Fair point! (Presuming it wasnt aimed at me)
-
I think Saturdays is only match days.
-
Well said! You should have to pass some sort of decency test to be granted access to twitter! I cringe when I see the abuse some folk put out there! I don't like Law going to Rangers, but he was leaving us either way. Those abusing the Motherwell players who have wished their friend and former colleague good luck via twitter need to get a grip!
-
I shouldn't really bite that piss poor bate, but panathinaikos and a decent la liga side in Levante hardly fit the "Albanian goat herder" analogy. It's rangers that are playing posties, sparks and school teachers week in week out. How did their last foray into Europe go? Beaten by Maribor and Malmo, teams with about 1/5th their budget.
-
I was thinking this, but managers have a slightly better record of going on to bigger and better things than players. McLeish, Davies and Eric Black all did ok on one hand. Mark McGhee, Terry butcher, Tommy McLean not so much on the other. (McLeish is a weird one! Everytime I think he's been found out he gets a better job, I expect to see him at the bernabeau next season)
-
Definitely! Minus yassin mouthakil!! Ruddy, hateley, jennings, coke, Humphrey and jutkiewicz were all guys he brought in I think! He also got the best out of Forbes and 1 or 2 others. If he was a bit more stable, committed and a better man manager he'd be great!
-
If McCall goes (which is a big if), maybe we could get Jim Gannon back, sign us up another batch of players, then punt him and get a sane manager in at the end of the transfer window.
-
I can see where steelboy is coming from... As much as I love faddy, I think Motherwell need to make their best offer and get him signed, or move on! We can't hang around until the end of August while he whores himself around looking for a better offer. Not to say that will happen, but I can see where steelboy is coming from. Although he's done enough to satisfy us he's still got it, has he done enough to persuade a decent English side? I kind of hope not, so that we can keep him, 4 year deal!!

Baby due 2 weeks before 2nd qualifying round. (I'm working on James if its a boy!)
-
Why would they need to? I presumed the reason for that this season was as there was no budget left when it became a possibility. Now they have Law, Randolph, higginbotham/murphy, daly and possibly several other wages freed up.
-
I presume the draw will start to take shape after next weekend when we know where we will be starting and most leagues are finished? I won't be allowed to the away leg this year, but still looking forward to the euro adventure!

Fair point! This season we have played some great football and been a joy to watch at times with our attacking brand of play, whereas last season we were often just marginally less shit than our opponents! So many games are finely balanced, and a moment of brilliance, or madness, a poor decision or break of the ball gives one team the momentum and they can go on to control the game. The 1st game at mcdiarmid park this season was a great example! We were very fortunate to be 2-0 up, but then were cruising and won 3-1 (with the 1 being a late consolation). Just a bit if quality from Jamie murphy vs poor finishing from them and good defending from us. -
I also felt some of Jamie Murphys success on the left was down to teams doubling up on Humphrey on the right (normally a centre half behind the left back). A frustrating player, but a threat on his day, and 10 times the player he was when he arrived, he was like a 100m sprinter who had never seen a football. On a good day, he put the absolute fear in defenders, and was a great outlet to relieve pressure and get the ball up the park. I'll miss him if he goes.

Had a discussion with the turnstyle woman about that. Would have argued longer, but there was a big queue. Was £15 for an adult and upto 2 kids, there wasnt an adult price as such, as adults weren't allowed in alone. I presumed they'd have to let us in for £15, but apparently not. Probably legally they do, as advertised at £15 and probably discriminatory against folk with no kids as well. Missing the start of the game, having to sit behind the goals, splitting up the 'well support, big queue for a shite pie, pish performance and £22 for the privilege. Had better days out! Great season though! That's why so many headed to today! Shame it ended with a whimper. -

Aye, sums it up for me. -
Fair enough! I like the smoke bombs! Wouldn't risk setting one off myself, but quite happy for others to do it. Only highlight of "that night" at ibrox was the smoke bombs!
-
Is a lot of Goodson not wooden? I'm sure the stand I sat in was wooden. The south stand at fir park certainly isn't though! Although this happened at an old firm youth game last season
-
He could just move seats!

Just a thought that would have made more money for the club, might have been to stagger the auctions, even at 5 minute intervals. I got outbid, and would have bid for other positions if they didnt all finish at effectively the same time. I was able to go to about £150, and several positions went for less than that. Hope all the guys that did win have a great night!!!
-
It probably has to be higginbotham for the build up and the finish! I really enjoyed faddy v hibs aswell though. Probably the strike of the season was Humphrey at tannadice, with Higdons at tannadice a close 2nd. It's amazing how many really good goals we have scored this season!! I can think of another couple that didnt make the top 10!
-
I don't think many non 'well fans appreciate how good Randolph is. I've had several folk look surprised when I say he is better than John Ruddy. (Or at least he is better than Ruddy was for Motherwell if that makes sense) I hope he goes to the top of the game!
-
I'd prefer the earlier round, where we might be seeded, and get a couple of competitive games, and hopefully victories under our belt before we face a tougher side. Especially with it likely to be a new look side.
-
Fair points! 5 years ago maybe. The John ruddy one reminded me of a Billy Connolly tale of his mate from a council scheme out with his posh mates who were comparing house prices.... Posh mate: "What would you get if you sold your house jimmy?" Jimmy: "about 60 days"

Some of the greatest players I've seen in a Motherwell shirt were in the twilight of their career, so had no sell on value. Davie cooper and tommy coyne are obvious ones that spring to mind.
