  1. That story sounds familiar, think it was his own wedding.

    Loan Signings

Offiong did have a decent spell at Hamilton a few years later. Was awful when we had him on loan from Newcastle (?) though!

    Loan Signings

Sieb Dijkstra was my favourite goalie, but Randolph was probably better.

    Loan Signings

Marios Klimpl. Was a bit of a cult figure for a brief spell.
  5. To be fair, Clarke was the sort of guy a lot of folk felt Rangers should be buying, a young player who had scored 30 odd goals in the 2nd division/league 1 for queen of the south, made sense. I suspect his dad being a former team mate was more of a factor for Mccoist mind you.
  6. It might be to stop his phone bursting into flames with bed wetters tweeting him for minute by minute updates. I think it's great that he engages with the fans, being a fan himself, he knows what it's like.
  7. Not like that Barraclough window, where we'd probably have identified 3 replacements, signed them all and kept Johnson.
  8. I'd drive him there myself for half that!
  9. Agents are awful! I'm presuming the "family reasons" are that his family would be happier if he tripled his wages?
  10. Thomas who? You can't be talking about Dom Thomas, as giving the ball away is all he does.
  11. I think the first part is a bit harsh, but do agree on the second part. I find it really frustrating when we get a glimpse of how good he can be, that we don't see it more often. McDonalds experience is great, and by all accounts he used all of it on Saturday to good effect, the only niggle with Mcdonald is that he looks a good way off fit. It seems to have become part of our pre-season to let a player sit on a contract until the worst of the pre-season training is out the way. He'll be fit by November.
  12. It certainly could be....
  13. He did that with Louis Laing
  14. I'm sure if you contacted the club they'd do something for you. Is the problem with these things not getting the volunteers to bring them along? School teachers, scout leaders. Boys club coaches etc. Will maybe come for a one off, but will they want to come every other week on top of the time they already commit...
  15. I think you can discount Celtic as they have 100s possibly even 1000+ players across all age levels, so are going to find someone every now and again.
  16. We were last night. Celtic had a strong team out last night with a £4million signing up front. Even the £1/4 million they paid for Dembele dwarfs anything we can spend. Disappointed we didn't have a go other than 10 minutes in the second half, but seeing how easily they cut through us when we did get forward, maybe for the best.

    New Cup Formats

To extend on the point above, part-time players perhaps retain a level of fitness 12 months a year, which while it may be lower than a full time guy at his peak, is still a decent level. Not sure if it's a factor that playing in league 1 or 2 in most cases won't be about the money, or as a job, it's something they do because they want to play football.
  18. I think based on our record v Celtic and Celtics record with midweek cup ties in a deserted ground if we played the game 10, 12, 14 or 20 times, we'd win more than once. (Although wouldn't have liked to have backed us v Rangers from 2001-2015 using that logic!!!)
  19. According to my mum, tipping Taxi drivers was a thing in days gone by, as they'd help you with your bags etc. If they're just running you to the pub, there's probably no need. I'll tip if I've kept them waiting or asked them to make an extra stop, but for a quick run somewhere or if I think they've overcharged, I'll round up to the next full pound or not tip at all respectively. I hate tipping, I never know when and how much to tip, I'm not very good at doing it and not very comfortable. It was one of the few things that I've really not enjoyed when I've been to America, as it's so ingrained in their culture. I'd rather just pay a slightly higher price and avoid any awkwardness. Also annoying when I'm away for work, as I can't claim tips back, but don't mind tipping waiting staff, but some folk I work with don't bother.
  20. I see we are 20/1 on Bet365 to win in 90 mins. I know our record there is shite but thats an outrageous price. Obviously trying to entice me into jinxing our chances!
  21. I agree, on his day he's one of the best or at least most dangerous players in the league. He's started the season with a consistency that he hadn't show before. He probably is, or could be the difference between top 6 or a relegation battle. I do have a slight concern that should we hold onto him, his form might dip in September, October and November and maybe pick up again in December/January.
  22. Far from Impossible, in the last 5 years St mirren, Morton,Ross county and killie have all beaten Celtic in this competition. They'll also gave half an eye on their upcoming Chamouons league qualifier. I'd expect t some of the fringe players will get a run out for them, in front of a sparse crowd. We could get pumped, and the chances are higher than average, but we could cause an upset, like when we beat them there last season.
  23. Rangers have released a statement saying they're not happy about it, can't see any obvious reason why, it doesn't appear particularly critical of them or their fans. The police/stewards got caught with their pants down with the injury time winner, when it looked like going to extra time, they weren't in place, why not just admit that. How it can be all Motherwells fault when it happens at Fir Park, but nobodies fault when it's at Hampden is strange.
  24. Don't entirely disagree with you, but with the game being live on TV, paired with the horrendous view you get from the usual away end (I'm presuming it's not been moved, as had been rumoured) it's an easy one to miss.
