I was thinking exactly the same thing about this when I read some of the comments on here/FPC at lunchtime today...
  2. Can only echo what's been said before. I've chatted with him a few times and he was always a complete gentleman. RIP.
  3. Lived in Motherwell my whole life, but now working in England during the week, so put outwith Scotland (I'm home every weekend, but figured I spend more time where than in Motherwell now).
  4. I'm not sure I'd want another centre mid when we clearly need another experienced striker (assuming Clancy has signed up, which covers our need for a defender). It'd give us a real embarrassment of riches in the centre of midfield - we can't afford that, really. Coke was a tidy player for us but I'd rather see Carswell or Forbes () be given a chance.
  5. Just in from the game - if we play like that for this season we'll be top 6 easily. Made mincemeat of their defence at times in the first half. The link up play between Law, Higdon, Murphy and Humphrey was a joy to watch. Still think Higdon has a bit more to offer than he's shown thus far, but he held up the ball well and played some good passes. Was blowing out his arse after 70 odd minutes, which is a worry. Some of our defending was comical - Randolph looked ropey at best at times. His drop for their first goal was inexcusable. All in all though, we looked good - if we can tighten things up a bit at the back, keep attacking like we did today and get another striker in, it's going to be an exciting season!
  6. Fairly sure I've seen him play against Accrington Stanley this season - looked a very nippy and dangerous player. Think he'd do well for us if we get him signed on a 3-4 year contract and allow him to develop.
  7. I don't disagree with any of that, either. I thought something else was getting at why the strip hasn't been released, but perhaps I mis-interpreted. There's a quote on here from Alan Provan saying there should be a mock-up of it ready in April. We've got another nine days left before that's not true.
  8. Our anniversary isn't until the 17th May, though? The "year" of our anniversary runs through 2011 and 2012.
  9. I suppose that's a decent enough way to do it - play well and secure us a top-6 finish, we'll reward you by giving you a contract for the next 18 months... Gives players an incentive to win as many games as possible.
  10. I was 3, can't say I remember much of it. I do have a photo of me and my brother standing in front of the double decker bus outside of Fir Park before the victory parade!
  11. Can't believe I forgot it was the semi-final draw...

Jeffers for me - if he can sort out his final passes (he hit defenders a few times in the first half) he'll create a lot of goals for us. Unlucky with two or three of his shots, too.
  13. Quite looking forward to this one - my brother's the crowd doctor, so I'm getting free hospitality.
  14. Think you need to register to the club website mate - should be an option there to get it!
  15. I'd have to disagree with that ^ I thought we looked MUCH better going forward with the 5 across the middle and Sutton up top on his own. Murphy and Humphrey supported him very well, as did Lasley, Forbes and Jenno. If we play with the confidence and attacking ability that we did on Sunday, we'll win. A winning system is a winning system, no matter who it is against.
  16. Just because a defender shields the ball doesn't mean he's blameless, or indeed that the keeper's going to collect. Unless Mulgrew he hears a shout, it's HIS job to to clear the ball away.

Anyone got a photo of the team of the week they could post up? I can't get the Scottish Sun doon here in Englandshire!

He did, although I'd say Randolph had a much better game in terms of how important some of his goalkeeping was. Every time we needed Randolh to take a cross or make a save he did, Kello made some fine stops, but I don't think his overall contribution was as great as Randolph's (Jambo mate of mine that was at the game said the same, having watched the 'Well game on Sky).

Randolph. Pulled off some excellent saves at very important times, his save from Stokes and the two from Commons (late first and late second half) were some of the best I've seen.
  20. Yeah, I mentioned that to him and he said he played a *few* more times than that, but like I said - he was mostly in the reserves, when Judas Brown was in charge of them.
  21. A player called Billy Hare from the late 70s/early 80s? Tells me he played a few games for the first team (including starting his second game at Ibrox), predominantly played for the reserves though. Just met him at my work - he's now an engineer here!
  22. It's always tough losing someone, but even more so at this time of year. My thoughts are with you and your family at this time. RIP.
  23. That's even more comical coming from someone with a signature like that...
