Got Sportsound on in the car before heading up to Fir Park. I assume they're at Fir Park as I could hear "Go West" blaring out of the tannoy. We must have been playing that for the best part of 20 years now.

I was watching BBC News 24 last night around 9/9:30 and in their sports section they twice mentioned that Celtic were top of the SPL. They mentioned we'd won 1-0, so at least they got that right. On BBC Radio Scotland yesterday Chic Young gave the team news - One change for Motherwell from last week with Saunders in for Hutchinson. The so called Scottish football expert didn't realise we actually had two changes. Quality misreporting from the BBC. Unsurprising.

I get what folk are saying about the iron on Scottish Cup Final logo on stuff not being as good as the embroidered equivalent and agree. However, the applique badges on last season's Puma shirts were the best badges we've had in my opinion. Far better detail and much neater looking than past embroidered badges. I wear my shirts for playing footy regularly and the badges look as good today as they did when I bought them a year ago.

I've heard a rumour that John Fleck might be coming on loan. Apparently he has 3 options and we're his preferred destination. I've no idea how accurate it is though.

Someone asked about the record attendance thing on the other thread about that shirt, but I don't think an answer was given. It does seem an odd thing to include. If some historical facts were to be included, why not Scottish League Champions, Scottish League Cup Winners and Scottish Cup Winners?

It's not a hoop going by the picture of Murphy on the shop's website. Nice enough kit on the whole and the sponsor doesn't look too bad on it. I like the idea of the 125th anniversary badge. However, I don't think I'll buy the home shirt this year. One question on the badge l: Is "Glencairn" supposed to be upside down like that? It looks daft like that and puts me off a bit.

I quite like getting new strips. New season coming, new strips, the anticipation, the launch... it brings out a wee bit of child like excitement. Maybe a bit sad, but I don't care. Plus if the previous strip wasn't the best (Zoom kit, jester) then a change can't come quick enough. I can sympathise with folk that have kids mind you. Having said that, I wouldn't have minded last season's being kept for another season as I thought they were crackers.

Mark McGhee for me, based on the fact he had us playing the best football I've ever seen Motherwell play in his first season and got 3rd spot. The way he left the team left a sour taste though, but Gannon came in and signed some good players. Also, Harri Kampman was already Motherwell manager when Boyle bought the club as far as I remember. The Chapman regime appointed him I'm sure, so he should really be taken off the list. Bizarre that someone has voted for him.
