I don’t think Arsenal fans are quite as “all in” as Celtic fans. Scottish football twitter etc. is a mess. Journalist posts article and within 10 replies it’s descended to what about the paedos and Rangers died...

I agree about the drinking in moderation. Young fit guys can have a few beers and recover no bother. Unfortunately drinking culture in this country means that many are unlikely to have a handful of bottles of beer or couple of glasses of wine. The videos that came out of some Rangers players after the PoTY dinner (the day they beat us at fir park) were a shocking state for anyone to get in, let alone a professional athlete. Perhaps this points to a wider disciplinary problem at Ibrox, but that’s a different matter. I don’t think players should be drinking to excess during the season, a guy like Cristiano Ronaldo is not dedicated and willing to sacrifice because he plays for Juve for £300k a week, he is there because he is dedicated and has made sacrifices to squeeze everything out of the talent he’s got.

Gannon didn’t quite have a clean slate, but IIRC he had only been installed a few days before the Llanelli game at Airdrie and barely had a team as McGhee hadn’t bothered recruiting as he was waiting on his opportunity to leave. On the one hand McGhee completely stitched us up by sitting on his hands all summer, but what would Gannon have done if he turned up with a squad full of McGhee signings and no room to bring in his own guys? Very much the right guy at the right time, maybe a bit of a shame it went south so quickly. (like Barraclough being the right man for play off)

To stoke the fires of conspiracy theorists amongst us. Can anyone find any footage anywhere of Lee Mccullochs elbow on Adam Cummins in the league cup game at Ibrox when they were in 3rd division? Game was shown live on BBC, but it didn’t make the highlights and has been consigned to one grainy image online. I remember finding that bizarre at the time.

I vaguely remember Gannon said after his last game words along the lines of “the defenders we have will never keep a clean sheet” Brown then got us on a run of 5 clean sheets on the bounce. The guy really lost the plot latterly and the St Johnstone game has to be one of the worst performances I’ve ever seen at fir park. As much as some of his public spats etc. were used as a stick to beat him with, I agreed with a lot of what he was saying.

Yeah, guys like Humphrey, Jennings, coke and hately (admittedly a marmite character, but decent player for us.) He did throw in plenty kids and appeared to be able to motivate the young players. His inabilitiy to work with the existing senior players in the squad was his downfall. Would make a great head scout on the face of things.

They had to accept a bid eventually. Celtic’s starting bid was just over £1million, so getting over £3million would seem a good point to accept that’s as much as you can expect. As others have said, I doubt there was an official release clause, but perhaps a gentleman’s agreement on a point where club would let him speak to interested parties, after all he signed a new contract when he didn’t have to.

I see we’ve got what’s becoming our traditional midweek visit to Pittodrie too.

Never done Ross County away, was hoping to get that one pencilled in. They’ve got to play somebody, shame it’s us. Maybe next season...

It’s an attempt to level the playing field, so players don’t get bought/sold 2-3 games into season.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day....

There’s so much money, they’re happy to wait and see. Let him prove himself and then pay the price. See Andy Robertson or Virgil Van Dijk. (Or Paul Pogba!!!)

They don’t have European qualifiers or league cup in July, so probably a few weeks before most of them are back. Presume we start back training next week for league cup?

I get the argument of “what’s the ducking point” given we have sold our best player to Celtic and a decent prospect has walked away and signed for Rangers. I realised there was no point the season (2011/12?) we started really well, then took back to back pumpings from the old firm. I also get, that ultimately everyone is for sale if the price is right though. We could’ve tried to hold onto him until January and got the same money, but next summer his value plummets as we would have to sell him. If he was to get injured in November and miss 2-3 months or pick up some niggles meaning a stop start season he drops off the radar (see Cadden). I presume the players current contract is a consideration when clubs try to buy him, if we had him tied up for 2 years on £10k a week we might be in a stronger position to argue he was worth more. Ultimately his contact is probably worth less than £200k, so £3 million is amazing. Gutted he’s going, more so it’s to Celtic. I think we do need to try and hold onto some players over the next 18 months, but ultimately if we bring someone in and they make an impression it will probably happen again.

That’s quite specific. Wouldn’t be touching that!

I doubt Celtic will be the best offer on the table for Motherwell or Turnbull. So can’t see it happening.

I get not housing Rangers and Celtic fans there. Is it an issue with Livi, ICT etc. ?

They’ve been doing that for at least 3 seasons. its also only £2 extra for me to take my wee boy on the PATG price. The cost of bringing kids to Fir park is already negligible. (An adult and 2 kids in the east stand (£23) is cheaper than a single adult at most of our rivals!) We should definitely publicise this more/better; particularly to visiting fans, it’s an easy market to crack, people who already go to football, getting them to go to an away game shouldn’t be too hard to sell. For me a good away support improves the atmosphere, which improves the “product”....

He’s still trying to tell people he’s a midfielder.

I think the one question mark over Robinson is whether he successfully introduced the youth through choice or if he stumbled into the situation reluctantly by luck and circumstances... It looked like a nothing to lose/last throw of the dice that gave us a massive bounce in a dead rubber of a second half to the season after the cup exit. I would question whether we would have changed things so drastically if we were in a relegation battle? But i like the guy? And agree he has earned the right to carry on doing what he’s bern doing.

BBC reporting same. The content of your post is pretty much the extent of the BBC article.

Quite like him and been good this season, but hardly irreplaceable.

Were you at the Ross County game.

Was a bit unlucky. Not a great deal in it. Could’ve probably given him a yellow...

Really good prices for families! Appears to be £16 for an adult and 2 kids, £29 for 2 adults and 2 kids. Trying to persuade the wife to come along, or let me go with our well behaved kid. Anybody sat in the family stand? Appears to be mixed. Sat there a few years ago when we played there last game of the season, but was just used as an overflow when we filled our section in main stand, so not really representative of what it’s normally like.
