2018’19 Game 14: Livingston (A) Saturday 1st December 2018
Mintymac replied to Yabba's Turd's topic in Club Chat
Is Mchugh and Hartley back from there suspensions for the Celtic game on Wednesday night . -
No not for me . We’ve got Adam Livingstone ready to make his mark . Dunne should hopefully be back soon too . We need goals imo not more defenders .
-
Mchugh you owe us an apology big time . Liability . Tackles Like a twelve year old at times. . Your an embarrassment to the jersey . Thanks for nothing Carl . Hope Robinson doesn’t defend him as that would be equally disappointing
-
Mchugh off again . Unbelievable . Two bookings in a two minute spell . What’s he doing . It’s hard enough with eleven
-
How about something like “you guys the fans must be sick and tired of me talking the talk so we’ll bunker down and do our talking on the park ..... for a change “That would do . Short and sweet.
-
I know hindsight is the perfect science but not so sure he got the captaincy right after McHugh . Looked ok at the time and was fans choice but getting a bit weary of Hartleys comments . Read his last piece and same old stuff . He goes on about strong mentalities and winners in the dressing room . Maybe so but on a Saturday they look like rabbits in the headlights and lack confidence especially when fans have a go at them . As far as playing well in a few games mmmmm...... . Not so sure about that . Wish he would just do his talking on the park . If I’m right Hartley has conceded 3 free kicks on edge of the box (hibs accies and livi) all resulting in goals and all needless and reckless . And I’ve not even talked about his passing/long diagonals . Time to stop the talk and do the walk . Tbf it applies to quite a few of them but Hartley is the captain and has the most to say usually . Patience running low with him now. Does anybody else think Robbo is regretting that decision
-
That was atrocious today . Think Robinson’s ran out of ideas . Was looking for improvement this season but we’ve gone backwards . He doesn’t seem to know how to change and we only play one way . And to compound matters other teams have sussed us out . Think the end is near for Robbo . Would loved him to succeed but it ain’t happening . Never heard so much rumblings since the Malpas day’s . Today was a truly awful watch
-
Don’t even know where to start tbh as there was so much wrong . Atrocious football from both teams . It can’t go on like this much longer or attendance will drop big time . Mchugh was right we are a shambles . Probably one of the worst games I’ve ever seen in 50 years of going but that was the pits . Robbie I like him as a person and comes across well but I really fear for him now . The board must be watching closely . I hope he pulls it round and gets us out of this mess but I’m not so sure . Players get managers the sack for days like that
-
It’s not so much the ball winning . I was thinking more about tracking his marker when they run off him . Latest eg the Kilmarnock game . Lazy defending for a midfielder . You’ll never win games if you allow that . Who did he think was gonna pick up his marker ????? . I was one who wanted him in the team but been unimpressed with his overall game and can see where Robinson is coming from .
-
The idea that Bigi could solve our problems this season has lost a bit of momentum . On the ball reasonably decent . Off the ball game bypasses him . Think it might be back to the basics after listening to Robinson’s interview . He’s gonna play guys he trusts by the sounds of it . Might not be pretty but I’ll take it with 3 points on the board at five o’clock . So let’s get stuck right in there today and let’s get behind the team especially when we need it . Patience might be key today but think we’ll do it
-
Yip your probably right . That’s why there not starting . Creative players also need to do the dirty work to . Tracking back ,matching runs as well as being creative . Tough but that’s the modern game nowadays . No different to wing backs . Carson sees it all in front of him . Check his reaction . Imo he’s bang on the money. Being creative but lazy or not aware is no good to any team .
-
Ultimately it’s players who get managers the sack . And yesterday was a prime example of that . Bigi who is decent with the ball at his feet let his teammates down by basically strolling back instead of picking up the runner . Result ...goal . No wonder Carson went mental with him . Basic midfield attribute is to track your runner . Bigi has had a chance at midfield for a few games now and if we’re relying on him god help us . Tynecastle he fannies on the ball in his own 18 yard box .... result goal . Yeah he deserved his chance but imo he’s blown it . And Robinson knows that if he perseveres with him them he’s out the door . Think he’ll go back to his way next week whether it’s pretty or not . You can only be loyal for so long .
-
Could he do a similar job at another club? With good resources and backing I believe he could . Would he want to go to another club ? . No idea if he could be tempted or not . He is certainly a Well man though that’s for sure and his dedication to the job is second to none
-
Don’t think you could find a more dedicated person to run our club especially with the budget he has to work with. Infectious enthusiasm . He is first and foremost running the club but it can’t be easy being a fan as well . Head ruling heart stuff . But I’ve got total respect for the job he’s doing . Club feels in safe hands with him at the helm . Talking to a few mates who are fans from other clubs they wish they had what we’ve got with him in terms of integrity and honesty and forward thinking . There must be some bigger clubs having a look at the job he’s doing . To anybody who doesn’t agree fine but just be careful what u wish for . The most important thing for me is he genuinely cares about our great club
-
Anybody know when draw is being made
-
Mchugh has been the best of a bad bunch so far this season . He’s doing fine compared to the rest . Never a midfielder but looks good at centre half . No way does he deserve to be dropped .
-
Nope .It wasn’t all Bigis fault . Most of the team were 4-5/10 at best . But the idea that by introducing bigi would solve our problems is delusional. Very average midfield player imo . For centre of midfield . No chance . We hang our jacket on him coming in and turning us into a passing team . Not for me
-
that wasn’t a good watch today . Robbo think you might be getting found out . Hopefully not but that was brutal to watch today . Over to you Robbo . The jury is out
-
Bigi was outstanding. Wow!!!!!. . Bigi was at best average . First 15 mins looked good involved in a lot of the play . After that he steadily got worse . Played centre of midfield against worst team in the league and couldnt control it . His free kicks were woeful and his delivery into the box was pathetic . Fantastic player? . You have seriously got to be kidding . If he’s our midfield maestro we’re in big trouble . In a sentence flatters to deceive . Not a chance I’d hang my jacket on him to keep us up
-
100% correct . Aldred is decent but we need a defender who can play in Kiprés position that being on the right hand side of a back three . With height and pace preferably . Aldred is a Central defender so imo not required . Hartley and McHugh can do that job . Easy to say though, finding one with that criteria might be trickier . Think we got lucky with Kipre from a buying and selling point of view . Think we need the same luck again
-
Mchugh is a centre back always has been always will be . Poor peripheral vision when his back is to goal and passing is average . Best when he’s facing the play . Think it was derek Adams who converted him to midfield . Not for me . Personally I like him at centre back and should be playing there while Hartley is regaining match sharpness . Think he is best in the middle of a back three though and not to the right or left of that position . So with that point we need a direct replacement for Kipre on right side
-
Thought that was great piece of business by the club re Kipre . As we got him for £0 Leicester get nowt on sell on fees. He was great entertainment but the hype surrounding him was greatly over egged . Over the last 50 years I’ve seen much better players than him in that position . He was ok and a thoroughly decent person and helped promote the club and giving us a higher profile but that’s about it . Having said that good luck to the big man . Definitely got potential and could be right good player over time but for us at this point in his development and from a selfish point of view great piece of business . Well done to all from his recruitment to sale .
-
Anybody any ideas who Kipres replacement is likely to be . Imagine it will be like for like . Don’t think we’ve a ready made replacement at this moment in time coming through .
-
Obvious from early on in the game that Hartley wasn’t match fit when their no 9 skipped by him . He also did the same to Kipre in the first half . The second half it was even more apparent . Is it a crisis ? . No way . Hartley mentioned in his interview he was fit but not match fit so very honest response . Just hope that injury/lay off hasn’t cost him a yard . That would be concerning . As for Kipre yesterday . He looked like he’s never played before . Shocker of a performance from a highly rated player but again given game time to sharpen up . So let’s get the team out as close to one that beat Edinburgh for QOS game . Can’t afford to use this game to get players match fit . PS was Campbell suspended or injured ?. Anybody know the situ with Bigi. Surely he’s good enough to play in that game yesterday
-
A don’t think he’s that bad a player but to be frank it’s the manager who decides where and how you play not the player . Thought he was decent at centre back last season and decent when he filled in there this season . Lots of the support just can’t wait for him to make a mistake and crucify him . Tbf though it’s infuriating the times he gets caught in procession . Just feel he’s better facing the play . Was one of the reasons we stayed up last year . It’s a tough one as he’s our captain but he’s a defender not a midfielder no matter what he thinks
