Ooft! Why the hell are you in there?! I was actually in there upstairs this morning, but it was for an after funeral thing. I watched the Owen Coyle 2-0 party pooper game in BJ's back in the day.
-
What pub? Chances we've missed have been embarrassingly simple.
-
Correct.
-
Feeling like this myself. Would UEFA have any input on this at all? Does anyone know?
-
The replays of Higgy's overhead kick are Escape To Victory-esque!
-
Utterly horrendous. Cringeworthy. A crime against music.

Incredible game! It had it all really... Loving the adulation big Higgy is getting these days. The guy's been outstanding. Thought we missed Lasley badly in the first half from a defensive point of view, but the team did superbly to turn it around in the second half. Ojamaa is unbelievable at times! Superb!
-
That was immense today. What a performance! I commented to my dad that it didn't really matter we'd went down to 10 men when we had the ball today as each time it went to Ojamaa he was occupying either 2 or 3 of their players. The third goal was the best example of that. Cannae wait to see it on the tv!

Agreed, and the longer this run goes on, the worse it'll get.

None were due to players not doing better with chances (Clancy & Hutchinson) or players being fouled (Higdon) and so the issue wasn't delivery. I was just pointing out that Hateley's delivery was improved on recent showings and stating that I couldn't remember him trying to score from any corners today as you had said/implied. Obviously I agree that he should cut out trying to score from corners altogether.
-
Was talking with someone before the game about how Hateley always tries to score from corners and what a waste they are. However, after we'd had a few corners in the first half (4?) we both commented that his delivery had been a lot better and I thought we were causing them problems from them. From what I remember in the first half there was a scrambled clearance, the Higdon penalty shout where he was shoved when it looked like he was about to get a great heading chance, Hutchinson mistiming a header when the ball hit his body instead, also Clancy should maybe have done better with a header over the top. Maybe those were all from outswingers... but I certainly don't remember him trying to score from one today.
-
Also agree. Find it baffling that some folk are having a go at Higdon, but then some just have it in for him, end of story. The guy won loads of headers & flick ons. Not his fault if his teammates aren't near him/not in position to take advantage of his good work. Not quite sure what people are expecting Higdon to do with the punts up to him? Bring the ball down under control while under pressure, beat a couple of defenders and skelp it into the top corner? I thought he held the ball up very well too. He certainly had a couple of slack passes, but he appears to be doing everything McCall is asking of him (it's not up to him to provide assists for his own scoring opportunities).

Woeful stuff. Can't remember Esson having to make a save. Should probably have had a couple of penalties, but we created nothing to say we deserved 3 points. Anyone know what the "supporter" in the Cooper said to Randolph that got Randy's back up? Somehow missed it myself, but heard Randolph offered to meet the guy outside after the game, then was over at full time trying to get into the stand to have a word. No doubt one of these people that thinks abusing their own players is fine and has no negative effect...
-
I'd rather lose him for the Rangers game as we'd very likely lose that even with Jenno in the team.

Happy with this. Very hungover today and wasn't looking forward to making my way to Motherwell in the wind & rain, plus the weather would have ruined the match like the United game I reckon.

Booooooooooooo!!! Total passenger again today!

Sorry I don't follow your argument. Are you saying that if games kicked off at 3 pm on Saturdays in the lead up to Christmas that folk would have more spare money then? Of course having the game on Saturdays leading up to Christmas won't mean folk suddenly have spare cash. I didn't say that. Read my post again - I said this (Friday night football) is an experiement to attract fans that usually don't go/don't have season tickets. As such, the target audience is pay at the gate punters and so you're relying on them having spare cash. The run up to Christmas is not a good time for such an experiment due to financial commitments most people have at that time of year (nights out, presents and so on = not much spare cash). If you really must do it, do it at a quieter time of the year. I'm also against it for other reasons (even if I wasn't going to miss this game).
-
Well it's all about attracting more fans (i.e. not season ticket holders), so the run up to Christmas isn't a very good time to have a Friday night football experiement. Folk don't have much spare money then - nights out to pay for, presents to buy and so on.

Maybe the club, and the SPL as a whole, should arrange the fixtures around your schedule then? Of course, that suggestion is just ridiculous. Probably pointless replying, but anyway... You seem to have missed my original point on this which is that I've already arranged my shedule around the fixture list: Of course I don't think the club should arrange the fixture list around my schedule. Don't be so facetious. However, I don't really think it's unreasonable for someone to be unhappy at arranging their social activities and work arrangements around a published fixture list* and to then be unhappy when a few weeks prior to the game, the fixture is moved to a different day which they can't make, especially when they've already paid to go to the game. If I'd bought tickets for a gig and then that was moved to a day I couldn't make for whatever reason, I'd be annoyed at that as well. I'm sure most people would in the same situation. The problem with football in general is that it thinks it's different from other forms of entertainment and that it can muck its loyal fans about as much as it likes and we'll still come back. Not sure if that says more about football or the loyal fans. *Granted it's published subject to change I believe, but Friday night football in the run up to Christmas or even winter in general... really? Maybe I should keep all my Friday nights clear from now on "just in case".
-
Just spoke to my dad and he can't make the game either now as he's doing something that night. So that's two season ticket holders now unable to make a game they've paid for. Well done, Motherwell. Not usually one to have a go at the club, but this is ridiculous.
-
Not happy at all. I work one in four Saturdays and this was one of a couple of home games I was going to miss, so arranged a holiday to make it. Now I won't get to the game at all as I'm going to a gig on the Friday night. In general, my opinion on this is still negative. Are people going to find a cold Friday December night at Fir Park attractive just before Christmas? Not really. Will it increase the crowd? No; I think it'll decrease the crowd if anything.
-
Linkage Sounds great!
-
Fantastic result! Bring on Killie! (Only problem is that it's Fir Park... )

It says we can't defend against the old firm. Delighted to see Higdon get on the score sheet today. Hopefully we can see out the second half.
