  1. So we're currently linked with 3 attacking players, one of whom has already signed; fine, goals have been hard to come by. Would love a left back capable of covering for Hammell and a GK to replace Gunnar if he does indeed leave. Doubt we'll get both. Quite excited at the prospect of this Hungarian lad, could be another Ojamaa.
  2. Pacey more than a target man; will run the channels and give you pace up front. Doesn't score many but always seemed to get a timely goal when we needed it for a win.
  3. Mark Wilson has had his contract terminated by Dundee Utd. Anyone think he'd be worth a 6 month deal?
  4. He's playing in League 2. Nicky Law had a similar reputation when he joined the club from the same division, that turned out alright.
  5. I remember it being quoted as in the £millions, at least. As for the rest, I play on artificial pitches a lot of the time with my current 11s team and physio for them too; I haven't noticed a significant increase in injuries over that time compared to my last team that played more on grass. If anything, grass was worse because of slippery conditions etc during the winter (we played on decent pitches too, not many quagmires). For me though, cost would be too prohibitive. That and we wouldn't have moments like the 'Deep End' sign again, which was top notch.

    Ross County

Dan for me, made some excellent saves again and bailed out O'Brien/McManus with a few. Thought O'Brien was absolutely chronic and at fault for the second goal; didn't see the first properly.
  7. As I've mentioned in another thread, Saturday was my first game since St Mirren on the opening day. It didn't fill me with confidence at all; the players were holding on for dear life at the back and Ainsworth wasted several chances to keep the ball in County's half. We had a few breaks where we could have killed them off and either missed or played the wrong ball. Frustrating, but if we can be more clinical we'll improve. As a final point, that's the WORST half time reception I've heard a Motherwell team have since the days of Malpas.
  8. That made me chuckle somewhat. The interview was excellent; comes across very well and emphasised as much as he could how he wanted to work with everyone in the local community to make sure that the plan happens within 5 years. Jane Lewis was very direct and to the point with the questions she put to him (I believe she's a 'Well fan?) as was Richard Gordon. Like it's already been said; very exciting times for the club and having only been to 3 games since August (Saturday being my first since St Mirren on the opening day) for a number of different reasons, the excitement/positivity that should come from this may well see me back more often.
  9. Ditto what G&F ^^^ said. Seems fair enough reasoning to me at the minute, though doesn't do a lot to quell the rumours of pending investment in the club and the associated pitfalls of that happening (OMG NOBBY SOLANO, etc).
  10. If that's true that's absolutely hilarious.
  11. One of the BBC commentators on Friday mentioned seeing a 'South American' player that he recognised but couldn't remember the name of in the Main Stand...
  12. Would still be better than some of the candidates suggested on here...
  13. I'd consider McKinlay. Wouldn't take Laszlo and don't know enough about the other two to comment.
  14. That letter to the fans and club speaks volumes about the character of the man that we've lost. I have to admit, seeing his post match interview on Sportscene last night he looked a broken man and his e-mail certainly says as much. All the very best to him wherever he ends up; he deserves a shot with a club bigger than Motherwell; be that as a coach or a manager.
  15. We're a right morbid bunch on here, eh? No-one else. Motherwell die, my interest in Scottish football (other than the national team) dies with it. I'd have a soft spot for a few teams down south but not enough to call myself a supporter.
  16. A 4-4-2 just doesn't work for us with the players we have, not enough covering in the wide areas from Ainsworth/Vigurs. 4-2-3-1 Goalkeeper: Twardzik. Nielsen gives me the fear. Defence: Ramsden - Kerr - O'Brien - Hammell Midfield: Lasley/Reid - Carswell Attack: Ainsworth - Vigurs - Ojamma Striker: Erwin (God knows it'll be Sutton, though).
  17. I thought they already had been released? Or was that list just up until November? Someone posted something a while ago saying we've got a tonne of Friday night games coming up.
