  1. I'm nit picking I know but Moult didn't touch it; it was a clearance by the ICT defender (hence the corner straight after it). Unrelated to the above, I thought Clarkson looked lively when he came on for McDonald; certainly looks to have a good understanding with Moult who looks a tricky wee player and was unlucky not to score from Law's rebound (who looks more interested in overlapping based on yesterday's performance).
  2. I believe we're waiting on him getting a scan today.
  3. Laing for me, solid with a couple of marauding runs thrown in, too.
  4. McDonald look a few more games away from his best today. Was never a penalty, so probably fair Skippy missed it. Fletcher looks brilliant. Had a few chances and probably should have had at least another. Few more games and I think he'll be banging them in. Moult was a handful in a different way (pace with some tricky footwork) and could have scored one were it not for a great save from their keeper. Delighted with the result but a bit disappointed we didn't get a few more. We moved them about well when we had the ball and counter attacked brilliantly, a very astute away performance. Pearson's injury changed how we went forward but the good thing is we created chances in other ways without him through the middle.
  5. Probably better getting them on Youtube; supporting animations/photos of the players etc. makes it a bit more eventful.
  6. Apologies, totally missed his name for some reason.
  7. Baws, really liked the idea of him signing. Ah well; who's next?
  8. Fairly happy with those, actually. Driving a few of us up, should be good!
  9. Clangers at Fir Park would be hilarious. And never going to happen... I hope.
  10. I hope we line up like we did against Rangers this season; we can hurt teams with the pace we have breaking with Ainsworth, Marv, Pearo, Skippy etc. It's also a good system for possession football and using a 5-man midfield to boss things and open up space in behind. (PS - right looking forward to trying this on FM/Fifa now, hah! ) ------------------------------------- TBC (Twardzik) -------------------------------------- --- Law (Watt, Reid) -- Laing (Kennedy) -- McManus -- Hammell (Chalmers) --- Ainsworth (Maclean) ----- Pearson (Cadden) ----- Lasley (Leitch) ----- Johnson (Thomas) ------------------------------------------ McDonald (Fletcher) ------- ------------------- ---------------------------------------------Moult (Clarkson, Moore) --------------------
  11. What good will that do? I'm fairly sure his contract expires next June; I'd much rather he had half a season to get some confidence and came back to prove he was worth another deal. Taking a gamble on a player for another season after a year in the Championship isn't where I think the club should be heading.
  12. Delighted with that. Central midfielder and an experienced GK that isn't Samson, please.
  13. I can see Samson being on our radar as a last resort; I can't see him being the number one choice of the management team, though. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Trialist keeper play tomorrow night.
  14. I nearly put him down but decided Motherwell players only, hah. I'd have added Pirlo, too.
  15. Jennings, Leitch Snr, Derek Adams (for a season or two)... All players who lacked a significant turn of pace who were very effective in the middle in recent years. Pace doesn't make a player; if he can learn to position himself well and read the game he'll be the perfect fit for protecting a back 4 and breaking up play. Give him some time; he needs to learn the game some more and equally train some more. There's no reason why without the proper training and conditioning (which I believe he'll get given our current backroom staff in that area) he can't pick up his pace and fitness to fit the mould described.
  16. I'd agree with that; though I'd settle for 3 of those suggested 4 as I think we've got enough at right mid with Ainsworth, Thomas and potentially Maclean there already. All preferably with some experience; still concerned that we're looking pretty young this year and could do with some more seasoned (but not in the same age range as Keith, Hammell, McManus...) pros.
  17. Sounds like we're unlucky not to be 2-1 up; one off the bar and another cleared off the line.
  18. I've tweeted the club to ask... no response yet. Edit: when we last played Bradford in preseason I'm sure it was under McGhee; did we not have two trialists playing; big centre half and a winger? I recall the winger ended up asking for £10k/week in wages or something ridiculous; can anyone remember their names? (Just out of curiosity!)
  19. I'm not so sure; he'll certainly be considering quite a few offers. There's still a lot of the summer left to get him on board. May also be because we're in Holland and not working on signings as much this week; I'm sure 'Flow said (or someone mentioned earlier in the thread) that there wouldn't be much development on any signings this week. I'd imagine IB would want to be heavily involved in discussions too and his focus this week is exactly where it should be; training the team and getting them ready for the new season.
  20. I think it was mentioned before but was clarified as being under negotiation, rather than expired.
  21. I want to see the away in person before deciding which to buy, but do like them both from that!
  22. Top 10 with a decent few cup runs. Avoiding relegation and allowing the new players to gel into the team IB wants, then onwards and upwards from there.
