Hopefully he's got more about him than this waster.... http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38490655

Aye, was just contradicting the last bit. "but decisions have to made in context of specific situations." The Marvin Johnson one was a ridiculous booking. They are consistent in booking the scorer. But Johnson went 2 yards off the pitch with half a stand separating him from the crowd, got booked, Leigh Griffiths ran 40 yards to vault the wall into the supporters and didn't.
-
So they are consistent, they book the goalscorer, as opposed to using any measure of common sense. Why don't/can't they book 2 players in an example like the Griffiths/dembele one above, and did they really need to book Johnson in the other example. Louis Moult on Saturday was a stick on yellow as it stands, and it was worth it.
-
Marvin Johnson at Killie early in the season was a great example of a complete lack of common sense....

Rogic was booked. http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38113702

To be fair, if players leave the pitch, they pretty much always book the goalscorer. I've been checking. A weird one in the league cup semi, where Leigh Griffiths took Dembele to the crowd, and jumped the wall into the stand, but Dembele got booked as he scored rather than Griffiths. (Who took him to the spot David dray had gone when hibs scored in the cup final). Griffiths is on the right....

It was one of those where in reality he probably booked Mcdonald for persistently being a pest. He went through the boy from the back, his protestations on the penalty claim and making a meal of any contact from the defender. Not sure being a pest is a bookable offence, so he picked something.
-
McDonald did go down like he'd been shot by a sniper, I'd gladly see more bookings for that sort of behaviour. The problem as always is inconsistency. Refs must know at times they've been conned, there were a couple of examples in the recent game against Celtic, where Lustig and Brown made out they were mortally wounded to make sure the Motherwell players got booked, then made a remarkable recovery.
-
Certainly that one should it's horrendous! So many times yesterday players on both sides misjudged the bounce, it made it scrappy as hell. The conditions won't have helped, but it's always like that. To be fair to other plastic parks like rugby park, you could watch a game on that and not really notice the pitch.
-
What a shambles it was trying to get in (and out of) there. Especially for the folk that had gone to the bother of going to fir park to get a ticket, to have to stand in a queue with folk paying at the gate anyway. the turnstile operators w're painfully inefficient as well. (Fuck me, I've never seen someone make such a meal of ripping a ticket out a book and finding 3 £1 coins!!!)

Probably a bit, and to be fair to Humphrey, his pace scared the shit out of teams, I often thought his worst games, where he was completely anonymous were generally Jamie Murphys best games, as teams were doubling up on Humphrey and giviving Murphy acres of space. So he probably did "take one for the team" more than we appreciated at the time.
-
Ainsworth definitely had more ability, but your point arguably says more about the worst of Ainsworth than the best of Humphrey (if that makes any sense?). I wonder if he still has his pace? ('Cos he had fuck all else!)

Scottish Premiership Motherwell V Aberdeen Fri 23 Dec 19:45

What percentage of our goals conceded come as a result of Samson palming a ball out into the middle of the box? It must be close to 50% The fact the penalty was conceded as a result of him not holding (or getting to safety) a pretty tame shot, to then save the penalty and push the rebound straight back to Rooney pretty much summed up his season so far. His best performance this season, we lost 5-0 and even then a lot of his saves were follow ups to his initial "save". Having said all that, the scoreline flattered Aberdeen. Their penalty was a shocking dive, that surely is worthy of a ban for Rooney? Moult should've stuck ours away, but would probably have scored the rebound if half the Aberdeen team hadn't been almost at the penalty spot when he hit it. We started well and lost that awful goal to set us back. As a stand alone performance it wasn't that bad, but the same mistakes over and over is very frustrating! -

Is it not actually easier and quicker to get to Perth? I also get that ICT, Ross county and Aberdeen can't just play each other all the time, but with st Johnstone and the 2 Dundee clubs in the league, there are surely slightly better ties logistically they could've arranged. We've played Patrick thistle between Christmas and new year recently, and took a big crowd over there. -

It's losses over the preceding 3years. The limit is something like £4million, Rangers losses are close on £20million. -

Celtic haven't been winning quite as emphatically on the road. Saw Motherwell at 16s which is amazing value. We are 16s for a reason, even forgetting our deficiencies, this is the best Celtic team in a good few years, but I still think if you played this game 16 times, we'd pick up more than 1 win.... Get intae them!!! -

Barton is away, and Waghorn appears to be trying to get out. The good news for us is that any new signings won't have had any competitive football to bed in. -
I did think that myself, Yaya Toure out of favour at city, could do a job?

You do have a point, but I think Patrick Thistle have created a lot of bad feeling with their own support by shifting them around to accommodate Old firm fans. A lot of their own support didn't attend on Saturday, and they're the ones that would still be there if they got relegated. It's a delicate balance between short term financial gain and the potential lasting damage to the core support. -

Celtic away ????? -
Seen a few videos of the Celtic fans singing Whams last Christmas. I'd unashamedly knock that! This year to save me from tears, I'd give it to Chrissy Cadden/James McFadden. Would sound great with the drum going!

I agree, Scotland appear to have a lot of decent middle to front players, but without having a Robbie Keane or a Gareth Bale type talisman. Truth be told, we don't even have a Kyle Laugherty, but our real weakness is centre half!!!
