For me he was our best outfield player this season up until a few weeks ago. There's no way we should sell him for £20k. It'd be retarded. For a start, what kind of message does that send out to other clubs looking to maybe sign one of our players? It'd just have them thinking they can offer us buttons and we'd just bend over and accept it.

They've done a great job with previous banners (the Frobes one being the latest), however, this flag does have definite Irish Republican terrorist connotations. I don't know how old the lads are that came up with the flag. Maybe if they're teenagers they perhaps were a bit naive, or just didn't think the thing through. I know folk have been supportive on here of banners such as the Forbes one with lots of folk contributing. This flag though is in poor taste, and looks like something you would find on a gable end in Northern Ireland or something some more extreme members of the Celtic support may have. Having that on display at Fir Park would send out the wrong kind of message. Folk are entitled to put forward their thoughts on that, and when you put it on a forum like this, it's always going to happen. Anyway, I look forward to seeing future banners that are a little more football related.

Hately used to drop back into his position to cover when he pushed up, but that doesn't seem to be happening now. Not sure if that's a deliberate change in tactics or not.

To be fair though, I'd put more faith in the judgement and opinion of the guy that took what looked like a Motherwell side doomed to scrapping at the bottom of the league and has them chasing Europe come December, and beaten only once in the league, over Johnny Average fans shooting their mouth off on an Internet forum. I like him. He does rely on his pace to get him out of trouble at times, but I enjoy watching him going forward. Granted his crossing could do with a bit of work, but he is a danger to opposition teams. Also, he's not the worst defender in the world. If he was as bad as a couple have folk have made out, we'd be shipping 6 goals a game. If you look at the league table, we're not doing too badly in the goals against section.

When I close my eyes I can still see that happening. I'm not usually one for abusing Motherwell players, but when Livi's 4th or 5th went I completely lost the plot with Woods and stood shouting and ranting at him... not that he could hear me probably, as there'd have been folk nearer the front at it too no doubt. Any cup defeat to a lower league team is painful, but this one is the stand out. Seem to recall we'd have had a nice path to the final too which makes it the worse. The first game of this season against Llanelli was very, very embarassing, but we put it right in the second leg.

Motherwell Aid at it's best!!! I was there and I was 19 at the time. Can't really remember too much about it though to be honest, other than it being bizarre. Probably for the best that I don't remember it too clearly!!!

I heard about this in Romania on the morning of the match, but I've only really began thinking about it properly since arriving back home. Terrible news, and so tragic. I can't imagine how his family are feeling right now. Condolences to them. I always liked the wee man when he was at Motherwell. He was in one of the best 'Well sides I've seen, and he was always an exciting player to watch. I only met him once when I was a kid and I went to a football coaching course run by the club. He came in at the end of the week to dish out certificates and get pictures taken. He always seemed a happy guy and a bit of a joker. RIP, Paul.

I was working at 9am this morning, so I've only had about 4 and a half hours sleep since 7:30am yesterday morning (UK time). Red Bull came in handy in work today let me tell you. I've still not heard back from Novotel. I'm just about to leave for work, and I've no way to check my email while there. I hope my booking goes through ok as I won't be able to try one of the other hotels til tonight and if they're as slow to respond as Novotel then I won't know if I have a hotel booked when I travel.

I used a MasterCard credit card too. I think the Maestro cards are a bit dodgy as quite a few places don't take them. I might be partial to a drink or few in the Novotel bar on Wednesday night. (If we get booked in)
