You do realise to get in the actual champions league proper, we'd need to beat TWO of the teams I listed at the start or 1 plus a 3rd/4th place team from la liga, serie A, bundesliga, england or the likes? I'd settte for a pumping somewhere accessible by easyjet, and maybe a winnable Europa league PO.
-
Presuming it's seeded, you're probably looking at Dutch, Greek, Turkish, Russian, ukranian or Portuguese team. Motherwell, Danish team, Romanian team and Belgians are likely to be non seeds, I'd think. I'll go back and get all the teams coefficients when the picture is a bit clearer, if we are still in contention.

With us looking really good for 3rd, and it looking unlikely rangers will sort out there mess for 31st march, I've been getting a bit carried away, and looked up the draw we could get in the champions league qualifiers. We wouldl enter in the 3rd qualifying round (of 4), and will play 1 of 9 non champions, all look pretty strong. Dutch runner up Psv, Az, heerenveen, twente, feyenoord, Ajax Portuguese 3rd place Benfica, Porto, braga, maritimo, sporting Lisbon Russian runner up ....Moscow Ukrainian runner up Dynamo Kiev, shakhtar Donetsk Turkish runner up Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, besiktas Greek play off winner Panathinaikos, olympiakos, paok, aek Athens Danish runner up Belgian runner up Anderlecht, Brugge, liege, genk Romanian runner up Dynamo, steau or rapid Bucharest, cluj. Presuming it's a seeded draw, we would get one of the better teams amongst that lot, which is quite exciting. The bad news is, we'll probably get pumped, the good news is, you drop into the Europa league play off round.

To be fair, the game was stopped for a foul before he hit the shot, so it wasn't really a disallowed goal as such. Having said that, was a good finish, and doubt the keeper was getting it anyway.

Are folk planning sitting in their allocated seats, or just wherever they like? I normally sit in the same place, but don't want to nick someone's seat, buy as my allocated seat is in the last section of the east stand, I have a feeling it will be occupied, which will start a chain... Hopefully an unusual thing will happen tonight, and the team will give a big crowd something to shout about!! Tend to fall on our face in these type of circumstances. We are playing well though!! 5-2 Motherwell is my prediction.

It effectively is a free for all, you just need a ticket so they know who's coming. Everyone at the 1st game should have a voucher, including most season ticket holders who don't need them, would be great if a near full house turned up!!

Maybe I'm being mean, lack community spirit, or don't really care about my club?? I think the money I spend at the gate, in the club shop, at away games in the cup is more than enough. I'm maybe more of the opinion... ask not what I can do for Motherwell, but what Motherwell have done for me.. I could make sacrifices and give Motherwell another £300, but what would it be spent on? Paying £100k a year to journeymen from the English lower leagues? Maintaining a crumbling stadium that was neglected when paying £400k a year to a slightly higher calibre of journeyman? Charity begins at home, and as much as I live following Motherwell, it's an easy decision to be selfish on this one. Football clubs have got themselves in this mess while fleecing the paying punter, so why should the paying punter now bail them out???

Michael Fraser was one if the worst keepers I've seen at Motherwell! Probably worse than woods. We were discussing Randolph v ruddy on Saturday. Ruddy is bigger, but otherwise, they're pretty even, and Randolph is hardly a midget.

I'll give you 60 for it!! Haha!! I remember I got slated on here for putting my season ticket on eBay. We only had 1 home game left, and I knew I couldn't make it. Think it was the malpas season??
-
Do they have a reserve league in the championship? That would possibly get him ready? Felt he was a bit off the pace up here.
-
Hopefully the expectations aren't too high, otherwise people might start to Barack ojamma!!!
-
I honestly don't think I've ever seen a 100% fit Hughes in a Motherwell shirt. In his 1st spell, he was injured a lot, but was an important player, so got rushed back, played 70% fit, got injured again.... The last 2 games he looks a long way off match fit in my opinion.
-
No such thing as bad publicity!! Although having read said publicity, maybe this is an exception?
-
I was there, he didn't make one forward pass, lost every 50/50, was outpaced several times, never beat a man, looked miles off the pace. Otherwise a good performance!
-
More embarrassing is salim kerkar making another cameo against us!! I think he has made 3 appearances for rangers, all off the bench against Motherwell, it's almost like they're taking the piss!!
-
Strange choices. Hughes IS NOT a replacement for jenno, he's too lightweight, and doesn't look match fit, he was rotten at Tynecastle where we got over run in midfield, and rotten again on Saturday, although he seemed to be playing right midfield, he has no attacking instinct at all, it's sideways at best. I'd have kept hately at RB, stuck carswell in midfield, and had Daley on the right. Clancy had a poor game, had always thought he'd done a job previously. Start of the second half was encouraging with Daley working hard, and trying to create something. The changes were positive, which was fine, there was always the risk it left us a bit exposed at the back, but rangers looked vulnerable when we did attack them. 1st goal hutchy should have nailed edu, or stay on his feet, he sold himself and didn't win the ball, or take the man out, although he did have a good game otherwise. 2nd goal aluko got far too much respect, and despite being our best player, I thought Randolph could have done better, he was well positioned (probably a bit over critical!!) 3rd goal, looked like we had a decent shout for a penalty, rangers go up the park and get the killer 3rd.

I've got a spare ticket, give me a pm if you want it, and we can arrange to meet at ground, or in morning.

The walk wasn't very well publicised this year, I was out working and drove past a group of guys in 'well colours outside parkhead, thought the U19s were playing until I remembered the date and checked the 'fishel site. Was a sad day! Arguably his legacy could be the moderate success we have enjoyed in part due to the great team spirit we have witnessed since that day. Although the players have changed, we seem to have maintained that team spirit which has seen us enjoy a consistent few years in the top half, in europe and challenging for trophies.
-
I'm not predicting a Motherwell win, but given what I've seen if rangers, I can't see them scoring many, worst case is probably a comfortable 2-0 to them, best case is a rare 'well victory!! I may be a jinx though, I have never seen us win at ibrox, and haven't seen us win at parkhead since late 80s or early 90s, when I seem to remember us winning there fairly regularly??? Think I've seen a draw at parkhead about 96ish, and saw us lead at ibrox in 99, although we lost 5-1.
-
I'd be disappointed if Jennings goes! He can have his Christmas holiday every year, as long as he plays well the rest of the time!! As someone just said, we badly missed him at Tynecastle, Hughes is a very different type of player, and midfield was where we lost that game, hearts won everything in midfield! Ok, hately having one of the worst performances I've seen since craigan in gannons last game didn't help, but losing the midfield battle cost us.
-
Ah! Cheers! Think it's 5 in EPL? Rangers would probably appeal anyway! On appeals, is the SFA shut for Christmas? Could they not have heard the mcculloch case on weds, Thurs, or Friday this week? 3 working days, possibly 4 with Saturday too for SFA. At least jenno will be back when lasley gets suspended, and Clancy did well when hutch was out injured! Both are likely to get booked sooner rather than later!
-
I notice laughertys booking in the OF was his fifth of the season, is that not a suspension?
-
Kenny shiels interview after Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Celtic park was good. He refused to accept that he could be reasonably satisfied with a narrow defeat. He said it was a defeatist attitude, and not what he wanted in his dressing room.... A defeats a defeat. If I was a killie fan in the car, I'd have been really pleased to hear what he said!

The problem with foran was more his fitness/stamina, probably as a result of his lifestyle? He certainly had something and scored a few goals (although he was penalty taker). We also played him on the left, which I don't think was his best position.
