  1. Is it possible for a mod to fix the name of the thread so the guy's name is spelt correctly?
  2. You talking about when he was "jostling" with Potter at the free-kick? Seen him shove Potter, bit it was handbags stuff.
  3. Aye, big Klimpl's been superb in the last two games. Delighted to have him for the rest of the season!
  4. Just in from the game. Referee shat it twice in the last 5 or so minutes from giving us penalties. One should have been given for a handball blocking a Klimpl volley that looked net bound, and the other in injury time when Coach was bundled over. Ref just didn't want to ruin the party for St Mirren. Aside from that, thought the ref had a shocker in general. Don't know how Lasley got booked, didn't even look a foul when a foul was given against him and was then booked for persistent fouling. Then you look at Jack Ross getting away with I don't know how many fouls without going in the book. On the plus side, we played well. Some really nice football on the deck, especially in the second half. O'Brien improved again after last week, playing left mid today. He was taking men on which was good to see. Had a fresh air shot attempting a volley at one point in the second half, the ball then broke to him again to volley, he caught it sweet, but the St Mirren keeper made a good diving save. Another nice move on the right saw Quinn cross it low, O'Brien tried a wee flick to score, but the keeper saved. If he'd dummied it though Ports was coming in behind to stick it in the net I reckon. Ports was unlucky with an effort that deflected just by the post in the second half too. Big Klimpl was awesome today by the way. He's got all the makings of a cult hero. Always seems to win the ball back for the team too. Good performance aside from not scoring, but encouraging signs for the rest of the season. Certainly outclassed St Mirren at football, and I'm a little disappointed we didn't take all 3 points. Clarky got man of the match on Radio Scotland, which I found surprising since some "expert" sitting a few rows behind me (I think) criticised him all through the second half. Walloper that he is.
  5. Emmjay sounds exactly like one of those Celtic fans that want Gordon Strachan out of Celtic Park as he's not a Celtic man/Celtic minded. It's a bit cringeworthy really.

    Jim O'brien

I thought O'Brien had a decent game. He certainly showed some promise and it was good to see him get a standing ovation from a lot of fans when he was subbed. He'll need to work on his final ball though, but I think he'll improve more and more with further starts. Up until Saturday I thought he wasn't contributing anything going by his sub appearances, but I suppose it isn't easy coming into games as a sub. Oh and I reckon he's a far, far better option than Darren Smith. I want to see Darren do well, but so far he's not really cut the mustard. He can run fast and seems eager enough, but that's about it. He doesn't seem to have the skill or the guile to beat a man. He's only young though, so I hope he'll change my current opinion!!!
  7. Vrey well put, 'Flow. I can't really agree with anything the original poster in this thread said, and I don't even get what the bees and jam jar analogy about the players coming out the tunnel is all about.
  8. Like so many others I can't believe it was a year ago. It's weird how quickly it has went by. Thoughts are with his family today. RIP Phil.
  9. I don't agree with the old firm pricing policy or the Cooper stand situation. However, I'll be renewing my season ticket. I'm not going to cut off my nose to spite my face just because I don't agree with some things the owner has done. At the end of the day, Boyle's not going to be around forever, hopefully Motherwell Football Club will be though. However, as I understand it, getting the season ticket money upfront in the summer is important to the club's finances. If half the season ticket holders don't renew, then what? Less money for bringing players in & renewing contracts which means an even lower class of player than we have now which would probably mean relegation. I'm not saying the club would fold if we got relegated, but we may never get back into the top flight again or if we did it could be for a season at a time.
  10. The Hibs game was an absolute embarassment, made worse by the fact one of my mates is a Hibee. I can't comment on the Aberdeen game as I didn't make the trip and tried to avoid reading about it. I was really glad this place was down around the time of those games cos it would have been tough reading! I seen McGhee saying he was looking into 50 players as possible signing/loan targets. Maybe that was his way of giving the current players another kick up the backside?
