle. Similarly, if it's a cracking game with all to play for, we might be able to secure new fans that might otherwise fall into the OF trap. I find anything that wouldnt want a non-Motherwell-diehard at the game bizarre, in times of falling attendances.
