  1. Vitesse Arnhem a few pages back is similar, but with a collar.
  2. Would look very different from the current one. I thought the same too, claret and amber replacing the red and blue on the away would probably be quite nice! (Is there not one earlier in the thread like that?) The home is pretty horrific. Both highland teams seem to excel in ugly garish shirts.
  3. I can't believe people are being so precious about this. I'm usually on the "heavy hands, empty stands" side of things, but on Saturday the club had to be seen to be doing something. As others have said, blame the nuggets that goaded the rangers fans, blame Bilel Moshni, the sfa or Rangers. Motherwell were on a hiding to nothing here, and you are kidding yourself on if you think a few kids wouldn't have got on at full time, to be followed by some that should know better if the club hadn't taken the OTT action. Unfortunately (and in many cases unfairly) our fans have a pretty poor reputation at the moment, which undoubtedly hasn't helped us on this. The last thing we needed was to give the sfa and media m another stick to beat us with.
  4. They can't put the rail seats in there, for the same reason they couldn't put normal seats in when they closed them. It would obstruct the emergency exits from the main stand (and finding a solution wouldn't be cost effective for the small number of seats.) I stood there as a boy too.
  5. Yeah, think that's where the confusion arose as to whether it was 2 yellows. I suppose the TV view is that of Madden, so can only guess what the linesman saw. Don't think it ticked any of the boxes for a straight red though.
  6. Thought the Lasley Red was a yellow all day, never a red, the reaction of the Aberdeen players seems to have swayed it. Shinnie (who was one of the main complainants) committed a similar foul in the first half and didn't even get booked. (On mfc highlights, but not sportscene.)
  7. At the Dundee United game at tannadice we got a corner and everyone was waiting on Hammell to take it, but he was on the bench.
  8. I'm looking for a few missing programmes in a collection if you're able to help? All Motherwell v Rangers at fir park... 3rd April 2005 14th January 2006 30th July 2006 10th April 2010 Cheers.
  9. Aye, we're more likely to have an impact on the title "race" by getting a point at Pittodrie to make celtic champions.
  10. We never have a balanced midfield as we appear to play with 1 winger who switches wings and 3 central midfielders. This is the problem with Ainsworth and Johnson not having a defensive bone in their body, Lasley and Gomis aren't mobile enough, Pearson is made of chocolate....
  11. Surely Law isn't marking their left back? He's left a bit exposed as we tend to play with attack minded wide midfield players. I probably just like him, as it gives me a Gilmour of hope I could still be a professional footballer.
  12. Connor Ripley made save after save to keep us in the game. Was a real shame he let in one of the easier ones! I thought Josh Law was excellent. Defended well and was getting forward to support in attack. He divides opinion, and I'm not always convinced he's not out his depth, but thought that was one of his best games in a Motherwell shirt.
  13. I was trying to find if we'd managed 6 wins on the trot before. Seems we did it in 2014 with a 1-0 victory over Hearts at tynecastle. The previous occasion was in April 1937 with an 8-0 victory over Celtic. For those of you looking for omens. I think this could be Ronny Deilas "Mowbray moment". 4-1 Motherwell.

    Craig Reid

He played for us when it happened too.
  15. Brian Kerr was a poor mans Ged Brannan, seem to remember him saving his best for the cameras too.
  16. Yeah, tend to get a routine 2-0 defeat when we actually believe we have a chance. Many of our results against either of the old firm have tended to come when no expectation, December at parkhead is a good example. League cup at ibrox a good example of the other side of that coin. Looked at that myself. It's a good price given our form.

    Europe

Thanks, I'd seen and heard a bit of chat about us qualifying, but wasn't aware this rule had been changed. (I'm sure Gordon smith tried to do it and wasn't allowed?)

    Europe

Is it definitely not cup runners up in the Europa league if the winners are in champions league? I thought UEFA insisted a place went to a cup team. (When the SFA tried to change it a few years ago)
  19. I'm sure they've had players (faddy) and celebrity fans (tam Cowan) sign up and got some press from it.
  20. I don't mind him, but he's a poor mans Tom Hately, a competent right back with aspirations of playing in midfield. I sometimes believe McCall thought as he was Nicky Law's brother, he'd be the same player and that's why he played as an attacking midfielder early on.
  21. I quite like both the kits, but they could've both been done a bit better!
  22. Was just to illustrate a point, rather than a valuation.
  23. The great thing is, we've got these guys tied up, so if someone wants them they need to pay us, so I'd imagine if we brought in £300k for a player, we'd be willing to spend £100k if required to get a replacement.... Much better than the attitude of recent years, where the club appeared to be resigned to losing players without even trying to get them to stay, just letting them run down their contracts.
  24. Lasley and Jennings played loads together, and it worked ok.
  25. Even for the euro games we're not allowed to use the side bits.... So unless it's full of old firm fans, it's unlikely to be reproduced from a photo!
