  1. I'll reserve judgement on what sort of impact he'll make when I see how much weight he's carrying.... Agree about Pearson, he was exactly what we were missing, and was a blow having him out injured so quickly.
  2. He can't join another team until the summer now.
  3. That's what happens when there's nae chips with his dinner!

    Baraclough Out

I'm sure I saw Straker in Tesco, can't confirm whether he bought oven chips or not unfortunately.

    Baraclough Out

If going out for a meal and having a side portion of chips on a Saturday night is the extent of our young players party lifestyle, I don't think we've much to worry about!
  6. I actually think Reid is a decent player. Probably our best right back.
  7. At least half those centre halves listed are injury prone!
  8. My first thought too, a stronger version if Chris Humphrey couldnt be a bad thing? Pearson looks a good signing based on the highlights of the Dundee United game and what we already know about him. Exactly what we needed, a mobile box to box midfielder. Straker sounds like he could be ok? Sometimes things work out for players at one club and not another. Some of the worst players I've seen in a motherwell shirt had great success elsewhere, and some of the best came with low expectations, or moved on and didn't impress.
  9. Only 50/69, like others wasted a bit of time on spelling moutaoukil, ojamaa and Jutkiewicz. Reckon I'd have got 5 or 6 more if I had a bit more time as had a late burst after a lull. Also started with keepers then RB etc. but that system went out the window when I got to midfield, as most of our right backs have played in midfield.

    Injuries

These new physios seem to be doing a cracking job! Barraclough spoke after the Dundee match about not rushing players back and then breaking down again, like hammell... Incidentally, I can barely remember Hammell missing a game before, what is his injury?
  11. I do remember being in jack Daniels just before the scottish cup final and they were selling cup final t-shirts with a logo that looked more like a flute band badge than anything to do with motherwell. Union Jack and saltire on it. Certainly a motherwell friendly pub, but got the impression it would be a "h*n shop" 6 days a week.
  12. John Sutton 1st goal at 20/1 seems good value... Not expecting a lot from this game.
  13. Not often you'll see the words "vigurs" and "fit" in the same sentence.
  14. He's a young 32 in that he's 32 and 3 months, as opposed to 33 11months and 3 weeks...
  15. Hamiltons pitch is awful! It suits their pressing style of play, as it's an absolute lottery how the ball will bounce, that combined with low confidence leads to the panicked hoof to "safety" we saw from us every time we got the ball on New Year's Day, and gave it straight back to them! It wasn't why we lost the game, but it can certainly be used to your advantage.
  16. That sounds like Stephen Hughes motherwell career.
  17. I think you're right, Peter McDonald hat trick?
  18. I think you're being a bit harsh, and also unrealistic with the number of players you think we need in. One thing we need is a mobile central midfielder. I actually think defensively we have the players, we just need to get them playing. I remember Jim Gannon saying no matter what he did with our defence, they couldnt keep a clean sheet, then craig brown got the same defence on a run of clean sheets. Craigan was a bombscare under Gannon, and I said after Gannon's last game (ict? At fir park) I didn't want to see craigan in a 'well shirt again, I was wrong.

    Fast becoming out best player!
  20. Fastest mover and most effort I saw from anyone in claret and Amber all day.

    Hamilton

If left before Dom Thomas came on. Josh Law was the least bad. Fast becoming our best player!
  22. Are you sure? According to official site....
  23. I never really had a lot of sympathy for players playing on these "state of the art" AstroTurf pitches, but having been at the cup game, it was pretty grim. So many balls bounced in midfield and both players completely misjudged the bounce.
  24. I don't think Rangers can afford compo! That's why Ally has lasted this long, they couldn't afford to sack him, and they still can't afford to sack his sidekicks. If be willing to bet that the next Rangers Manager will be a former Motherwell manger. McCall, butcher and Davies early favourites.
