To be fair though, that "Another goal" was a fucking peach.
-
No lesson learned from the Celtic and Hibs games it appears. Our defending is shambolic.
-
Tremendous!
-
Hateley would have found it difficult to take that penalty - he'd been subbed for Forbes!
-
I thought he looked like he wanted to take the pen, but Forbes took the ball off him. Not to worry though as we equalised anyway...

For me tonight was better than Skippy Sunday. For the sheer fact it was the greatest comeback I've seen any team make. I'm 30 years old, went to my first 'Well match just after starting primary 1, so that's a good 25 years of watching football at Fir Park as well as countless games from around the world on tv, and that was the greatest comeback I've seen. Also, as good as it was to completely fuck one of the old firm, tonight meant something for Motherwell Football Club. I was at all of those games too. All undisputedly some of the greatest games in our club's history. But may I respectfully suggest you change your list to a top 5 with the fifth game being the CIS Semi at Easter Rd versus Hearts because that was a fucking awesome night. Certainly better than Skippy Sunday and probably tonight.

That's a fair point actually!!!

Love the thread starter's comment: "he has very good pace" Must have been watching a different Lukas from me! Seriously though... WOW As flaptastic as Buzz was tonight and always has been, he's always been no too bad at saving the old penalties, so it wasn't surprising he saved from Forbes tonight. Not too confident with Forbes taking the pens anyway, especially as he's been out the team, maybe not that high on confidence and he hadn't been on that long as a sub. I'd have rathered Lukas take it as he'd surely have just rattled it. Anyway... At 4-1 and 6-2 I was kind of laughing to myself thinking "typical Motherwell, we've completely bottled it". Game on tv, cheap prices, the usual... I didn't feel gutted or mad at that stage as I figured there's far more things I can be gutted about than a football match. At the end though I was still laughing, but by then it was from disbelief at the sheer unpredictable drama we'd witnessed and THAT goal from Lukas. When we started to pull a goal or two back from 6-2 I think the crowd and the players knew that as crazy as it'd been up to then, we could easliy make it a lot more crazy!!! And so it proved... I can't recall celebrating many goals like that equaliser before. If someone could bottle that feeling they'd make a fortune! If you'd told me we'd draw tonight before the game I'd have been disappointed, but after being 6-2 down it can be seen as a brilliant result. I think Hibs will pip us to 4th though unfortunately as we rarely do well at Ibrox and they're up against a United side who will be looking to a Scottish Cup Final so may take their foot off the gas. Hope I'm wrong though!!! Mon the 'Well!!!

I spent a good 20 or 30 seconds running back and forth along my row (only possible cause folk next to me had left early), jumping and hugging various folk. It would be funny, but also embarassing if I saw a recording of me at that point in time!!! What a goal though!

I don't think it matters. They're both bigoted terms. There are more religions in the world than the Protestant and Catholic versions of Christianity. Just because you dislike two things equally doesn't make it non-bigoted to use bigoted terms to describe them. Like religions, there are also more than one race and nationalities of people in the world. For example, someone may dislike Pakistanis and Ugandans equally, but that doesn't make them non-bigoted if they call them P*k!s and N!gg*rs. Or am I applying too much logic and reason? Oh and Ruddy ain't going to Rangers. No way could they afford him!!! And Traffic Light, stop taking their bait everytime. They probably love winding you up.

Yeah, I'd agree with everything there. Can't believe I paid £22 to watch that dross. Other than today, I wasn't going to bother with anymore away games this season for financial reasons, and that's just made my mind up for definite.

*cough* I'd love to see Marc do well and it was a shame to see him go off. Did anyone else think it was the poor pitch that caused it?
-
Yep, that one gets on my tits. I find it a bit pathetic. Great thread.

Cracking passer of a ball, cracking taker of free-kicks, bit of a cult-hero of mine during his stint at Fir Park even although I was less than happy when we signed him, and the only player I've seen score a goal with his cock. I don't really think there's much chance of us resigning him though. I wouldn't actually want us to resign him anyway to be honest. Viva la Silky Bob!

Well that's why I said: Anyway, good pictures, decorator, well done on the trip, and nice Scotland shirt on display. It was in my last paragraph. Yep, but I think it's good to see fans wearing their colours at the match as well as travelling to and from the ground. I didn't say anyone was less of a fan for not wearing colours, I just think it looks better. And thanks for the lovely parting comment, but how exactly does one throw faeces at one's self? Is there a special technique that you're perhaps familiar with?

I didn't think I was moaning or picking on folk... maybe certain folk are a bit too touchy. Anyway, well done to them for following the team to Inverness and Albania. And if you want me to have an actual moan... However, if you're going to go to all that hassle and effort, you could at least wear a 'Well scarf or something to show your support and pride for the team you're so committed to following. Cheers.

I really don't think there's much point in getting excited about our fair play position just now. Admittedly I don't have the facts to hand, but I can't recall Scotland winning a fair play place very often. I think Kilmarnock got a place in the UEFA Cup 10 years or so ago through it, but that's the only one I can remember aside from us last year. Getting another place this year is a long shot, so best not get excited, cause you're just setting yourself up for a massive disappointment; a bit like following us in the Scottish Cup.
-
I'd agree about personal preference, but I'm hardly picking on people. I was just asking why they weren't wearing colours, especially as they weren't wearing colours in Albania either, and gave my point of view when questioned on the issue.
-
Visual support for the team. The more fans there and the more fans wearing some claret and amber, the better. I always think our support looks great, especially if it's a big crowd, cos our colours are so distinctive and stand out. Plus if I see folk dressed like that with no colours on I tend to think they're some of those daft casuals. Not that I'm saying I assume everybody that has no colours on at a game is a casual, just certain folk. If we're really going to be pedantic, the claret and amber flag is fine, but the blue and yellow one? Really?

Where's your Motherwell colours?
-
Flow, get a hobby!!!

Great fishing thread! I'll chip in anyway... If Gus McPherson became the Motherwell manager, I would most certainly look on the bright side. The bright side being me saving myself the best part of £300 as I would not be renewing my season ticket for the first time in quite a lot of years.
-
Yeah, bounce/closed door games don't usually merit much attention, and neither should they. I can't remember the Rhyl game getting much attention when they beat us. An 11-1 win over Belshill is nothing to get excited about in any way, shape or form.

It sends out the wrong signal for me in terms of how the club values it's players. Plus it'd be strengthening a team that's chasing us for a top 6 place. O'Brien signing for them in January could help them pip us for top 6 and that'd cost us a lot more than £20k. They're only 2 points behind us as it is. Fair enough, they're 6th, but Hearts will surely get a bit better and come into it. I don't know the situation in the dressing room, whether O'Brien's discontented or whether he'd be happy to play for Motherwell for the rest of the season. However, from the outside looking in, I'd say keep him. If he plays, he can help us like McDonald did after signing a pre-contract with Celtic. If he doesn't play, I'd rather he was sitting in the stand than helping Aberdeen at our expense. Failing that, whip up a bit of interest in him to see if someone can top the whopping £20k offered by Aberdeen. Others are bound to have noticed him this season aside from McGhee.
