  1. I didn't go to Odense it was a nightmare draw, they were probably the weakest and least glamorous team we could have got, and was too expensive at the time. As we had a (small) chance of winning, I decided to hold out for the group stages! I'll see how the draw goes, but at least we'll get a 2nd chance if the first game is too expensive , too short notice, or scary. Hopefully one of our games will be easily accessible, maybe away 2nd leg too to allow for planning??
  2. I'd love to visit Athens, although never thought it would be to watch Motherwell!! Copenhagen or brugges would be cheapest to get to (although I believe both are expensive when there?).
  3. How does it work as far as home and away legs? Are the seeded team home/away first or anything like that??
  4. I was young at the time, so didn't realise how good we were in the early 90s, and what a pumping we gave Katowice at fir park, without getting the job done. Watched some highlights from the mid 90s the other day, what a team we had, and some of the slick passing football is amazing!!
  5. Think I've watched it quite a few times!! Not my goal of the season, but my favourite moment of the season!! The celebrations were excellent!!
  6. I'm normally quite optimistic, but being realistic, we should be hoping for a winnable game in the Europa league play off round, as we will have probably lose our 1st champions league game.
  7. If we lose 1st game, we go in Europa league play off round. If we lose 2nd game we go into Europa league group stage.

Was between 3 of the back 4 for MOTM, went for Clancy, been a real unsung hero I think. Threw himself in front if things, and once again, never put a foot wrong.
  9. Especially yassin mouthakil!! I think we've got a lot of results by being slightly less shit than the opposition.
  10. I wonder if ki sung yeung racially abuses them? He likes a monkey gesture!
  11. Blackman was dancing and smiling over laughing at/with the guys, I don't think he'd have done that if they were racially abusing him??
  12. I saw the guys having "banter" with Blackman and stokes, it looked good natured from where I was standing, although I couldn't see the guys, just the reaction of the Celtic players. I'm sure if they were getting racist abuse so openly something would be done about it. It doesn't suit their story, but the east stand is not the family stand, not that it's overly relevant.
  13. Only thing is st Johnstone are better away from home!

    Kilmarnock

I thought Clancy had another good game, played like he had a point to prove. Omar daly gets a mention for his contribution when he came on.
  15. How often would you fill them though? Once, maybe twice? Have we had a complete sell out? I'm sure at Nancy and Odense games there were seats left in south stand??
  16. Probably not, for 1 game? When you think of some of the dumps of stadiums in world football (never been, but heard the San siro, although iconic, is a shithole), it's hard to believe that the seats having no back means you can't use them in Europe. I wonder at what point a lip, becomes a back on a seat? I'm sure in Macedonia and Bari watching Scotland it was bin lid type seats?
  17. Worth bearing in mind, that all our rivals will have to play each other at least once more, so will all cut each others throats. IF we do get the champions league place, I'd say you're looking at a near full house at fir park, plus tv money. Due to the nature of the draw (the possible outcomes are on page 1) we are almost guaranteed a glamour tie! Then when (let's be realistic) we get knocked out, we will likely be up against a decent side in the Europa league play off round, which will be another big crowd at fir park, tv may depend on whether Celtic are in Europa league too, in which case, the tv would favour them I'd presume. If we get in the Europa league, which is a big IF, then it's 3 home games, and presumably some tv money, and some sort of payment from uefa, based on how well you do.
  18. They would need to sign a new contract (if there's is up), which means the club they go to need to pay a transfer fee, which means less money for wages and signing on fee. Reynolds did this, you never know murphy might, but can't see others doing it. Unfortunately our top players will be attracting interest, so would want to renew on improved contracts which we won't be able to offer. Would love to see us keep the bulk of the squad though!
  19. I think Kilmarnock rangers and Celtic are the only teams we haven't beaten yet!! Would be good to beat killie!
  20. Surely that has to be a consideration? It's one of the most important parts of the job! Law, ojamma, higdon, daly and Clancy. Vs Bangura, wanyama, lustig, blackman, Matthews, Wilson... All mccalls signings started yesterday (although lasley would play before daly). Lennon seems to sign 10 players and find 1 or 2 good ones.
  21. I think Lennon will get it. Think McCall is more deserving, can make a great case for him. If you look at his success rate with signings vs lennons, id say it swings it to McCall.
  22. I thought mchugh had been injured, and that's why he was out of the 1st team squad? He's a decent player with potential, unfortunately for him we are reasonably well off for attacking options at the moment, and he's behind higdon, murphy, ojamma and Daley in my opinion (and Stuart mccalls).
  23. Join the fun! It's a bit tongue in cheek at the moment, but not a complete fantasy!! We have a 9 point cushion on 4th, rangers are fucked. Let's dream!

    Celtic

Wouldn't normally vote for a game I wasn't at, but watched it all, and thought lasley was probably our best player. Nobody stood out, good or bad to be honest, which I suppose is a good thing against such a good team!
