Agree lasley was poor, thought law was anonymous too, luckily murphy and Humphrey worked extra hard to compensate. Feel it's harsh to single out OJ, thought he ran his heart out, even though not everything came off, but he hassled the united defence all night, forcing several mistakes. His work to hold the ball up and set up Humphrey for the goal with a perfect pass was fantastic.

Special mention for the united fan behind the goal with the white hoody that celebrated the offside goal by giving it GIRUY to the 'well fans long after everyone else had realised it had been disallowed! GIRFUY ya tube!!!

This morning, just a really bad one! :-))

SPL goals coming up on SSN.. We didn't play well tonight, but then we have played well in other games and had nothing to show for it. Must have done something right though!! Neither team could keep the ball, but we took our chances well, and defended well enough that they were restricted to long range shots, and fortunately missed when they did get in. Great to get 3 points in a game we would normally (and maybe should) have lost.

Yes, they tried putting John daly on him to use his height, but McCall figured it out quick enough and had cummins on daly wherever possible. Not a flawless performance, but for only his 2nd start (?) he was on the whole good, confident on the ball, showed strength to win or keep the ball and dealt with most things.

Went for Humphrey. Not only for his stunning strike for the 2nd goal, but his work rate and defending (seriously), did a great job helping hately cope with Barry Douglas. Wasn't able to offer as much in attack as a result, but great performance. Only Humphrey, murphy and ojamma really stood out, was a backs to the wall job though.
  7. Am I correct in thinking this is the 3rd run in we've had? Higdon for "doing the higdon" and Jennings for making Jim Goodwin punch him.
  8. Unfortunately the TV pictures dont look great! Hardly vicious, but there is an obvious flicking out of his boot. Can only presume he has either thought the boy has come in to do him and reacted, has been trying to wind him up, or if we're being generous, instinctively swung his leg out to try and break his fall or stop an awkward landing. I'm more concerned about who sets the agenda here? Andy walker? Scotsport? Or the SFA? Lee mcculloch had a look over his shoulder to see where cummins was before elbowing him in the face, yet that didn't make the highlights. Am I putting 2+2 together by suggesting he gets an easy ride because he's pretty good with the press?

Heard on the news there we have a couple of players doubtful, didn't say who though? By a stroke of luck, I'm working in Dundee tomorrow morning, so hoping to string it out all day, and go to the game!
  10. It seemed to be Andy walker pushing it. One of the angles looking from south east corner looked pretty bad, but not much was thought about it at the time. Never saw sportscene, but they apparently dwelled on it a fair bit too? Trial by TV. (Sportscene who didn't even include the lee mcculloch j elbow in the cup game in the highlights)
  11. I singled out Stephen Hughes that day as the weak link. Although hately had an absolute 'mare too, and got ripped to shreds.
  12. I was at the game at pittodrie, and he played quite well, scoring the winning goal.
  13. I really don't understand the hard time folk give Omar Daley! He generally gets 10-15 minutes, often in games we are losing or chasing. I don't think he has ever had enough game time to prove himself as a good player, or a dud. I've been pleasantly surprised by his work rate, Caribbean wingers aren't famous for their work rate, but I've never seen an example of him not pulling his weight.
  14. I have no idea, and to be honest, hadn't even considered the outgoings involved. I'd still be surprised if they hadn't turned a profit from the 2 home gates, and the prize money though. My main point is, I don't see us going part time in the foreseeable future.
  15. True, might be an Interesting topic, to find out what are the factors in deciding on going to away games?? Ticket price Travel cost/availability Cup ties Opposition Good/bad form Mates going Ticking off a stadium Important match .....
  16. Sounds like utter bollocks! We will have made good money from Europe... From uefa.com 2011/12 money: "All the clubs that played in one or more of the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds received €90,000 per round, ie a maximum of €270,000, whether they played in the group stage or not. In addition, each club knocked out in the play-offs received €90,000." And "Clubs which took part in the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds also received solidarity payments – each domestic champion which did not qualify for the group stage received €200,000, while clubs who were eliminated in the three qualifying rounds received €130,000 for each round played, up to a maximum of €390,000. Each of the 20 teams involved in the play-off matches received a fixed amount of €2.1m, irrespective of the result of their ties." Not to mention 2 big crowds at top prices, merchandise etc.
  17. It's not a bad price, is it cheap enough to make people's mind up to make the 6 hour round trip though? I'm hoping to get up, got a 100% record at pitodrie, and have seen franny Jeffers and Omar Daley score there!! :shocked2:
  18. I can't make it tommorow, so no. I'm afraid it would be a no anyway, charity begins at home, given the champions league ticket money, prize money, rangers game, they shouldn't need the money, plus, having bought a season ticket, been to the European games, cup game and some away games, I spend more than enough watching Motherwell. I don't think Motherwell would let you in half price if your wages got cut.
  19. Amen! Agree with every word of that. I know Omar Daley is a figure of fun on here, but I'd even consider starting him as a straight swap, he's had so few starts, I think it's unfair the criticism he gets based on 10 mins here and there, often in games we are struggling in.
  20. Fair point, my mate (a teacher) got some disapproving looks buying Bucky at the shop next to the school at 3.05. Great Monday night out though!
  21. Not Inverurie again!! Was it the 5th attempt it went ahead last time? I had arranged to go to all but one of the games, nightmare. The most ridiculous part being it went ahead on arguably the worst weather and road conditions of the lot!!
  22. It's unvlelievably tight! Dundee united are 10th, but could go above us if they win, if we win we go 3rd, and could be top at 5pm on Saturday if we were to take 6 points. So we could be top or 10th or anywhere inbetween on Saturday at 5pm...
  23. I'd take any of the places I've not been away, or anyone at home, preferably not partick thistle or SPL side though. Inverness Caledonian Thistle Ross County Turriff United Dumbarton Forfar Athletic or Nairn County or Greenock Morton Cowdenbeath Queen of the South or Arbroath Stenhousemuir or Berwick Rangers or Bonnyrigg Rose Elgin City
  24. I like higdon as well, and you're right. I think some more experienced defenders know exactly how to play him and the referee. He does do a lot of holding though. Nothing on OJ who runs around knocking folk over off the ball though!
