Today and against st mirren he was fantastic.
-
no idea how the Barry Ferguson thing has come about but theres not a hope in hell he will be playing in claret and amber anytime soon. Would be a fantastic signing but its never happening.
-
Where's Devlin these days? Out on loan somewhere still?
-
First part fine, second part away and boil yer heid. He's got an air of headless chicken about him .

http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/stuart-mccall-should-be-cut-some-slack-1490962 Im on my phone but hopefully that works?

There have been quite a lot of shouts on this board recently for Agnol to be starting games, sometimes instead of Hammell and sometimes in front of Hammell. This is not meant to sound negative, but I don't understand why he is so highly rated? He has done nothing of note whenever I've seen him. Is it a case of wishful thinking, in that way an absent player becomes so much better when they're not there?

Well MJC is famous, this thread got a mention off our man Sydney in his column this morning.
-
now knowing who frazzle's group are I'd back this up. Heard more sensible comments coming from there than most other places at FP. The problem are not younger guys like them, its your 40+ bitter and twisted frustrated fat guys who are found all over fir park, that are the issue.
-
To be fair to MJC and to McGhee, his '3rd' season is easily the best football I've seen in claret and amber since I've followed them (c1993).
-
MJC - do you go to away games? Just interested. I haven't been to an away game all season for various circumstances but I think I would feel less scunnered if I had. Jimmy Calderwood might be a solid if uninspired choice. He's been out the game a while now hasn't he? McCall will have earned a contract extension providing he signs one. In a very tight league ill be interested to see who if anyone he can bring in next summer. ICT have done very well out of free transfers who can't be on more than out players.
-
You have no suggestions who we could bring in as manager then? I agree on Kerr (and preferred Page) Ramsden my jury is still out on, and I think Daley is a bit of a 5 minute cameo pariah. On the other side you have Law and Ojamaa. Law is a cracking player and Ojaama even when not on form gives us a good direct and sometimes selfish edge we need. To be honest I don't mind if we get beat now and again, as long as I am entertained. That's certainly not happening at home and something needs to change.

pretty decent analysis and when you look at it like that, Billy Dodds creaming himself on the radio about browns tactical genius may be slightly justified
-
Like my post on the other thread I agree with the overall sentiment of no plan B and im not filled with optimism for the rest of the season but I think for him to go now is far too early. Like it or not somehow we are 3rd in a tight division and have done well to qualify for Europe and reach a cup final. I do agree that performances in the big games are missing every time though. McCall out is premature. I would actually be quite interested to see if he could freshen and improve the squad on a tight budget at the end of the season and even what happens in January. Give it til this time next year and if we are in the position where we are still mince at home and also mince away with no improvement in the big games then it might be time upm

its the nature of football I suppose. A balanced view might say the referee got something spot on, but because it's not totally obvious and its against motherwell people don't stand up and praise the ref. Youre right, people want to vent and they should be able to, its just futile most of the time in my opinion. having said that the boy with the hair (hope he doesn't post in here and take offence!) might have had a point. folk in that block were shouting at hateley, when he's getting the ball for a throw right in front of the wall and fully in earshot, that he can fuck off and his dads a c**t and all sorts. What's the point, really? I get moaning at decisions and frustration at lack of effort but personal abuse when the player must have heard it is pretty shirt, regardless of how poor his performance was
-
Aye im the guy that's usually at the end of the row on my own..not been able to make a few games recently and had to sit halfway down that block tonight cos some guy wouldn't move. Anyway I hear what youre saying and I kind of agree, I just don't know what good it does. Maybe im feeling pretty apathetic just now. Was it in relation to the boy with the hair a few rows in front, shouting at people for shouting at hateley?
-
I don't think anyone, MJC included, is going OTT. A complete lack of a Plan B is very worrying and very frustrating to watch. I fear regardless of how good our away form is, punters will be turned away by the dross at Fir Park.
-
I might be wrong here but do you sit in the east stand second block along from the cooper in a group of guys at the back? In response to your point I think its quite often best to keep quiet when things are shite rather than berate someone wildly for one slightly overplayed pass on an icy pitch. Negativity spreads like wildfire at fir park and ok its warranted at times maybe but does it do any good? Does it make people feel better? Does it make the players play better?

I also listened to McCall on the radio and thought he was right to single out Carswell for praise. Those slating him must not really get football. As much as he didn't do anything spectacular he did not put a foot wrong. My guess isbthat his job was to sit in midfield and allow Lasley and the front 4 to try and attack. If Carswell's performance tonight was put in by Jennings last season everyone would be praising him forms solid but unspectacular game, given the circumstances of defeat. also the guy and women on my season ticket seat in the east can take a fuck to themselves. Told several times politely that it is my seat but not one bit of acknowlegement as the pretended i didn't exist.
-
Piss poor performance tonight and having missed the ICT and Ross County home wins through family illness, my season ticket is shocking value for money. I have seen something like 5 goals in 11 odd games with not one win. The problem is that there is no urgency in the team and we don't know how to break teams down. The rest of the SPL know exactly what we want to do and exactly how the stop it - that is let Motherwell tap it about, wait for a mistake and pounce on the counter. Is it a poor reflection on McCall that this has not been sorted? or are there just not the players or resources to have a Plan B? I would go with the first option. The away form is the mitigating factor here otherwise we would be in a relegation fight playing like we have at home. Not impressed with the season to date.

its a power cut affecting the houses outside the stadium too. Scottish power to blame apparently according to a steward. Club blameless I think
-
Paddypower gave me a £1 free bet so I've just stuck it on Motherwell 4 - Dundee Utd 3 at 100/1. Bit of a silly bet obviously but I see there being goals in this as there tends to be over the last few years, and both defences seem rank rotten at the moment. Here's hoping - this season ticket holder hasn't seen us win all season (couldn't make ICT).
-
I'm not sure I get this ZFA love-in - could someone explain it? Granted he is young and might have some positive attributes, but whenever I've seen him I've thought average at best.
-
Don't feed the troll.
-
Just got chucked out the James Tassie in Shawlands cos they insisted on having Manu game on on all 6 TVs. Absolute bullshit. Scotland must be about the only country in the world where if a top flight game is on you are not guarenteed to watch it...
-
Hold on a sec, Andy Roddie didn't score for motherwell?! I was about 8 or 9 at the time of the Falkirk 5-3 game and I remember an overhead kick, am I talking shite? If not, who was it?
