    Scenes

"They're like that aw the time"
  2. Yes, our poor preparation and lack of fitness at the start of this season was a disgrace! For starters that won't be allowed to happen again. Lee Erwin looks set to leave for nominal compensation, like Murphy, not too mention some of the gems we've unearthed over the last 5-6 years that have left for nothing. Again, we're trying to stop this continuing. Running the club more like a business, being more professional, making better use of our facilities.... These all seem positive to me.
  3. Think Law is a decent utility player, and has been one of our better/best players since January. On hutcheson, I'm pretty impressed with the stuff going on behind the scenes, and the longer term plans. In the scottish football world of short term thinking, it's a breath of fresh air. I'm not sure about plan B, and he certainly comes across arrogant, and perhaps has unrealistic expectations on how we are willing and able to support the club financially, BUT it appears to be well intentioned, and he appears to be doing all the right things behind the scenes to give us the best chance of success on the park. (In years gone by, Sunday would've been £20 a ticket, and Rangers given 6000, just as an example of our change in approach)
  4. I don't think I've ever been so pumped about watching a game on TV!
  5. You never know the match commander might be a Mr Duckenfield.
  6. Exactly. Not sure if it's getting the excuses in early, or thinly veiled threats. I hope motherwell fans can maintain the moral high ground here and not go too vigilante on Sunday. Can you imagine Rangers come back to the top flight, hopefully not this year, and Celtic offer them 950 tickets for Parkhead? Presumably they'd accept that and give celtic the usual 8000 at Ibrox?
  7. I've got a lot of time for Stuart McCall, but does that not read like a bit of a threat.
  8. Where is Craig Reid? Is he injured or does Barraclough not rate him?
  9. Or ainsworth, which is probably 80/20 to be as good as not playing anybody, but if he happens to choose to turn up.... I think ainsworth should play for his pace, that should cause Rangers problems, if, and it's a big IF ainsworth turns up.
  10. If ticketless 'well fans get in the home end at ibrox and cause bother, I presume its Rangers fault? In fact, it's Rangers who effectively locked 3000 of their own fans out of fir park too. Seems to me like he's getting excuses in early for any bother caused by Rangers fans.
  11. Claret97, maybe I'm gullible, but im starting to believe you. Just a few points though, if your grampa is a 'well fan, surely he's been to one of the 2 cup finals, 5 semi finals or 10 european home games in recent history? If he was at any of those, he'll be on the database, and can get a ticket or get someone to go on his behalf (I'm sure the ticket office people wouldn't mind an 84 year old sending a family member). I would also add, if he is quite old frail and hasn't been to a ticketed game in the last 20 years, I'd suggest this isn't the one to start, safer if he watches this one in the house. The atmosphere will be poisonous, and there's a pretty high chance of some aggro. A lot of Ranfers fans have managed to get tickets amongst the motherwell fans particularly in the main stand, and we all know they struggle to behave.
  12. I think it's more about breaking them down and not being sucker punched on the counter attack. If they get a lead it will be very difficult and awful to watch. They play like ICT used to at fir park. Nick a goal, then just sit in.
  13. Sorry, just double checked! Main stand lower haha!
  14. Some amount of pant wetting on this thread! Tickets for Sunday are no problem. If you've been to an all ticket game of ours in the last 20 years, you'll be on the database and can buy your ticket. In an ideal world the away tickets would've been distributed in a "fairer" manner, but given the short window to sell them I can see why they just sold them today. (Season ticket holders getting first shout is pretty universally the way any club would do it in normal circumstances, unfortunately due to Rangers shafting us and taking their time, these weren't normal circumstances.
  15. Without hearing the tone of the question and the tone of the response it does sound bad, but perhaps wasnt intended as some interpreted it, or was perhaps in response to the tone/direction of the conversation. (Les perhaps felt he wasn't there to deal with nags and complaints of that nature, and was hoping to speak about the bigger picture...)
  16. I don't think they'd want to advertise it at the same time as season tickets. Most folk will miss a few games, so this is a cheaper option. They will start punting these 5 games into the season for those that didn't buy a ST I'd guess.
  17. 1 game less for your money. We don't play all our games at home. (Although because of split, you could be 19-19, 18-20 or 20-18)
  18. I think by official they mean 4th official, not St Mirren blazer?
  19. I'd think it would just be 2 matches for the straight red, but it may lead to another ban? He's been booked a few times too!?? So he'd "only" miss 1st leg, unless he's crossed the points barrier?
  20. It's a bit ironic that the story was lifted from here, put in the paper, then posted on here.... (Although it did clarify the situation to be fair)
  21. Really is last chance saloon now! If only we could have won at firhill or hamilton it would be in our own hands.

    Josh Law

Given we could almost field a team entirely made up of right backs, and he's the best of them, he can't be that bad. I wasn't sure at 1st, I did question if we'd not only just signed him because he was Nicky laws brother, but also that mccall thought he could just shoehorn him into his old position, which didn't really work. I think he's pretty steady at right back, much in the same way Hammell is at left back, rarely spectacular, but decent, reliable etc. Could make a case for him as our POTY, he'd certainly be on my shortlist. He probably gets an unfair hard time.

Think Jay called it spot on. I've thought all season we've had a look of the hibs about us! They were a fragile team for years before they eventually got relegated, even going back to the 6-6 game, they were bottle merchants who collapsed like a cheap deck chair, but occasionally could be brilliant. I know he wasn't there last season, but players like Riordan (see ainsworth) who are capable of producing Magic now and again, but are useless when the chips are down epitomised their attitude problem. Great to hear what the stadium announcer actually sounds like too!
  24. At the New Years day game they had a pay gate. Would be pretty daft not to I'd have thought, many folk are likely in a similar situation to yourself, others might just decide its a nice night and decide to go along. I'm thinking about it, will start dropping hints to the wife tonight and gauge the response... I'd imagine the clubs would prefer us to believe it's all ticket until pretty late on, as it makes planning easier.
  25. To be a bit positive about it. Where would beating Rangers in a play off to keep them down and us up rank for others? I think it would probably beat the league cup semi-final at easter road for me. Putting it behind only the 1991 cup win. It would be amazing, although maybe not worth the stress and worry!
