As they say in that famous old song 'We are the Motherwell FC' Supporting Motherwell is excatly what it says on the tin 'Supporting Motherwell' I can't believe some of the crap that I read on here and some of the knee jerk reactions and negativity towards our club. What ever happened to 'we'll support you evermore' 'through thick and thin' I appreciate that a lot of the guys that post on here are relatively young and have been pleasured with European jaunts and the like over the past decade but come on guys get real. I have followed the Well for the past 30 years, attending most of the home games throughout that time and many away. Consistently for a provincial club (with the smallest town population in the SPL may I add) we have punched well above our weight. We have now been in the top flight for 25 years on the bounce albeit, with many highs and lows. There are many clubs (Hibs, Falkirk, Dundee, Dunfermline, Partick, Hamilton, StMirren, Kilmarnock) that cant boast this record. Yes, i admit that the standard of football on offer this season is poor but that is not solely down to Motherwell, the standard in our league in general has dropped and we are just a part of the decline, but i'm sure it will come back round again. All i'm saying is lets support the team. It's not been a dreadful season as some of you seem to think. We had a very decent european run, allowing the fans the opportunity to go to foreign fields on three occassions, we got to a cup semi final and did ourselves proud, we are still in the QF of the Scottish Cup and tbh if we beat United we have a real good chance of getting to the final, and we are still fifth in the league with a top six place well within our reach if we can turn things around. No wonder the team dont give a fuck if they read some of the stuff on here, why should they if many of the fans dont give a fuck and consistently critisise. If you dont like what you are seeing and want to spout off at every opportunity then I suggest that follow follow or huddle board might be a better place to be. C'MON YE WELL.

To all the pessamistic doubters, that was a great performance and result. The first half we were superb given the conditions, hutch, las and jenno were solid, forbes looked like a new signing, sutts ran himself into the ground and jeffers looked sharp and his runs and positioning were top class, once hartley was sent off we lost our way for a while but we dug in and deservedly got the winner. Bring on the accies. Mon he WELL.

Maybe interesting to note that on the two occassions that we have won the SC, we have finished mid table in the league!

Think this is exactly the type of game that we need just now. We should be able to down there at the weekend and win by a couple of goals. For me the league campaign is about trying to get as many points as possible from now until the end ofthe season to try and get top 6. I reckon there is only 1 place up for grabs there now, with the mould firm, hearts, killie and united (3 games in hand) securing their places. We can forget about being drawn into a relegation battle. The number of points that we have amassed already will never be caught by either Hamilton or St Mirren. The cup is a great opportunity for the provincial clubs this year and we are right in the mix. By the next round 3 out of the top 4 in the league will be out. If we get a favourable draw there is no reason why we cant make the semi's at least.

I think some of you boys need to get real on here! I dont know what age you are but ive seen worse motherwell teams than this beat better rangers teams in the past. Yes, we are underdogs but all this pessamism is doing my tits in. No matter what you think, the gulf between us aint that big!!

Why we all getting hung up on attendance at this game. Lets face it, any other semi's that we have been to, we have hardly taken a massive support. mid eighties and early nineties against Celtic (SC) we only had about 5000 there, and that was the days when the games weren't on TV! If we take 4-5000 we will be taking 100% of our core support. I cant see the h**s having anywhere near 50% of their core support!!
