Very sorry to hear about this. Get well soon, Kirky!

Great post, Andy. Sounds brilliant. I was 9 at the time, but don't remember it happening unfortunately... don't even know if I was at that game to be honest although my dad did take me to the games back then. 19th May 1991 though?
-
11/9 surely? steelboy, are you an American?
-
I tend to agree with that. Anyone remember Graeme Smith's shenanigans in Nancy when they got a penalty (which he then saved)? I don't recall many folk moaning about cheating/gamesmanship then...
-
Absolutely fucking scunnered. Never dare to dream folks, because this is how you end up feeling. Scunnered. We'll never ever have a better opportunity than that to go on a brilliant European run and have some real glamour nights at Fir Park. Scunnered. In many ways it would be easier to take if we came up against a much better team who pumped us. Scunnered. Back to the sheer monotony of the SPL and domestic football, and I cannot get excited about that prospect at all. Scunnered. Celtic at Fir Park on Sunday could have a strange atmosphere about it because both sets of fans will be scunnered.

I can only really echo what folk have said already... I'm absolutely buzzing about this match. Been looking forward to it since last Thursday night. And on the other hand I'm bricking it!!! This could well be the second biggest 'Well match I've been to, and I hope the crowd get right behind the 'Well and make it as uncomfortable as possible for Odense. Mon the 'Well!!!
-
Agreed. How much of a donkey is Gary Kenneth? If Levein picks him again for Scotland he should have his head examined.
-
She's a nightmare. Sat a couple of rows behind me at Falkirk once and she was annoying as hell. Some voice on her mind.
-
Brondby finished below Odense in the Danish league, but beat Sporting Lisbon (a team anyone would usually say are superior to us) 2-0 away from home. So our 2-1 defeat to Odense in Denmark looks very decent.

What a goal!!! Ref was woeful. First half was ok, but thought we were great in the second half. Some players caught out spending too much time on the ball at times or making daft passes (that's how the free-kick for their first goal came about). On the whole though, we played better than I thought we would. We've definitey got a chance now. I cannot wait til next Thursday night at Fir Park! Oh and... What a goal!!!

I thought folk on here had exhausted every possible avenue when it came to moaning about Motherwell Football Club. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Now it's what time players turn up at Fir Park before a match. It defies belief. Have a look at yourself, because it's absolutely pathetic. For the record, I thought Reynolds' distribution was awful today. Far from his best game... probably not far from his worst. Hibs have a good forward line though and I'm not going to worry about one dodgy performance from Mark. He's been a cracking player for us over the last few seasons and, the odd blip aside, he'll continue to be a good player for us as long as he's at Fir Park.

How the hell did Hammerfist manage to hack the official website? And 'Flow's account on here? Seriously though... I got in from work an hour ago, checked the official site and was gobsmacked. Speechless. Viva Casagolda!

Excellent post. Well said.

I'm a bit surprised it's up to £20, but when I consider you're paying more than that to go to away games in the SPL, it's not really that bad. It is/could be a massive match. I'm also surprised there are no concessions with it being £20 for adults now. Maybe folk wouldn't have been feeling as bad if the home leg was the first leg and it was £20 as there'd have been all to play for. Maybe the possibility of the tie perhaps being all but over come the second leg is at the back of people's minds. I don't know. I'd imagine some folk would hold off til after the first leg before buying tickets for the second leg to see what the score was, and they'd do that whether it was £15 or £20. If the home game tickets were £15 and we get horsed in the first leg, there' be a lot less people there anyway.
-
Aye. Great name, not so great a player.
-
He didn't score though. He hit a shot, Randolph saved it, the ball rebounded back, hit Hutchinson and rolled into the net.
-
2, 4 and 9 for the black kit team were the best trialists. I didn't think much of the rest. And Pollock and Watt looked like cracking players.
-
Aye, fair enough. I won't pretend to understand the compulsion/devotion/obsession that makes folk go watch a kickabout in Brechin over a World Cup semi-final, but it's their time to do with as they please. Don't understand why football fans don't like the World Cup either really. Do some people just consider themselves a Motherwell fan and that's it, and so they don't bother with any other football? Cracking game last night anyway (Uruguay v Holland I mean), and the Brechin City v Motherwell result was decent too. Shame Murphy got injured though.
-
Bad news. He'd been playing well towards the end of the season too. Hope he's back fit soon!
-
Why wouldn't 'Well supporters go to watch a 'Well game? I've been to enough friendlies in my 25 years of supporting Motherwell to know that they're pretty much all bore fests and a complete waste of money. Also take into account it's essentially a kickabout against a lower league team purely to get some match sharpness. I'd have absolutely no interest in attending the game at the best of times (I could quite happily live the rest of my life not knowing tonight's score), but couple the above with the fact that the alternative to watching Brechin v Motherwell is a Uruguay v Holland World Cup semi-final and there's only one winner for me. I'm a football fan as well as a Motherwell fan, so I'll have the competitive and interesting World Cup semi-final with two cracking goals so far any day of the week over a friendly. If it was a competitive Motherwell game then it'd be a different story, but it's a kickabout. Do Motherwell fans not like football in general? Some too blinkered or obsessed to appreciate other teams? Don't know why I'm asking that anyway as there are more Motherwell fans watching Uruguay v Holland than Brechin City v Motherwell. Anyway, back to the World Cup for me...
-
With a bit of luck the sponsor won't be printed properly again and it'll fall off!
-
The semi-final of the biggest sporting event on the planet, watched by millions upon millions across the globe described as a diddy match in comparison to a meaningless friendly between Brechin City and Motherwell (which will be watched by a couple of dozen folk). Enjoy the match if you go mind you, but I really don't see the appeal of it at all especially given the alternative football on tv tonight. Crazy stuff.
-
Excellent. Looking forward to a Chapman's pie!
-
Ermmmm... can I just get something straight here... Some people are actually going to watch a completely meaningless, uncompetitive, training game kickabout in Brechin on a Tuesday night instead of watching the Uruguay v The Netherlands World Cup semi-final?
